Spare a thought for the poor old Miami Dolphins fans in the NFL.
After the completion of 16 rounds and the H&A season the Dolphins won 1 game :o
Compare this to the New England Patriots who went 16-0 - yep didn't lose a game.

Some might say we had only won one game after 16 rounds :shh.

Derby County in the EPL has only won 1 game out of 21.
Currently they are on 7 points with 1 win and 4 draws and are on track
to eclipse Sunderland's record haul of 15 points for the entire season in 2005/06.
Just for the record Sunderland had 3 wins 6 draws and 29 losses in thier 38 game season list.

Errr....... Derby County is my team in England :'( :'( :'(
There seems to be a pattern here doesn't it :rollin
-
One of the reasons I'm glad we don't have 30 rounds. It's bad enough watching 22 games when Richmond has a horror year like last year.
Incredible effort by the Patriots btw. They're going for 4 Superbowl win in 6 years too.
-
New England has now made it 17 wins in a row. They need to get past San Diego and then either Green Bay or the Giants in the Superbowl to go through the whole season undefeated.

They will MT now that the chokers in Indianapolis are out who were their greatest threat.
It will be a New England vs Green Bay Final pitting quarterback legend Brett Favre in his swansong against the incumbent no 1 if he already aint there in Tom Brady. In 1972 the Maimi Dolphins went undefeated in the season only to lose the superbowl. How cruel is that?Indianapolis have lost 7 games in 3 seasons yet only have 1 superbowl. Sport can be very very cruel.

Yep sport can be cruel. Learnt that in 1982 :P
If it turns out Patriots vs Packers then it could go down as one of the greatest Superbowls ever. The two greatest quarterbacks of the modern 21st century era go head to head. A promoter's dream. Brady would be going for his 4th Superbowl champion ring which would given him the record along with legendary quarterbacks Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw.
-
New England are still undefeated and through to the Superbowl. 21-12 over San Diego.
Packers and Giants are going down to the wire. 20 all with 5 minutes left.
-
Sadly the Brady vs Favre promoters dream won't happen. New York through in overtime 23-20.

NY Giants Eli Manning can maybe emulate the achievement of his brother from last years superbowl (Peyton Manning) and be part of superbowl winning team. Although they have momentum and have beaten better credentialled opponents away from home the task seems too much. They came in having been ranked 6 and beat Tampa Bay , no 1 ranked NFC Dallas and no 2 ranked Green Bay. Having said this I still think New England will romp home but only two years ago the Pittsburgh Steelers won the superbowl having been the 6th ranked team in the AFC going into the playoffs so it has been done before although the AFC is much much stronger than the NFC, but nevertheless good luck to Giants. They will need it.
I merely envy the week off the competing superbowl teams get in some tropical paradise relaxing with bikini clad girls all around them attending all their needs both mental and of course physical. :cheers Some blokes have all the luck :thumbsup
You would think that these sort of distractions in the week leading up to the biggest game of the year would have an adverse effect on the players. :rollin :lol :rollin

Richmond and Derby County also have another thing in common.
Both won their last premiership in 1980.

And Derby are about to win their 2007/08 spoon.
Relegation here they come :'(

They need 9 points in 15 games WP to avoid having the fewest number of points ever in a premiership season.

The Giants have supposedly won something like 10 straight away games :o but yeah it would be a massive upset if they were to beat New England. Manning at least can say he led his team to the Superbowl 5 years sooner than his brother did.
-
The Giants have done really well to put heaps of pressure on Brady so far. Patriots up 7-3 just after half-time.
-
crap game period.
NFL is so policed its almost like walking down the street in Southern California
-
Can be one of the most boring games on Earth Ox but this is probably the best Superbowl ever. Giants get a touchdown with just 35 seconds left to lead 17-14.
-
Giants win! :o
Eli Manning joins his brother as a Superbowl winning quarterback. Poor New England loses in the game that matters.

