Odds:
Richmond $2.30
Adelaide $1.60
https://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2019/13/adel-v-rich
-
Should be $3.50
-
Should be $3.50
We will be about $3.15 by bounce down
-
Our percentage could be 80 after this game :help
-
we are stuffed
-
"We are in big troubles people!" :lol
-
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore". ::)
-
There is no need for panic. People got ahead of themselves with the start of the season. Our kids are getting games and a good education
We will be better in 2020 and 2021. We are missing our best key defender and key forward. Our youngsters are probably starting to get tired and we are now in the middle of a very cold melbourne winter which isnt helping them. We will be ok. We just need to get over the next 4 to 6 weeks with a chance of still making finals and we will be ok.
-
I'm giving us a show.
Strange this year we've travelled well where last year we were horrible.
Wet night.
Some need to drop a zanex. :lol

The AFL website is tipping us to lose by 2 goals.
Match preview: Adelaide v Richmond

Jun 11, 2019
Where and when: Adelaide Oval, Saturday, June 13, 7.20pm ACST (7.50pm AEST)
What it means for Adelaide: This is a huge opportunity for the Crows (7-5) to push themselves into the top four on the back of their stunning win against Greater Western Sydney last Saturday night.
What it means for Richmond: The Tigers have to pick themselves up off the canvas after back-to-back losses to North Melbourne and Geelong. A third straight defeat will have the Tigers clinging to their spot in the top-eight.
The stat: The Crows hold a 24-14 advantage in the overall meetings between the two clubs, but 13 of those wins came from 15 games between 2000-10. The Tigers have won two of the last three against the Crows, including the 2017 Grand Final.
The match-up: Josh Jenkins v Dylan Grimes
Jenkins has returned to form since having a stint in the SANFL. He's the second-ranked Crows key forward in the Official AFL Player Ratings (171st overall). Grimes is the second-ranked small to medium defender at the Tigers (#169 overall), but he'll get the job on Jenkins.
It’s a big week for: Matt Crouch
The Crows midfielder plays his 100th career game. The 23rd pick in the 2013 national draft, Crouch is averaging 31.6 disposals per game this season and made a successful return from a hip injury in last weekend's win against Greater Western Sydney.
Big call: The Crows to get out to a big lead at three-quarter time before hanging on for a close victory.
Prediction: Crows by 12 points

I sense another belting coming our way.
We have reached our tipping point with injuries. All teams would struggle with the amount of quality we have out.

Richmond out to $3.45 following Cotchin's unavailability

Shane Edwards also out

Injured Richmond star Jack Riewoldt has backed his teammates for a major upset, saying there is strong belief ahead of their Adelaide clash. The Tigers are coming off two bad losses and Riewoldt is in a long list of absentees ahead of Thursday night’s match at Adelaide Oval.
By contrast, the Crows’ win over GWS last weekend was their best of the season. But Riewoldt has pointed to round four, when Richmond pulled off a rousing away heist by stunning Port Adelaide.
The Tigers were given little chance, given they were without their Big Four – Riewoldt, Dustin Martin, captain Trent Cotchin and Alex Rance – for the first time in coach Damien Hardwick’s reign.
“Travelling galvanises the group when you’re under the pump in general, because you go over there and it’s a pretty hostile environment, Adelaide Oval,” Riewoldt told AFL360.
“You don’t see many yellow and black supporters over there – (they are) sprinkled through the stands.
“It’s going to be a big stage, Thursday night football on a bye round when there isn’t much football.”

