I think we got through unscathed at least.
Fire away with your changes?
-
In: Stengle, Towner, Tivendale
-
Out: CEllis, Bolton, Higgins, Hyde
-
Seen enough of Shai , that’s enough
-
out - C.Ellis, S.Bolton, C.Moore Castagna
in - C.McIntosh, T. Stengle, Townsend and Baker
-
out - C.Ellis, S.Bolton, C.Moore Castagna
in - C.McIntosh, T. Stengle, Townsend and Baker
Yep.
I'd wanna drop Castagna but think we need him if Butler is out.
-
What I think should happen - Bolton out, Stengle in. Moore out, Coleman-Jones in. C.Ellis out, Baker in.
What I think will happen - No change
Why no change? Because the club is approaching finals and they want things as settled as possible. The only changes will be to bring in best 22, unless something happens to make a glaring change, like Nank getting injured.
-
Bolton, in all fairness he needs to be given a chance but will not happen.
Stengle in Townsend in, C Ellis out.
against GWS the ball followed B Ellis all night and he really did little with it.
Dusty turned it over shockingly.
-
Our best asset is our pressure, our toughness and our attack at the ball and the opposition.
When you have McIntosh and Townsend out and you lose Graham and Broad, you don’t replace them with CEllis, Moore, Houli or Bolton!
Especially when you already have Bellis and Grigg in the side.
Just too many soft, outside players to play our style of footy. You can, and we have, carry a couple of the Houli/Bellis types, but we cannot carry them all.
Our stars have been superhuman in the last 18 months but not even they can carry 6 softies.
Townsend and McIntosh don’t get heaps of the footy but they do contribute with our style of footy which then let’s our stars do the rest.
Outs- Bolton, Moore, CEllis, and for a statement Grigg
Ins- McIntosh, Townsend, Stengle, Bolta/CCJ (whoever is more ready and can help out in the ruck)
-
INS: Townsend, Balta, Stengle
OUTS: Bolton, Moore, C Ellis

I like it. :thumbsup

Bring in Balta if you want a bloke to go missing for half the game....
..also he's still a defender first & foremost.....has long way to go as a forward.... :shh
Stengle for Bolton, Menadue for Ellis , Baker for Higgins, maybe Townsend for Moore though I still think Moore needs to be persisted with regardless of what WP and his agenda says... :shh

My agenda? Please!
Moore proved again last night that against decent opposition he is lost, overawed call it what you want. How much more persisting do we need to be subjective to? Once we tumble out of the top 4 perhaps?
I admit I dont rate the kid, would love to proved wrong but and it is a big but there is very little (read practically nothing) he has shown so far that gives me any confience that he will make it.
So Balta goes missing in games, well gee so does Moore, thats part of the issue here.
As for agendas think you have a few of your own over certain players
-
Kmac and Towner haven't been knocking the door either in vfl to get back in this team.Yes it's true we need bigger body's with injuries out,but you reward players on form both need to do more.
If your going to drop Moore then Soldo should come in and hive Nank a chop out and rest.Soldo should have played a couple games this season like last year fresh up Nank.Moore doesn't go in the ruck part time were still using a midfielder.

Moore could easily give Nankervis a chop out, I don't know why he isn't being used....he couldn't be any worse than Grigg and really only needs to be marginally better.... :shh

Do me a favour.....Balta goes missing at VFL level and also lacks football nouse and understanding of positioning at this stage-that will change after another pre-season or two and more games but not yet...contested marking still a weakness too, people are just over excited by his pace -especially his closing speed- and athleticism atm, and as I said he's a defender at this stage, looks lost up forward *in the VFL* ..also I don't expect Moore as a young decoy/second tall forward with to get leather poisoning or chase and tackle at the level of our smalls or Townsend which you seem to be demanding when .he's not even being played as a defensive forward like Townsend was... you keep banging on about his lack of second efforts but frankly he's Glen Archer in terms of second efforts compared to the lazy spuds we used to play in that role....who were all older than him too...so yes -your agenda appears to be writ fairly large to me... :shh

CEllis Bolton Moore out
Stengle has earnt a shot
Menadue to replace CEllis
Townsend to replace Moore

^^^^ as per this for mine ^^^
not too happy on Castagna staying in but by all reports he will