LMAOO@The New York Jews winning...
Jewish owned team wins again - What a surprise! :lol
MVP ? - Lets give it to the kid named,"Elijah"
Robert Tisch must be laffing into his yammakah from the big bagel store in the sky.
I had it on all arvo here and was only compelled to tune in for the last 3 minutes...which too 30 minutes in actuallity.
-
Biggest upset in American Sporting history.
New England now join the Miami Dolphin Team of 1972 to go through undefeated only yo lose the Superbowl. Oh well to draw pararllel lines to AFL is like Collingwood beating Melbourne in the 1958 Grannie.
-
I prefer to think of GFs the Pies choked in :lol.
New England will be banging their heads over that one play that set up the winning touchdown where the Patriots had Manning all but sacked yet he somehow gets free, breaks free from his guernsey being pulled then guns a throw where it's caught Aussie Rules style by the receiver 30 yards down field.

Roflbowl @ the NY dude proclaiming them being 'WORLD' Champs.
Do any other countries play Gridion ? Even if they dont fair dinkum.
Kind of like the Cats saying they are world champs :rollin
Same as the MLB (I like the game) but world series plueez
As for the game YAWNFEST, mazing fans stay sober enough 2 see the end result.

Not a real fan of NFL but been following the games on Ch 10's HD channel. Ben Graham should buy a lotto ticket. Dumped then reinstated then dumped again by his former team before getting picked up by Arizona at the last minute and now he is one game away from playing in the Superbowl. If Phillie wins this morning (Sav Rocca's team) then we'll have both punters in the NFC game next week being former AFL players with the winner heading to the Superbowl.
-
watched the NFL yesterday on FOX
Was super impressed with Arizona, they played a great game
-
Phillie won so it's Graham vs Rocca next week and one of them will be playing in the Superbowl. Tivs long raking left foot missed his calling lol.
-
Could be a Pennsylvania derby in the superbowl with Pittsburgh playing off with Baltimore for the AFC title and Philly away to Arizona for the AFC.
Personally I think Pittsburgh who incidently wear black and yellow and are my team will win the superbowl.
In 1980 Pittsburgh won the Superbowl and Richmond won the flag and even though the Steelers won in 2006 I'm hoping for a black and yellow double this year. :pray
-
Arizona beat Philadelphia 32-25 to advance to Super Bowl.
Pittsburgh is up 13-7 at half-time.
-
The Yellow and blacks won 23-14 ;D. Pittsburgh vs Arizona in the Superbowl.
Congrats to Ben Graham btw. The first Aussie to play in the Superbowl isn't it?

Arizona 14
6 minutes in the game to go. Arizona with the ball.

Touchdown Arizona.

Touchdown Pittsburgh with just 35 seconds to go.
Pittsburgh 27
Arizona 23

27-23 is the final score.
The Yellow and Blacks win ;D
-
The Yellow and Blacks win ;D
Hopefully a good omen for 2009 :thumbsup.
Bad luck to Graham. Most of his punts were good. The Arizona defence gave away too many costly penalties while Pittsburgh was always able to pull out the big play or 1st down when they needed it. That interception right on half-time in the end cost the Cardinals the game.
-
I hate soccer but I know I would watch that before the NFL. Even curling or a game of chess which I doont understand I will add that sycronised swimming in before this game, wow run a meter and make a big deal of it.
The most pointless game in history.

Graeme Bond's son is going to tryout with the Green Bay Packers as a punter. They showed him on the news tonight.