‘Dusty versus the world’: Unenviable task facing ‘banged up’ Tigers
June 13, 2019
Ben Waterworth
FOX SPORTS
Richmond has faced its share of challenges in 2019 — but what confronts Damien Hardwick’s men on Thursday night might be the toughest task yet.
In the midst of an injury crisis — Richmond’s injury list now featured a whopping 17 players — the Tigers fly to South Australia to take on the in-form Adelaide Crows, who are being hyped as a potential top-four team and have just two players — Tom Lynch (calf) and Tom Doedee (knee reconstruction) — unavailable for selection.
Richmond’s entire leadership group — Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Alex Rance (knee) and Jack Riewoldt (knee) — is on the injury list. Shane Edwards — who led the team for a couple of weeks in the absence of the aforementioned trio — is also unavailable for the match due to hamstring awareness.
It means the Tigers will be led by Brownlow Medallist Dustin Martin for the first time in his 212-game career on Thursday night.
Martin will become the fourth Tiger to captain the club this season, equalling the club’s record, which has been done five times previously.
Considering Martin has performed inconsistently — by his lofty standards — so far this season and the team is coming off two poor losses to North Melbourne and Geelong, it seems an unideal time to throw the explosive midfielder the extra responsibility.
“They (the Tigers) are banged up. They’ve had a horror run with injury, all their stars are on the sidelines,” dual premiership Kangaroo David King told Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
“It’s going to be a one-man war (on Thursday) night: Dusty versus the world.”
But the AFL world has quickly learnt not to underestimate Hardwick’s troops.
This was particularly evident in Round 4, when the Tigers upset the highly-fancied Port Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval without ‘the big four’: Cotchin, Rance, Riewoldt and Martin. It again highlighted the strength of Hardwick’s system, which can be successful no matter which personnel are on the field.
It’s why Adelaide coach Don Pyke earlier this week said it would be foolish to write Richmond off as a spent force, noting his fifth-placed side and seventh-placed Tigers have both banked seven wins this season.
“They’re a dangerous team and we know what they’re capable of,” Pyke told reporters on Tuesday.
“They had a good win over here earlier in the year against Port so I’m sure they’re going to be coming over keen to atone for a couple of poor performances.
“And for us, we have won a couple (in a row). But there’s no guarantee.
“We have got to start at zero (points) again on Thursday night and earn our stripes.”
King tipped Adelaide to win by 20 points on Thursday night, but said the competition couldn’t afford to disregard the Tigers come September.
In fact, King labelled Richmond a flag “sleeper”.
“I just think they’re at a stage where they’re going to park themselves and say: ‘Right, let’s just have a look at this. Can we just narrow the focus to a six, seven-week run at winning the title and just make sure we get everyone back for Round 20, Round 21, two or three weeks together’ — whether that includes Rance or not will be the ultimate wildcard. If it does, they may just be the sleeper in the bottom bracket of the eight,” King said.
“They’re 7-5 at the moment, they’ll find a way to win enough games — we’ve got enough trust in them. You wouldn’t want to finish fifth and have a great year and come up against Richmond off a short stint finishing eighth. They’ll make a run.”
King said the Tigers were “a victim of circumstance”.
“There’ll be a no-risk policy,” he said.
“It’s just about the long game now. They’re lot’s they’re lot, just stick with your 50-50 win-loss ratio and then a six or seven-week campaign.”

Balta will be first ruck with Chol 2nd banana according to Dimma just now.
So that must mean Broad or Grimes will get one of Walker or Jenkins :-\. Chol then either plays as the floating ruck a kick behind the play in the space in front of their forwards or he plays up forward with Lynch.
-
Last year the Eagles lost 3 in a row then had a bye and we know how that season ended :shh
-
Balta too strong for their ruck and it's paid a free to them ::).
-
George :facepalm.
There the goals he needs to kick. Not spray them OOTF.
-
lol umpies not wasting any time
-
Nice work Chol
-
Chol :gotigers
Rich 1.0-6
Adel 0.0-0
Blow the siren :snidegrin.
-
If Balta isn't going to contest then he needs to be useful at ground level.
6 - 1.
-
Can someone tell Butler it's footy not soccer if he can't play soccer. Two airies that have given the ball back to the Crows :banghead.
-
LOL. We don't get HTB frees.
Mind you if we can't hit Caddy wide open then we only have ourselves to blame.
-
This umpire cannot find enough adelaide frees, he is going berserk
-
LOL he had his arms pinned by his sides in a bear hug...still no free
-
Butler point.
Prestia snap to Crows in the goalsquare.
Need to smarter than just bomb it.
7 - 1
-
is he meant to mark it with his face
-
That's better Butler. Finds Lynch 35 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 2.1-13
Adel 0.1-1

Be careful Owl, you'll been suspended from the Adelaide Oval :snidegrin.

