I think we should get over the line, but they're definitely not a team to take lightly. Just look at the last few game we were expected to beat them and got done.
-
Fremantle beat us at the MCG in 2012 , 2014 , 2015 and 2017 . Two of those defeats were David Mundy horror stories .
We have beaten the Dockers the last 3 times in Perth including last years probing by 100 pts .
Dockers are doing well to be a middle tier team this year ....but if we're serious we will waltz this in by 10 goals .
-
The AFL website tipping us to win by around 4 goals.

Summary
Damien Hardwick will go into this game with few concerns given his nearly fully fit list and the team's raging form, although this will be the Tigers' third game in 13 days, compared to the Dockers' three in 16. It's a difference of just three days, but that could prove significant given the Tigers' unconventional post-Anzac Day Eve recovery period where they had to turn around and play again in just five days. Ross Lyon will have to shuffle the magnets to replace Michael Walters, who will miss multiple weeks with a knee, while the ruck battle between the in-form Toby Nankervis and Aaron Sandilands will be intriguing. While the Tigers will enter as red-hot favourites, history suggests the Dockers' chances shouldn't entirely be dismissed. Lyon's men have won four of the last five MCG encounters between the teams, while bizarrely, the Tigers have snatched the last three in Perth.
WHERE AND WHEN: the MCG, Sunday, May 6, 1.10pm AEST
LAST FIVE MEETINGS
R22, 2017, Richmond 25.5 (155) d Fremantle 7.9 (51) at Subiaco Oval
R8, 2017, Fremantle 10.12 (72) d Richmond 10.10 (70) at the MCG
R9, 2016, Richmond 11.17 (83) d Fremantle 6.9 (45) at Subiaco Oval
R17, 2015, Fremantle 12.10 (82) d Richmond 10.18 (78) at the MCG
R10, 2015, Richmond 15.7 (97) d Fremantle 10.10 (70) at Subiaco Oval
THE SIX POINTS
1. Much has been made about the League-wide trend of low scoring, but these two teams are having a crack. The Tigers are the highest-scoring side this season with an average of 105 points per game, while the Dockers are one of few teams to improve in this area from last year with an average of 83 points, up from 73.
2. Having said that, it makes sense both sides are adept at taking the ball inside 50. The Tigers lead the competition with an average of 59.2 a game, while the Dockers are sixth with 54.
3. There was an avalanche of Richmond goals in the round 22 clash last year. The Dockers led by four points at quarter-time before the Tigers piled on 22 goals to four to win by 104 points.
4. Dustin Martin was the star in that game. He polled three Brownlow votes for his 36-disposal, two-goal performance.
5. If the Tigers win, it will be their best start to a season since 1995 when they won their first seven games. If the Dockers get the four points, it will be the second straight season they've started with 4-3.
6. A cracking performance against Collingwood has Nankervis ranked as a "fast climber" in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Schick. The ruckman has gone from 89th overall to 65th in the space of a week.
IT’S A BIG WEEK FOR…
Michael Johnson. The defender backed up Sandilands against West Coast with the veteran ruckman nearing the need for a spell but unable to be rested just yet with the Dockers' young tall brigade ripped apart by injuries. With Nankervis so influential against Collingwood last week, Johnson might need to up the level of his supporting role on Sunday.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 23 points.

Fremantle face a horrid road record straight out of derbies ahead of their MCG appointment with reigning premiers Richmond on Sunday.
The Dockers have won just six times away from Perth at their next clash at only a 26 per cent winning ratio from 23 engagements.
But, the Dockers can turn to a healthy 4-1 winning record over the Tigers on their hallowed home turf under coach Ross Lyon.
A nerve-wracking after-the-siren set-shot goal from veteran star on-baller David Mundy secured last season’s downfall for the Tigers in round eight last year by just two points.
The Dockers have a hefty 8-5 win-loss record at the “G” under Lyon since 2012.
Any Dockers winning hopes must be engineered without dashing forward and influential on-baller Michael Walters who is a casualty from the eight-point derby loss with his recurring left knee trouble and must be replaced.
Utility Tom Sheridan shapes as a potential replacement around goals and with his aggressive tackling and forward line pressure experience to off-set losing Walters.
Sheridan, 24, was an emergency heading into the derby and pressed claims for a recall with a near best-afield outing with 29 disposals for Dockers alignment team Peel Thunder against East Perth.