Aussie punting invasion continues
Chris de Kretser | April 15, 2009 03:10pm
THE son of a former Richmond star is latest Australian to crack the world of NFL punting.
Jy Bond has been signed by the Miami Dolphins as a punter in America's National Football League.
Bond, 30, is the son of former Richmond premiership player and 3AW football commentator Graeme Bond.
He was drafted by Richmond under the father-son rule, but only played for the Tigers' reserves team.
He spent the past three years getting intensive punting training before moving to the US to try his luck.

no, he wasn't
-
To be honest with you all I don't see the fuss over that crap game.
Run a meter and put the ball down and they go out of their tiny minds.
I hate it.
I use to hate the NRL but I like that.
But I know I will never like that game of Grid Iron.
-
Well the Saints in the US didn't choke in the big one unlike St Kilda lol. Quite amazing New Orleans have sealed the NFC championship and Superbowl from interceptions picking off Favre and Manning.
Also once again the Superbowl with the Who reminds us how lame our GF half-time entertainment is :yep.

Pittsburgh is yellow and black. It's hard to go against those colours ;).
There's even a hip hop song called funnily enough "black and yellow" with their fans waving their Y&B "terrible" towels. Some of the younger posters on BF want us to chant the chorus but they're kidding if they thing the AFL will allow those verse lyrics played over the PA at the 'G :nup.

Love the colours but hate the team. Go Packers.

Green Bay won 31-25
-
Wid Card round
Cincinatti Bengals vs Houston Texans
Pittsburg Steelers vs Denver Bronco's
Detroit Lions vs New Orleans Saints
Atlanta Falcons vs New York Giants
What a last round of the season proper. Bengals get into the playoffs without winning and probably playing the easiest team of all the teams in the playoffs.. Houston only limped into the playoffs losing their last 3 games and their QB with injury worries :clapping Although Houston's last win was against the Begals.
Go Bengals
-
Green Bay v New England will probably be the superbowl but I would never discount the Steelers getting there. Very experienced side also at this stage of the season.
Would love to see New Orleans get there. I think Drew Brees is an absolute gun. :thumbsup
-
The quirks of the conference system make it tougher for Pittsburgh. They finished 12-4 but were pipped by Baltimore on head-to-head record in their division and so now Pittsburgh has to play away at Denver despite the Broncos far poorer 8-8 record.
WP will be on the Bengals bandwagon Bengal ;D.
-
Stars to beat Renegades for mine.
-
Mighty Ducks. In extra time.
-
Very disappointing effort by the Bengals, the word choke comes to mind
As a long time Bengals fan ( read LONG SUFFERING) I thought the game was over at half time
Sadly there is no other team in the NFL that can implode like the Bengals when the heats on
-
Stop complaining and support your team.
-
Stop complaining and support your team.
The one thing about me that you should never question is my support of the teams I follow >:(
I've been following the Bengals of 30 odd years and they've been a basket case for 20 odd years and I haven't dropped off them
I have every right to be disppointed about what they dished up today
-
I have the right to say whatever I want, I'm Coach. You need to show some backbone. You need to support your club like a man. Pot shots are not the way. You can be disappointed, but show some respect.
-
you're a bad boy, bubby.
-
Not a big watcher of NFL but watched because Bengals are my obvious team of choice.
Not knowing much about the game, thought they were on top until that intercept just on 1/2 time and as stated just imploded from there. :banghead
Oh well back to no interest ......
-
New Orleans at least has semi-decent colours ;) although it's gold rather than yellow.
-

Lost at home to the Steelers in the playoffs in 2006 in the first round at home WP.
The club has never recovered from that Superbowl loss to San Francisco in 1989 with 20 seconds to go.
New Orleans looked good.
San Francisco v New Orleans next week will be a ripper. :thumbsup
-
go the 69ers!
-
:lol
-
I'm more of a Raspberry Beret kinda guy
-
Bah Lions. Bah Pistons. Yay Wingers :thumbsup
-
Tebow does it again.
Trying to think of any Aussie Rules draftee who like Tebow was a gun junior yet was written off by many experts/recruiters as far as playing at the pro level but comes in and is a major factor in his side making the finals in his debut season. The only one I can think of is Joel Selwood as some recruiters were concerned about his knees holding up in senior footy.
-
Next week Brady vs Tebow. I think the Patriots are going through... Very easily. :thumbsup
I get the feeling the New Orleans will beat the 49ers. :thumbsup
Brees has been in awesome form and New Orleans have been racking up the touchdowns as a result.
-
go the 69ers!
Plenty of huggable and kissable minge there.
-
The 49ers knocked over New Orleans with just 14 seconds to go to win 36-32 after NO came back from 17 points down to grab the lead twice in the last quarter.
-
Patriots smashed Denver 45-10. Brady threw 5 TD passes in the first half.
-
Does anyone else think USA media have blown Tim Tebow's religion and his one knee kneel praying style way over the top. I swear its getting more coverage then the games are that his actually playing.
-
The NY Giants have knocked over the Packers 37-20.
-