We seem switched on early : ;D
-
Prestia needs to nail those
He's been good though thus far
-
Prestia on the run misses. Should have kicked that.
20 - 1
-
OMG we actually got a free!
-
Pathetic Houli
-
Mistackle by Menadue who then was pushed aside too easily lead to their goal.
20 - 7
-
Chol is having a good crack, would like to see him pull some of those marking attempts in,
-
Quarter time
Richmond 3.2-20
Adelaide 1.1-7
Goals: Lynch, Chol, Martin.
-
Butler makes Ellis look like Archer.... :shh
-
Mistackle by Menadue who then was pushed aside too easily lead to their goal.
20 - 7
5 years in and Menadue still tackles like a little girl
-
We're playing a more possession and marking game tonight. Very Hawthorn-like who have had success over the Crows over there.
Need to bring that effort and pressure for 3 more quarters and take all our chances in front of the sticks.
Chol has been good so far.
-
Butler makes Ellis look like Archer.... :shh
And Houli makes Butler look like Jono Brown....... :shh :shh
-
Mistackle by Menadue who then was pushed aside too easily lead to their goal.
20 - 7
5 years in and Menadue still tackles like a kettle girl
Needs a few tackle lessons from the AFLW/VFLW girls. They go in hard.
-
That umpy doesn't mind em tackling our blokes without the ball does he
-
Terrible defending. A high ball and we couldn't even get a spoil in.
LOL Jenkins :lol.
20 - 9
-
Butler makes Ellis look like Archer.... :shh
And Houli makes Butler look like Jono Brown....... :shh :shh
...and Menadud makes Houli look like he's storming the beach at Normandy.... :shh :shh :shh
-
Who's this silly lookin clown with the pedo moustache?
-
Terrible defending once again. Twice failed to fill the hole in front of the kicker :banghead.
Lucky they are missing.
20 - 10
We can't get it out of our defence.
-
Dusty footskills have been sublime tonight.
Rioli torp-attempt. Chol almost. rushed point.
21 - 10
-
Pathetic defending this quarter. 2 Tigers against 3 Crows in their goalsquare.
21 - 16
We're getting smashed in the clearances.
-
You can't fumble :banghead.
-
#FreeKickAdelaide
-
ROFL the idiot was hanging off of our players back like a backpack and HE got the free...this is out of control
-
Umpires doing their utmost to give Adelaide an armchair ride.
Holding Adelaide for the 20th time!
-
I am trying to stay calm but cannot for the life of me believe what I am watching.
-
Higgo you're have a shocker. Where was that handball to? :banghead.
21 - 24
-
Shocking by Menadue
Gifts them a goal from a pathetic kick
Coupled with Higgins pathetic handball
-
Shocking by Menadue
Gifts them a goal from a pathetic kick
Had Rioli on short.
-
Higgins, Butler and a few others need to wash their hands after consuming the KFC bucket!
-
LOL Lynch just killed some bastard, think he caved the back of his head in with his knee
-
Houli is the softest player to have ever played....
-
LOL Lynch just killed some bastard, think he caved the back of his head in with his knee
Lynch is doing really well
-
Chol switch of play was good.
Great mark by Lynch on the wing.
Butler banana from the pocket = goal :gotigers
We're back in front! :o
Rich 4.3-27
Adel 3.7-25
-
hes on fire
-
Great mark but not a great kick by Lynch. Chol off the side couldn't sneak it through.
28 - 25
-
OOTF by Crows.
George then kicks it OOTF having a shot :scream.
-
We get it back again. Chol's quick snap falls short and is rushed.
29 - 25
-
No one lead for Stack. Rushed.
30 - 25
-
Gee Chol shows glimpses of some magic and you think faaark he could be something, just not finishing off
-
Courageous by Balta. Stiff not to get a free.
Rioli :gotigers
Rich 5.6-36
Adel 3.7-25
-
Chol has shown more in one half than The Knockout King has in 5 years
-
Going well but big doubts on Garthwaite and Menadue as senior players. Garthwaites only a VFL standard player unfortunately.
-
Eddy knees Grimes in the balls and a useless free in their forward half on the siren sees the umpy tidy up his book a little bit to see out the quarter
-
Half-time
Richmond 3.2 5.6-36
Adelaide 1.1 3.7-25
Goals: Lynch, Chol, Martin, Butler, Rioli.
Got smashed for 20 mins but hung in there until we were able to switch the momentum and dominated the last 5 mins to kick the last two goals.
Chol has been very very good.
-
How good is Stack!
-
Chol having a "nearly blinder".... :shh
-
So far so good. I felt we could have gotten over run but credit to the boys to steady. Captain Martin leading from the front like an absolute jet
-
Going well but big doubts on Garthwaite and Menadue as senior players. Garthwaites only a VFL standard player unfortunately.
Calm down pal. He’s not even 21. Expected to take on the big boys. He’s literally our best KP back tonight. Plenty to learn.
Menadue I’m inclined to agree on.
-
The boys are having a crack at it! Gotta love that! ;D
-
Lynch making his critics eat their words tonight. Appears to gaining his confidence again with each mark.
How good is Stack!
He's so clean under pressure.
-
Chol having a "nearly blinder".... :shh
:shh
Reminds me of that time Houli nearly did something courageous.... :shh :shh
-
Yep, Im stoked with the new guys, they are doing well. Stack...sheesh, the dude is magic. I have no probs with the way they are going atm, they are going good.
-
Yep, Im stoked with the new guys, they are doing well. Stack...sheesh, the dude is magic. I have no probs with the way they are going atm, they are going good.
I'm half hoping for a few more ludicrous umpire calls to see what else The Artist Formerly Known As Owl can come up with in reply.... :shh
-
Going well but big doubts on Garthwaite and Menadue as senior players. Garthwaites only a VFL standard player unfortunately.
Kicking technique is Garth's issue at the moment. If he has time he's okay but when rushed or forced to kick precisely to advantage his awkward ball drop can make him misdirect his kicks. Still a young key defender so he's still learning. Rance's kicking early on was dodgy as well.
Menadue is not strong enough in the contest. Ordinary at tackling and gets pushed aside too easily. Pure outside player.
-
Yep, Im stoked with the new guys, they are doing well. Stack...sheesh, the dude is magic. I have no probs with the way they are going atm, they are going good.