Happy if we go with this but Moore may stay in if we're still experimenting with the line-up as Dimma said we were during the week.
-
So any of the following could come in next week:
Stengle
Menadue
McIntosh
Townsend
Soldo
CCJ
Lloyd
McIntosh and Townsend should come in. Strong consideration to bring Stengle and Lloyd into the team as they are ripping the VFL comp apart.
Although I don't like dropping players after 1 game, Bolton and Ellis are in the spotlight with Moore and Higgins on thin ice.
-
easy
Cellis - Lloyd/Menadue/Macca
Bolton - Stengle
Moore - Townsend

The Barometer - Round 18
Herald-Sun
16 July 2018
ON THE CUSP: The Tigers VFL side is flying, sitting atop of the ladder, fresh off an 85-point win over North Melbourne. Tyson Stengle was the star of the show on Saturday slotting six goals, while premiership star Jacob Townsend kicked two. Sam Lloyd continues to dominate at VFL level with 37 disposals and awaits his senior recall.
ON THE BLOCK: Richmond suffered a rare loss on Saturday night, falling to Greater Western Sydney by two points at Spotless Stadium. There were some underwhelming performances for the Tigers, with Callum Moore (five disposals), Shai Bolton (nine disposals) and Corey Ellis (10 disposals) all failing to impact the contest. Jason Castagna butchered his chances in front of the sticks with five behinds, but he should have enough credits in the bank to keep him in the side next week.
BEN GIBSON’S FORECAST: The Tigers may looks to reshuffle their forward line after failing to kick a winning score against the Giants and it’s hard to see Stengle getting overlooked. Richmond is still the outright premiership favourite and there is no need to panic, but with players pushing hard in the reserves, expect a change to the team which will face St Kilda on Friday night.

RICHMOND
Get them in: A six-goal haul, along with 24 disposals, from rookie Tyson Stengle in the VFL against North Melbourne should have him in the frame. Sam Lloyd (37 disposals, one goal), Connor Menadue (25) and Jacob Townsend (23, six tackles, two goals) didn't do their chances any harm.
Under the pump: Small forward Shai Bolton didn't have much impact in the loss to Greater Western Sydney, while Corey Ellis was a touch shaky.
Medical room: The Tigers escaped unscathed against the Giants.
Verdict: Stengle for Bolton and Menadue for Ellis.

Menadue for Ellis.
Could become our new Tivendale & Hyde..... :clapping
-
Cellis spent a lot of the game tagging Kelly, and did okay for the most part in that role - won't be dropped IMO.
I'd like to see Bolton get another go, if he had have kicked that goal in the last instead of spraying it I actually think it would have been a reasonable game.
Townsend for Moore at this stage for mine.
I'd love to get Stengle in, deserves a run after his effort in on Saturday arvo. Maybe if they wanna go small drop Georgie. Hate to say it but he probably needs to learn a lesson.
-
Thank Geez someone watched the game.
Josh Kelly is a 30+ possession winner each week. He had 20, 55% efficiency and had 5 clangers from pressure
he kicked 2 goals which is the only black mark against C Ellis but he certainly blunted his match winning effectiveness.
Now if we;d sat a player on Whitfield!!!!
-
Watch the game again, if tagging means sitting behind the play waiting for him to come forward, then yeah he tagged him ::)
He was also on taranto for one of his goals, didnt/couldnt follow him and he took an easy mark over the top to kick a goal.
Do not understand the amount of excuses supporters come up for this dud. He is not afl standard, will be dropped this week and delisted at seasons end.

Because you clearly didn't..... :shh

Yep laughable - was pee poor by any measure....truly bizarre that anyone would arrive at any other conclusion... :huh

Don't need to champ- you see unlike you, I already understand football and the concept of "tagging"..(Hint: generally entails "running with" not "standing off" and "waiting for" or "trailing way behind" your opponent )#clueless :shh

The Tigers head into Friday night's clash with St Kilda coming off last week's two-point loss to Greater Western Sydney.
Forwards Sam Lloyd and Tyson Stengle are pressing for selection after strong VFL form, but a swag of changes is unlikely given Hardwick said the Tigers were relatively pleased overall with the showing against the Giants.
"You look at all the indicators that we value and we won all those. It was just one of those games that they made the most of their chances and we didn't," he said.
"Whilst disappointed we walked away with a loss, we were pretty happy with 80 per cent of how we played."