Sucked in Packers :lol

Experts wil say biggest upset of the 2011 NFL season

They probably have but I don't think young Tim has helped matters. Now he actually seems to be milking it a fair bit. Granted in interviews it is usually being brought up by the media but when the media isn't asking about it he seems to bring up his religious beliefs all by himself.
-
NY have been very inconsisten this season. Their best is right up there with Eli Manning but they have also lost a few games to sides you'd expect a playoff bound side to beat. That's why they only just scraped into the playoffs.
Baltimore beat Houston so they travel to New England next week.
-
Brady and the Patriots are off to another Super Bowl after getting over Baltimore 23-20.
The 49ers have taken the lead in the 3rd qtr 14-10 against NY.
-
Giants win with the a field goal in overtime 20-17.
So it'll be New England vs NY Giants in the Super Bowl.
-
I might back the Pats. It would be good to see them get one and the Giants' form is too hot and cold. :cheers
-
Get one? They won three in a row just recently. ;D
Prefer the Giants but it's the Pats bowl to lose.
Good state rivalry in this one too.
-
At first I was confused... then I realised I left out 'another,' as in, good to see them get another one
I just like it when anyone except the Packers get it :P
-
The poor kick returner for San Francisco will have to move to Brazil lol after costing them a trip to the Super Bowl. NFL fans are pretty unforgiving. Especially as they missed out when the possession was turned over because the ball glanced the kick returner's knee :wallywink. If he had got out of the way the 49ers would've had possession and most likely closed out the game as they were leading at the time. The turnover cost them a touchdown. To make matters worse the kick returner then dropped the ball in OT which lead to the Giants' winning field goal.
-
Eli Manning does it again against the Patriots in a Super Bowl.
NY Giants won 21-17.
-
Madonna will be touching herself after that win.
The Ferris Ad is an absolute beauty
-
Congrats to the Giants in what sounded like a close one. Got it recorded and look forward to watching it :)

I know everyone was watching the baseball over the weekend, but anyone catch any College ball? Texas AM v Louisiana Tech, holy poo what a game.
-

Sorry I missed it. But I did see the Steelers lose a close one at Tennessee.
The boys are really missed Polamalu and injuries are really killing us so early in the year. Hopefully they'll be able to turn it around.
-
I didn't catch any pro games on the weekend (ESPN hardly show Lions >:() but in TAM v LT, LT were down by 27 at half time. The lead kept shrinking and extending. It seemed in the bag but LT scored a 13yd TD with 38 seconds left on the clock at 59-57 to TAM. The final play was an incomplete pass in LT's TDZ and TAM took the win. Something like over 1,200 combined yard match.

Sounded like an excellent high scoring game, from the sound of it the defenses weren't too strong.
I caught some of the lions v eagles match live on channel ONE on the weekend. It looked a very good game from what I saw. Again I'm spewing I missed the whole game, your lions got the chocolates with a winning field goal in OT.