-
Need to bring that effort and pressure for 3 2 more quarters and take all our chances in front of the sticks.
Same message for the second half.
Got to nullify the contested footy. Got smashed that 2nd quarter.
-
And the umpies are away...starting the quarter off with a lovely free kick to Adelaide
-
#FreeKickAdelaide to start the quarter ::).
LOL Douglas fends off in the tackle and it's not a HTB free ::).
-
Terrible Ellis. Drops the mark (instead of spoiling it through) and gifts the Crows a goal.
36 - 31
-
Poor pass by Dusty to baker forces a stoppage. Allows the Crows to go forward.
You've got to go and get the hard ball Menadue when Garth is holding off his man :scream.
36 - 38
-
I don think see i they in Garthwaite. Hes average at best.
-
This is dumb footy in defence :banghead.
36 - 45
-
he is a bit raw lol. stuff me we have just stopped out there, we look blown
-
They’re stepping through tackles at the moment.
-
how good was Houli's handball :clapping
-
The run is gone.
-
Butler selfish when he had to give it off by hand straight away :banghead
Can we actually pin an arm in a tackle and hold it :banghead. 3 weeks in a row where our tackling falls away.
36 - 51
-
Terrible Ellis. Drops the mark (instead of spoiling it through) and gifts the Crows a goal.
36 - 31
That is why he gets whacked by supporters, that was pathetic
Gave them the momentum
-
No idea Garthwaite
-
George a hog and hits the post. Had a teammate free.
37 - 51
-
How about the handball from Ellis unmanned in the centre to a player under the pump. Then Butler tries the no look handball to Adelaide who go forward for the goal! Wreaked of not wanting to take contact. Spineless!
-
Geez , what was that poo, they sliding off tackles like greasy seals
-
You could see this happening from about the 5 min mark of Q2. Its so obvious as your Watching.
I think even the club thought we were no chance and really just want to get to the bye with no more injuries.
-
Can we have some awareness when we kick the ball forward :banghead.
They go forward and we miss tackle after tackle to gift them another goal :banghead.
37 - 57
-
In the space of 10 seconds
BEllis a panic handball
Butler dropping the ball
Because they both were afraid of getting hurt (hit)
Games just about done now
-
Stack point.
38 - 57
-
Higgo another fumble.
-
Another nothing kick, helicopter kick by Higgins
-
Dusty :bow
-
Dusty shows the way
-
Take that freebie. Dusty intercepts a slow Crow pass and drills it :gotigers
Rich 6.8-44
Adel 8.9-57

