Title: Changes for the Bombers game next week?

Graham the one possible out.

Fire away with your changes?

Don't know about anyone else but I'm not risking Prestia or Cotchin before finals. If anyone else needs a rest--Vlastuin, Edwards, Riewoldt--then let 'em get some juice back in their legs.

Agree

Why not give RCD and Samson a crack

I’d also be tempted to rest the guys with a history of soft tissue injuries i.e lynch, Prestia, cotch, balta.

I can see why they wouldn’t want to do so though with the pre-finals bye meaning anyone rested won’t have played for 3 weeks.

If no one is rested I guess the obvious change is Ross in for Graham given there was no vfl this week.

I hope we take the opportunity to rest our most important players .

Nank and Prestia would be top of the list .
Cotchin deserves a spell .

Anyone with half a niggle

Yep. Good opportunity to rest prestia, cotchin, riewoldt, edwards, etc bring in tbe likes of rcd, dow, stack, banks debut, ee'll probably win anyway.

Unsure how wise a 2 week rest is.

I subscribe to cotton wool theory of avoiding injuries to a few at risk players. But in terms of 'rest' the 1 week break should achieve that. Gut feel 2 weeks rest is too much for that reason alone. But definitely can see benefit of taking liberty of playing it safe with Prestia Bank Lynch Cotch and Balta. Vlas too.

I think we will go in at full tilt.  Too risky with no footy for 3 weeks.

Agreed. Interesting Dimma mentioned Stack in the press conference and why he wasn’t available to be selected today. Think he is in their thinking :shh

I wouldn't be resting anyone. You don't flirt with form and there is a weeks break before the finals

Would only rest someone is they are playing somewhat injured.

Graham and Edwards out
RCD and Dow in, or maybe Stack

I really doubt edwards has an injury or concern. No way would they bring him back on in the last 5mins of a 10 goal win if there was any hint of anything.

We could play 12 guys including Colina and still beat Essendon if they bring what they did today.

IN: Stack

OUTS: Graham (inj), Castagna

Based on everything we've seen around selection the last 6-8 weeks RCD is absolutely no chance of being selected

Geez the way we have gone all year with form and consistency no way we can afford to play with it now.
They are winning so keep winning and play the best 22 dont mess with the form line.

The one exception i would make is Prestia cannot see us winning a final with out him.

Great opportunity to play RC-D but hey that won't happen hes on the outer. LMFAO Tthey would rather play the king of HACKS CASTAGNA.

Stack for castagna as medi sub would be a dream

What I think Richmond will do:

OUT:

Graham (Injured), Castagna

IN:

Ross or Stack

What I would do:

OUT:

Vlastuin, Prestia, Cotchin, Rioli, Lynch, Nankervis, Bolton, Graham (Inj), Pickett

IN:

Mansell, Collier-Dawkins, Ross, Clarke, Ryan, Soldo, Stack, Dow, Ralphsmith

My Round 23 Team v Essendon:

B:     Gibcus     Tarrant    Mansell

HB:     Ralphsmith     Balta     Broad (VC)

C:     McIntosh     Sonsie     Short

HF:     Stack     Miller     Cumberland

F:     Edwards (VC)     Riewoldt (C)     Rioli Junior

R:     Soldo     Ross     Collier-Dawkins

I:     Ryan    Dow    Clarke     Baker

Sub:     Castagna

Rotations:

Key Backs: Balta, Tarrant, Gibcus, Miller

Backs: Baker, Broad, Mansell, Ralphsmith, McIntosh

Midfield: Short, Dow, Baker, Sonsie, Ross, Collier-Dawkins, Edwards

Key Forwards: Miller, Ryan, Riewoldt, Soldo

Forwards: Clarke, Cumberland, Edwards, Stack, Short, Rioli Junior

Rucks: Soldo, Miller, Ryan

This isn’t flirting with forum, this is resting players who have niggles, soft-tissue issues and on the older side of age.

Good post torch. Nice team despite all the resting IMO. Still think we'd beat the druggos

Probably only 40 points haha.

Druggos are in the depths of despair atm. Hanging for the season to end so they can knife someone like Rutten in the back after what 18-24 months in the job.

So glad we aren't like that anymore.

There is always the curse of the stand in coach to consider

I think at this point Rutten is the stand in coach.

In the Mix: Round 23

Richmond had a comprehensive victory over Hawthorn, and it's close to impossible to find any weak links in the performance. Jack Graham will miss a handful of weeks with a foot injury, and substitute Jason Castagna is the perfect positional replacement at half-forward. The VFL side had a bye last weekend.

Verdict: Castagna for Graham.

To rest (Cotch, Lynch, Balta, Dion) or not to rest - that is the question.

Isn't there a week off before finals anyway?

Boys are in form. Finish strong and we all get a week off next week before we win the flag from 7th

If Tom, Dion or Noah re-injure their hammies they are out for the Elimination final not just next week.

I think it makes sense to rest them. Especially given how important each it to our structure.

But I understand the discussion around not flirting with form so its an interesting decision to be made.

i have a feeling we are going to put them to the sword early then put the feet up in the last, winning by 3-4 goals. In doing so give that rabble of a club some belief they are close to challenging so they sign up dudoro for 10 years.

Oh yes please.

One of those 'if only we had 5 more minutes' moments that I've enjoyed so much with Carlton in R1 the last decade or so.

Heppell to have 30 touches and sign a 3-year extension as well because why not.