Problem with Pittsburgh too Mr Tigra is they have a great D and yes they are missing Polamalu but I just don't rate Roethlesberger. Gets sacked too many times.
Although if there is a time who can recover in the AFC its the Steelers. Remember 2006 won in the playoffs away to Bengals the choking Colts and then the Broncos to beat Seattle in the Superbowl and send Jerome Bettis off in style.
I think Green Bay are dangerous in the NFC and I think they can go one better and make the Superbowl this year.
As for my team the Washington Redskins they just let me down year in year out regardless of coach or playing roster and other than a few players. Although RG3 has been great for us we have no serious defense and that will be our downfall.
How about Peyton Manning at Denver today leading the Chargers back from 24-0 to beat the perennial underachievers San Diego 35-24. :thumbsup
-
Well for my team the Bengals it seems like it's going to be the same old same old
Hopes up at the start of the season and now 6 weeks in I'm thinking here we go again
Fancy getting beaten by Cleveland who hadn't won in 12 months
:banghead :banghead

C'mon Tucker! He has BBQ sauce and a burger named after him.
On a serious note I think he is one of the best QB. He's currently holding the Steelers together at the minute.

Everyone in the States in pro footy has a burger named after them lol. :thumbsup
Gotta admit the Pittsburgh aura is not what it used to be 5 yrs ago. Even last season they just couldn't get it together. Always dangerous at home though.
I just think someone like Green Bay can go all the way. their QB ATM is the best in e NFL.

Despite the Steelers incredibly poor away record this season and up to 5 starters out with injury I think it's very important that my boys beat the Bengals tonight or our season is well and truly stuffed.

Not quite sure scores tied at 17 all at the end of the 3rd and then the go ahead touchdown and conversion being scored with about 14 minutes to go in the 4th equates to my mob being "killed easily" but I'll let you gloat ;D
Actually to make things worse for Bengals' fans we were ahead by 11 points early in the the game :banghead :banghead
-
Watching Seahawks v Vikings. Is Christian Ponder the softest QB in NFL? :lol
-
Big come from behind win by the Steelers away game against the defending champions NY Giants 24-20.
2 touchdowns in the final term, a dump-off pass to Mike Wallace turned into a 51-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter that closed the gap to 20-17.
I wonder if the stress of the storms had anything to do with the Giants form? Anyway it was still a great and much needed win.
Now we sit second behind the ravens and get to play the Kansas City chiefs 1-7 @ home should be any easy win. :thumbsup
-
lucky enough to go to the Niners v Bears game last week, stuffing unreal
another good win today, Kaepernick getting the job done even though Smith is fit, building some options :cheers

Am absolutely gutted after todays loss.. We had and then stuffed it up in the last qtr
-

Yep unforgivable
Can't see us making the playoffs now, actually didn't think we would make it after the insipid start we had but now - blew a massive opportunity today
-
In the same boat too. After a ripping start, a 5th straight loss to the Lions. Need Suh to flatten some more QBs.

Just checked the Red Wings' first 4 games since it starts in 2 days after the lengthy season cancellation (good thing the AFLPA and AFL came to agreement in the CBA lol) and since the Lions have been disappointing.. have the Preds first up who knocked us out of the 11/12 playoffs, then the Kings, Islanders and Blue Jackets. Will probably be 3-1 :banghead :banghead No surprises with the Pistons either ::)
-
Am absolutely gutted after todays loss.. We had and then stuffed it up in the last qtr
Yep unforgivable
Can't see us making the playoffs now, actually didn't think we would make it after the insipid start we had but now - blew a massive opportunity today
Effn Romo, he's like yo yo, he's up he's down and he then he pulls out that last 10 minutes,, although it was a big stuff up by the Bengals
-
The replay is on at the moment on Fox. Can see why you blokes are spewin. But even when Dalton got sacked, he could of got sacked on at least the play or two before. Poor effort from the DTs. Even poorer covering, Cowboys are having a field day passing over single coverage.