Gee you're positive WP :lol
-
Gee you're positive WP :lol
Have been
Really proud of the effort tonight
But the soft efforts of a few can not be excused
-
Does George know what kicking to advantage is?
Anyway Lynch makes it good and finds Rioli 30 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 7.8-50
Adel 8.9-57
-
Well done Tom Lynch :clapping
-
Gez we play silly footy at times no composure and rushed and school boy stuff poor skills as and mistakes if only we clean that up.
-
Another stuff up by Butler :banghead.
-
Can anyone explain the holding ball against Graham?
Where was his prior?
-
Simple mistakes have been costly. Graham mistake at our HF allows the Crows in and they go down for a goal :banghead.
That was a harsh call on Graham HTB. We don't get that ::).
50 - 63
-
Menadue out
-
Can anyone explain how that was holding the ball? No prior and made a genuine effort.
-
Stupid looking biggles wannabe kicks a goal
-
BEllis flies again, does nothing and gifts the ball to the Crows
Been shocking tonight :banghead
-
BEllis flies again, does nothing and gifts the ball to the Crows
Been shocking tonight :banghead
Rubbish
-
Can anyone explain the holding ball against Graham?
Where was his prior?
That free was a joke but if Graham didn't make the basic skill erro 10 secs earlier it wouldn't have been paid in the first place. Butler and Graham mistakes in the last 3 mins have flipped the momentum.
Another goal to Adelaide.
50 - 69
-
BEllis flies again, does nothing and gifts the ball to the Crows
Been shocking tonight :banghead
Rubbish
So you think he has been good?
It's been BAD BEllis tonight
-
Our small forwards have forgotten what front and square is :banghead. Lynch is playing great tonight and yet when he brings the ball down we don't have anyone waiting front and square :banghead.
Anyway, Lynch takes a great mark and kicks the goal :gotigers.
Rich 8.8-56
Adel 10.9-69

Zero tackles in our attacking 50 so far.

Rubbish
So you think he has been good?
It's been BAD BEllis tonight
Average.
Do not dare try and claim the dropped mark or that spoil in the middle had anything to do with lack of effort. Left his man both times, which takes courage. Should have spoiled the first one and did effect the contest the 2nd time but it went to ground where Crows were, would have been an uncontested mark had he not made the effort to get there. Also took a courageous mark 5 mins prior
-
Anyone see Houli pull out again there
let's ignore it or blame Ellis
-
Ellis is s momentum killer back to his old ways.Him and Butler garbage.
-
Rioli just kick it. Prestia misses a gimme waiting to offload it.
57 - 70
-
3/4 time
Richmond 3.2 5.6 8.9-57
Adelaide 1.1 3.7 10.10-70

you're not the cheerleader of the Jack Higgins fan club are you?
-
LOL mofo dropped the mark and he paid it anyway to save them a goal, he dropped it right into Castagna's stuffing hands...
Was definitely a free kick to them

What did the Ellis’ put on for dinner tonight?