Not sure about that. I thought most were 8 point games with some 12 to 16 points.
Better check with Chucky. I believe he is the Oracle when it comes to these finer points.

Should be further in front. Poor goalkicking and sloppy, lazy and too cute disposals (because it's actually too easy) has cost us so far. Cut out the globetrotter crap Tiges and put this mob away.
Ignoring hitouts, the only stat we are trailing significantly in is clearances. Freo up 4-10 and have won all 4 centre clearances.
Leading disposal getters:
Prestia 10
Grimes 8
Lambert 7

Richmond were outstanding in the first term. They lead the disposal count 108-85 at 77 per cent efficiency compared to 68 per cent efficiency for Fremantle. They have also recorded 75 pressure acts to 62, including 22 tackles to the Dockers four.

We break 4 Freo tackles.
Caddy 51 out. Goes long and it's rushed through again.
7 inside 50s this qtr for just one goal.
38 - 7

Freo have racked up their 4th tackle for the day, we just laid 4 tackles in 8 seconds of play ... :cheers
-
Freo point.
Fyfe the only threat. Playing a lone hand.

Starting with Grimes. Coast to coast even with a mongrel kick thrown in. Butler to Houli and goals :gotigers
Houli ran 80m there for the receive.
Rich 6.8-44
Freo 1.2-8

Lloyd spoils. Dusty to Graham through the middle to Prestia. Goes to the pocket and Georgie marks. Speared it to Jack but called to play on and it's been stuffed up :scream.
Commentators saying the pass looked 15 ::).
-
Point to Freo. They've lifted their tackling. They are also winning the clearances 2 - 8.
44 - 9
-
Houli very good. Georgie ordinary handball over the top but Dusty still kicks the goal :gotigers.
Rich 7.8-50

So we get the late review but last night North doesn't ::).
It's reversed and called a point ::). Dusty now with 4 points today.
45 - 9

We get the centre clearance. Lloyd on the boundary and tries to dribble it through with a Freo defender on the goalline. Hits the post.

Umps trying to even up the game by not paying us frees and then giving Freo 50.
Mind you we've been too cute with the globetrotter stuff.
Prestia on the run. Steers it to Towner. Finds Dusty whose classy kick finds to Jack. Goal :gotigers
Rich 7.10-52

Half-time
Richmond 4.5 7.11-53
Fremantle 1.1 1.3-9
Goals: Riewoldt 2, Caddy, Lloyd, Houli, Lambert, Graham.
-
How good is Fyfe
-
Getting more opposition from the umps than Freo. Technically correct calls but why does one game get late reviews while another does not? ::)
We're going in about 2nd gear. Playing too cute forward of centre because it's too easy.
-
How good is Fyfe
Yep. He's having to do everything for Freo: ruck, win the ball, win the clearances and try to score. Apparently, he's had a record number of disposals against us to half-time. Only chink in his armour is he is going at only 42% efficiency.
-
I hope Ross has learnt from his past mistakes and speaks to the Freo
girls players with respect! :rollin
-
Getting absolutely smashed in the clearances :P but we are getting far more of the ball, inside 50s and of course scoring. Game summed up by our 30 tackles to just their 13.

Frustration by Caddy and it's paid downfield. Goal to Freo.
55 - 23
Pathetic by us so far this qtr.
-
As bad as we have been, Freo are clearly worse
-
We’ve stopped. Too tired I reckon.
-
Only got ourselves to blame. Didn't put them away in the first half and ignored their dominance in the clearances. Now we've switched off we can't find the on switch.
55 - 31

Dusty to Caddy on 50. Misses.
56 - 31

Conca to Grimes to Edwards. Short goes for home and he misses too :banghead.
57 - 31

3.10 to us since quarter time ::) :banghead.
Lucky they miss too.

