No Rocca, Tarrant, Prestigiacomo, Wakelin, Didak nor Guy Richards. The Pies spine apart from Fraser is pretty weak. Given they've been crap as well this year and with those outs, does anyone give us a chance tomorrow?
If we win, then with Hawthorn to come, we could lose our priority draft pick :-\
-
We have to try and win this game, and tank the Hawthorn match if we must.
-
The way Hawthorn are going you would have to not turn up to tank that game :-\.
As much as I love it when we beat the Pies I would rather this year we take the priority pick.
-
Stupid me forgot how dumb and slow we play.
Started off on fire with the first 3.3 ten zippo :-\
If it wasn't for Joel we'd be miles behind by now.
Nice goal Otto. Zantuck another one. Well we're back in it. Johnson standing up. Rodan, Fleming and Krakouer also lifting. Fleming ain't pretty but it's effective at the moment even though he's been carved up by Buckley.
-
Richo's having one of those days.
Zantuck is having another good game up forward against the Pies.
Scores level! 7-5 a piece.
-
half-time - amazing what happens when you don't stuff around with handballs and go direct. Zantuck caught out the Richo conscious Pie defence.
8.6 to 8.5
Goals: Zantuck 2, Rodan 2, Richo 1.3 (1 OOF), Otto 1, Krakouer 1, Hall 1.
Best: Bowden (bloody courageous today), Krakouer, Rodan, Johnson. Fleming and Ty moved forward got us back in it late in the 2nd quarter as well.
Otto looks like he's done his ankle :(

Gone for the day.
Pettifer probably gone for the rest of the year with a knee injury.
-
We're getting caught out with only one ruckman and Hall is a second string one at that.
I can't see us winning.
-
Is it me dreaming or does whoever we play seem to kick a goal at the very end of every quarter every week.
-
Nah you're not dreaming FF. Good sides have the concentration and discipline to play the whole quarter out and not concede soft goals in red-time. Mind you it doesn't help when the umpies ignore a head-high tackle then pay holding the ball when a bloke had no opportunity to get rid of it. Just like Archer last night.
We can't blame the umpires though. Hyde, Fiora and Dragga missed crucial gettable goals. Poor goalkicking = poor skills and it's just another thing we struggle at.
Fraser had 6 hitouts and McKee 5. We've getting killed there.
-
Point worth raising fish !
Its happened a bit from what i can remember, probably not every qtr....maybe 3 out of 4 . :scream
-
AK, Gas, Houlihan and Fiora give us nothing.
lol @ me just typing that and then Houlihan kicks a goal.
-
Another miss ::). Thankfully Richo worked his guts out to get a fist to the kick out and it's back to 13 pts.
Our workrate's been good today but our skills are shocking as well as our goalkicking as usual. We're our own worse enemy.
The rules suck by the way. Krakouer gets pinged for a ruck infringement because the boundary umpire through a short throw and it fell to him. What a joke! >:(
Hey btw Mark Stevens. Richo one free kick and that was in the last quarter. Yeah it resulted in a goal. Gee wizz that backs up your argument ::)
OMG Houlihan's got it again :lol but missed :banghead
Richo's now missed!
-
Another miss. @#$% :scream
I'd just like to say as Zantuck has a chance to put us in front that the umpring has been very good the last 5 minutes :lol :thumbsup
Hell we're IN FRONT!
-
What were saying Fish. 40 bloody seconds and they get the winning goal :scream
Listen to those Pie fans. They sound like they've just won the flag ::).
Well at least we know our priority pick is almost safe.
-
When there's a couple of minutes tops to go and you're 1 point up you'd surely totally flood the oppositions forward line.
We have been the match stifling experts for 4 years but didn't do it for the last minute today.
For the first time ever I was not traumatised after losing to Collingwood. It hit me after the game how much I want the priority pick. Not saying we would or should be tanking but the system sucks and we need it to work for us while we're not good enough.
-
Fantastic effort Tiges - you would have impressed your new coach enormously.
Some shocking umpiring decisions - well shocking rules that can ruin a game.
-
I feel like killing someone right now, but this is best for the future.

Hope the Hawks have a shocker tomorrow :thumbsup
Agree froars that some of the rules now are against the spirit of the game. You can't blame the umpies for those. Although you can blame the umpire that paid holding the ball against Fiora just on 3/4 time when instead Fiora had his read pulled off. Proved to be costly in the end.

The other thing you need to make sure of is that you have blokes on the ground to mop up after a marking contest. I know I am highly critical of Chaffey but..............
With 40 seconds to go and Bowden's backing back into a pack (again) Chaffey flying for the same mark and making us one short on the ground was costly IMO

It's for the best, it's for the best' it's for the best, (but how sweet it would have been to beat the b**t**ds by a point!) :shh

The game changed at the start of the third with ottens off.
Two late frees which weren't there in front of goal for the pies late in the qtr proved costly.
Johnson,Bowden and Newman are defnitely my choices to be with us next year.
Hyde and the ever improving Rodan are not far behind.
Zantuck seems to provide an interesting foward option. He has good upper body strength and uses this to his advantage in one on one situations.Undecided about him at present.
Houlihan missed that sitter in the last and that moment sums up his time at Tigerland.
Gaspar is a finished player at Richmond.Send him back to the Fockers please.