I will call out the dropped mark in the goalsquare early in the 3rd. That was pathetic. Gifted them a goal and gave them the momentum.
His handball to no one on the centre less than 2 minutes later because he panicked because he was about to get hit was woeful.
Stand by what I posted, tonight we are seeing bad BEllis and as senior player it is not unreasonable to expect better
-
Anyone see Houli pull out again there
let's ignore it or blame Ellis
Houli like BEllis has been poor.
-
Senior by age and experience
Not senior by expectations etc
Stack is 10 times the player Bellis will ever be
-
sweet stuffing Geez on a pushbike, they paid holding the man for us!
-
Butler poster.
58 - 70
-
They been doing it all night to us

LOL Caddy you freak!!!

Goal! :gotigers
Rich 9.10-64
Adel 10.10-70

How about these commentators there beating our vfl side if it was the opposite we would be getting crucified.
-
Senior by age and experience
Not senior by expectations etc
Stack is 10 times the player Bellis will ever be
I was only referring to age and number of games played
I no longer have expectations
-
It's dumb footy. You don't make Garth be the distributor. He's a key back. That's Houli and co.'s job.
-
Chol clearly pushed under the mark
-
Wasn't Chol pushed?
-
That's better BEllis
-
Wasn't Chol pushed?
Flap, flap play on
-
Stack kick insdie 50 overshoots and it's a point.
65 - 70
-
Butler's quick snap touched.
66 - 70
-
Come on tigers.
-
That non contest by Garthwaite on Jenkins could be the ball game
Just gave him too much of lead
-
Didn't work hard to get numbers across to prevent the switch :banghead
66 - 76
-
That non contest by Garthwaite on Jenkins could be the ball game
Just gave him too much of lead
He has no idea at this level right now
-
Menadue and Ellis panicking in our backline again.
-
Between Menadue and BEllis there :banghead
-
Add Higgo fumbling again.
-
Another fumble by Higgo.
-
Naish has no intensity defensively
-
Add Higgo fumbling again.
He's been shocking as well tonight
-
Need Dusty to do something right here right now
-
Butler fumble.
-
Another fumble costs us (Rioli) when we were out. The grimes coughs it up.
66 - 82
We've killed ourselves with our schoolboy mistakes.
-
BEllis goes backwards, Rioli fumbles
And Garthwaite loses Jenkins again
Game done
-
The Crows are two down on the bench by the way.
-
Was the right decision by Ellis, outnumbered forward
-
Beside Dusty our seniors no one really stepping up.
-
Was the right decision by Ellis, outnumbered forward
Error NO
Don't care who it was, we are behind we have to go forward every time.
I'd rather lose by 5-6 goals trying to win rather than losing by a goal because we refuse to attack
-
That’s the difference tonight, fumbling when we’re about to get out and clear.
-
Beside Dusty our seniors no one really stepping up.
Prestia, Lynch have been excellent
-
Ok they drop there heads now and they will rain goals, that is the poo I hate.
-
Was the right decision by Ellis, outnumbered forward
Error NO
Don't care who it was, we are behind we have to go forward every time.
I'd rather lose by 5-6 goals trying to win rather than losing by a goal because we refuse to attack
He chipped it wide, to someone who released Grimes who then turned it over. Don't blame him mate. You don't kick forward to out numbers
-
Pathetic! 2 on Jenkins and he is still able to gather and run around and kick a goal.
We look out on our feet despite having 2 extra guys on the bench. No urgency and not desperate enough. Too many passengers.
-
We seriously need to find another key position defender post Rance.
-
Was the right decision by Ellis, outnumbered forward
Never want to see this squib play for us again! Absolutely poos himself all the bloody time. Match killer with his sideways movement and inability to punch a high ball :banghead
-
That non contest by Garthwaite on Jenkins could be the ball game
Just gave him too much of lead
Garthwaite is not competitive at this level. Should be dropped.