Houli to Dusty to Towner at HF. Goes towards Butler. Too cute with the lookaway handpass but it gets to Macca and he kicks it towards Georgie who takes the contested mark 35m out. Misses :scream.
Make that 3.11 since 1/4 time :banghead.
58 - 32
-
Conca important toe poke to Lloyd who gets it to Graham. To Caddy and he lops it over the top to Jack on the lead 35m out on the boundary. Around the body and it hits the top of the point post. OOTF! :P
-
The whole squad will be doing goalkicking practice during the week. Too lairy :banghead.
ANother butchered goal chance :banghead

Contested possies: 88 - 112
Clearances: 14 - 32

Yep, torch. Calf/Achilles injury apparently. Ice now off it but he's limping around on the bench.

Bad turnover by Freo. Nank marks the poor kick. Dusty runs and then blows a certain goal being too cute.
Sums up the day. Us playing too cute and stuffing up but freo are too woeful to make us pay.
-
Yeah really getting to me this to cute stuff we wont get away with it against better sides,as we have always said we play our best footy doing the basic stuff.

Running in waves down the ground. Lambert to Sheds on the end finds Jack. Goal :gotigers
Rich 12.18-90
Freo 4.8-32

Yeah really getting to me this to cute stuff we wont get away with it against better sides,as we have always said we play our best footy doing the basic stuff.
Yep. It could have been a massive % booster today. Freo have been so bad (like Brisbane when we played them) we should have won by 100+ points.
-
Macca with 3 to choose from finds Short. Out the back and lloyd finds nank 50 out. Close but it's a point.
91 - 32

Lloyd keeps it in. Gets to Conca = goal :gotigers

More due to the crappiness from the teams playing (our bad 3rd qtr included) :yep.
-
Still them kicking only 4 goals good defence effort.
-
After a rocket from Dimma at 3/4 time we kick 8 in the final quarter and finish 77 point winners :gotigers.
Final Score
Rich 4.5 7.11 7.16 15.20-110
Freo 1.1 1.3 4.8 4.9-33
Goals: Riewoldt 3, Townsend 2, Lambert 2, Higgins, Castagna, Lloyd, Conca, Caddy, Houli, McIntosh, Graham.
-
Job done 4 pts.Still not at our peak cut the cute stuff :gotigers.Hopefully Prestia not to bad.
-
Take the 4 pts and move on noting the issues we need to address ( beaten badly in clearances & stuffing up in front of goal ). No one will be wanting to see this match on 'name a game'.
Still them kicking only 4 goals good defence effort.
Yep and kept them to just 1 goal in 3 of the 4 qtrs. A combination of our good defence and Freo's woefulness.
Gained 13% points in percentage to boot :thumbsup.
-
The Tigers 12.14.86 from Intercept Possessions, including 9.10.64 from forward half Intercepts have propelled them to today's dominant win. They recorded 58 more disposals and 29 more tackles than the Dockers to outwork them comprehensively.
Lead by Jack Graham (164 metres gained) and Sam Lloyd (123), the Tigers have outgained the Dockers 1127 metres to 487 metres in the final quarter to run away with the game.

-
Was a boring game but I'll take the win.
Fyfe got a lot of ball sure. His aerial work was something to behold, otherwise it seemed to me that he was left to do whatever he wanted in the back half but was picked up often by guys like Mac, Graham, Caddy and even Broady when in the middle/forward half to contain his influence.
So all in all lots of leather but not a lot of damage from what I could see. Well played by the Tiges...
-
Tackling was really good. Thought George, Grimes, Astbury and Graham played really well. To win when we did not have Cotchin, Martin not playing well and Prestia injured was good. Thought 3rd quarter was really disappointing. Last quarter very good to watch. Enjoyed Nank running Sandilands into ground in the last quarter.

The umpire who didn’t give that free to Vlastuin should be fined for bringing the game into disrepute