Grease your arses up,
-
Ok they drop there heads now and they will rain goals, that is the poo I hate.
You predicted it Sir
-
Ellis you dikhed
-
Imagine Garthwaite high giving and hugging Jenkins
-
Seriously, for Higgins own sake he needs to go back the VFL to find form
It's getting worse every week
-
Now they are pulling goals out of their wazoo!
Beside Dusty our seniors no one really stepping up.
Prestia, Lynch have been excellent
In general play Prestia has been good but his misses in front of goal were poor. Not his fault we're going to lose though. Butler, Higgins and Menadue at the front of the queue. Balta has been disappointing tonight as well.
-
Prestia kicking tho let's us down.
-
Only Adelaide would injure three players in a desperate attempt to beat our vfl side lol stupid bastards
Big dumb tex took out 4 of his own mates choppers, one just did his knee and another one stuffed something up as well, and I think Lynch cracked someones skull
-
Was just about to say I am proud of the boys but the finish was pretty ordinary. Went from 10 to 35 very quickly.
Good news is we get a rest and we don't have to go through this again for 2 weeks!! Yay.
-
Easy to pick on Garth has no support around him what played 10 or 12 games.

Agree about Prestia misses. But in general play he was great.
Higgins, Butler, Menadue, BEllis very very poor.
Disappointing 2nd game by Naish

I've been very supportive of him, prepared to give him time
But tonight he looked so far out of his depth it was hard to watch
-
Crows win but it's a costly one for them losing two KPPs. Talia and Jenkins both injured.
As for us. Smashed in the contested footy again after 1/4 time. Bravely hung in for 2 more quarters. Had a chance to win 10 mins into the last when we were dominating the inside 50s but then caved as soon as they got one against the run of play. Not good enough.
1.5 to 5.1 in the last. Kicked 6.12 after 1/4 time. Not taking your chances is bad footy.
Final Score
Richmond 3.2 5.6 8.9 9.14-68
Adelaide 1.1 3.7 10.10 15.11-110
Goals: Lynch 2, Martin 2, Rioli 2, Chol, Butler, Caddy.
-
Naismith should be ok long term but look scared of the contest tonight
Needs to be confident to take a hit

Agree with Higgins and Ellis but harsh in the other 2. Just don't have enough class on field at the moment. Not sure Gathwaite will make it but he works hard.
-
I’m happy to see him smash the packs and go for marks and compete. He was much better.
-
All our smalls were absolutely horrid tonight. :shh

Urge you all to read his comments on #45............. :shh :shh

Buckle up for the second half of the season. If we can get enough quality back in time we are good enough to get deep into finals and anything can happen. If the young guys hold their places and the soft duds get the boot then it’ll be an exciting run home.

The nerve of this stuffin idiot to put off talks as if he is a superstar
What a stuffin squib. Goal in the square and another in the middle to the crows.
-
We were smashed in the Ruck tonight. Balta needs a spell.
-
If you were scouting for talent tonight you would put a line through Higgins purely due to his poor kicking and in ability to handle the ball. His form this is extremely concerning.
-
Beside Dusty our seniors no one really stepping up.
Prestia, Lynch have been excellent
Are you taking the pizz WP?
Prestia’s kicking tonight has been shocking.

His inside contested work was excellent.
Kicking for goal was shocking
But he won contested ball, he was at times with Dusty the only one who did
-
I reckon Garthwaite had 6 or 7 kicked on him tonight.
And the previous 2 weeks have been terrible too.
I know he is young, bla, bla, bla, he was non competitive.
If he is our next KPD in line after Rance and Astbury, we are in serious trouble.
He was as bad as it gets IMO.

Not even close.
He fumbled nearly as much as Higgins, and his tackling was Bellis like.
He is on $500k or more and he cannot hit a target 15m away.
Absolute pathetic tonight for a leader of the club.
-
Higgins was worst on tonight.
I have never seen an AFL footballer fumble as much as him tonight.
Time for a rest
-
Baker wasn't far behind on the fumbling front...even Bruce noted it...all the smalls were abysmal.... :shh

And then you get Sydney Stack as clean as a whistle in his 11th game.

11 Tigers last night with less than 50 games. Six with 13 games or less.
Crows had six with less than 50 games and only one with less than 20 (O'Brien 13).

Easy to pick on Garth has no support around him what played 10 or 12 games.
No one is picking on him. He is uncompetitive against opposition key forwards and he probably doesnt have the athletic ability to play on smaller quicker forwards.
To put it simply atm he is struggling to play at this level. Maybe he is just a VFL standard player and thats ok. There is nothing wrong with that.

I continue to be impressed with the quality of our football club and the players that represent it week-in week-out. A further example happened last night when Josh Jenkins obviously injured hi knee in terrible fashion whilst going for the ball. Our players, led by Grimes, went over to him after the game and offered their condolences one-on-one. We did this for Conca a few years ago but he was a Tiger player, I just hope the gesture of sportsmanship was not lost of th Adelaide supporters, we set the benchmark in this competition for sportsman like behaviour (even the high five by Stack to Eddie after a sensational goal was an example of sportsmanship that should be rewarded not criticised). If we see more examples of this on the field perhaps crowd behaviour might be a wee bit more balanced .... take note AFL.

They went over to him and asked him to do that trick he did again...but he couldn't get up his knee was sore but he saved the game for em with 2 seconds to go with his sacrifice
-
Tine to chill out and enjoy the week off. We will still make the 8. Won't win the flag but there are some young players coming through
I reckon the club will be investing in a mature age ready to go ruckman and 2 inside mids in the trade period.
-
Real positive for this year has been Stack. Really impressed by him. Also impressed by our tackling which has been good. I can not remember a time when we have had so many injuries. It is quite incredible that we managed to stay so close to an almost full strength Adelaide side at their home ground. Adelaide were only missing two players. We were missing 8 in the top 13 of the best and fairest count. With that many injuries to so many quality players you cannot expect that it won't impact on performance. Hopefully we have no more injuries and start to get players back. If Garthwaite had the support of Astbury and Rance then the situation would be a hell of alot different He is very inexperienced and he is being allocated the monster forward. Hopefully he gains valuable experience and uses that experience to become a good player for us.
-
Its good to see people coming around to this year being an educational and development year for our younger players. Its always been the case with the injuries that have occured.

Well said mate people a blind as a bat some here kids played what 12 games his playing on monster forwards it's a learning curve for him with no support around him to no idea some here.

Mate we got bigger issues then a young 2 year KP player playing on monster forwards with no support at all and still learning and developing.

I actually thought we’d be thrashed from the beginning of the game. So to only be 4 points down with all the momentum 10 minutes into the last was quite pleasing especially with so many youngsters in the team.
I’d say that even though we were completely smashed in contested possession I am somewhat pleased with the application of the team in keeping with our team standards of pressure.
Not great but a pretty good performance interstate.
-
People a missing the facts for me a lot of our senior players out there letting us down with there skills or turnovers or input that's the big issue for me.

It takes a mix of great players, good ordinary players and luck to win a premiership. Take out the luck and the great players and the good players just turn out to be ordinary. :rollin

There have been times in the last 3 weeks where regardless of who is in the side or not, Garthwaite just had to spoil the footy and failed to do it.
Just because someone is young and inexperienced doesn’t mean they get let off for not being able to preform simple skills.
IMO he was as bad as it gets last night.
-
Sadly I have to agree with that. People just want to make excuses for uncompetitive efforts. In AFL footy eexcuses dont count for squat.
-
I just watched the entire game again just to see if I saw a different picture with the passion taken out when watching it live.
I wanted to see if I had been too harsh on Garthwaite and if Bellis knew which end we were actually kicking to each quarter.
So after taking some stats of my own I had Garthwaite down for 7 goals 4 points kicked on him by his direct opponent at the time.
And one of those points was when Jenkins missed a goal from 15m out directly in front.
And I had Bellis down for 20 disposals with 13 of them either going sideways or backwards. So he only had 7 kicks or handballs that went forward!
FMD- that must be a record.
His 3rd quarter was especially horrible to the point I had to laugh. He does this stupid little shrug of his shoulders as if to blame someone else when he stuffed up.
I would be happy to never see him again in the Tigers colours.
And lastly Prestia’s kicking is woeful.
He had 4 shots at goal and missed everyone and his field kicking was just as bad.