Stopped following the daily soap opera that was the NHL strike a month back, so I wasn't aware that it was over.
Maybe a shorter season will mean the Maple Leafs can conjure up something of a miracle and make the playoffs ;D

From CBS Sports:
NHL lockout: NHL cancels games through Dec. 30
By Brian Stubits | Blogger
December 10, 2012 11:08 am ET
As expected, the NHL canceled another round of games, those scheduled Dec. 15-30 on Monday. The league made the announcement after a report earlier in the day from TSN's Darren Dreger.
The move is perhaps overdue, seeing how the league's last cancellation left games on the schedule as soon as this coming Friday. But after talks broke off Thursday, we knew there was no way it would be possible for a season to begin that quickly.
Stating the obvious, it also means the hopes for games to be played in 2012 aren't totally gone. After all, they could play games on New Year's Eve.
This latest cancellation brings about a couple of questions. Is the fact that the NHL decided to go with only two weeks -- instead of four weeks and into the middle of January -- a good sign? The case can definitely be made. If there were zero optimism that a deal could get done, they might have taken a bigger chunk of the schedule. Then again, the NHL's M.O. during this lockout has typically been to cancel two weeks at a time, so this doesn't deviate a whole lot from the script.

Oh wow :banghead what a mess.
-
Ok again for the 2nd year running it comes down to the Steelers game to make sure of a playoff spot.. :pray stuff i hope its a better result than last year..
Although Bengals looked ordinary in the 1st half the 2nd was dominant, lets hope it holds up after a 10 day break
-
Unreal game between the Niners and pats right now
-
Not good enough Brady ;D
Niners :cheers
-
:banghead Can't wait to have a few weeks off work to catch some more games.

i would almost go as far to say that they need to win 1 of the next 2.. Steelers and Ravens... Going to be a tough gig but they have been in form and both the Steelers and Ravens have lost form, particularly the Steelers. Fingers crossed. If they win both they're a chance at the AFC north title.. Thats why it was so gut wrenching to lose to the cowboys
My thought is the Bengals have a huge mental barrier to cross. If they do, they could go deep into the playoffs
The NFL has directed the club to send out invoices for a home final.... Who Dey

Heads up.. Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinatti Bengals LIVE free to air on one hd

Ravens have lost their last three. In AFL terms e Bengals would be playing mini elimination finals this week and next week.

Possibly, I just think the impact RG3 has had this year has transformed us and given Kirk Cousins our rookie understudy has come in and had an impact immediately producing the match winning TD against Baltimore after RG3 limped off and had 4 TD's against the Browns last week has just made us a legitimate playoff team this season with a chance to make a real impact for the first time in a long time.
Right now I think the 49's can go one better than last year and make the Superbowl. Unless they meet the Redskins. :thumbsup
-
It says a lot about the Skins Offensive line as well,, My only pick on RB3 is that he takes a long time to make a decision sometimes.. he is lucky he can evade well.. havent seen Cousins
As for playoffs they're thereabouts same as the Bengals. Fingers crossed for a Bengals v Redskin Superbowl
-
Niners V Broncos superbowl if you ask me – long way to go though :pray
Good call, but what about the Falcons? Ripping form. Seahawks on the wild card would be a good chance to at least make the NFC final.
Falcons v Lions about to start. Not sure if I'll be able to watch all this :help :lol
-
Bloody hell. Johnson the only reason worth watching. No Pettigrew or anything.

Falcons were in ripping form a few years back at 13-3 and lost at home 24-2 in the first week I think to the Giants. Chokers IMHO. Seattle are just looking awesome at the moment and are monstering some teams ATM. In the NFC the race for the last two wild cards will go down to the wire in the Washington v Dallas game.
I still can't say no to Bellichik, Brady and the Patriots to get to another Superbowl, they just keep on keeping on. Unbelievable team. :thumbsup
-
Can't deny Matt Ryan's passing at the moment though. Good mature team currently as well. Can't wait for 49ers v Seahawks tomorrow but.
-
they big games this weekend are 49ers v seahawks and bengals at steelers.. And lets not forget giants and Ravens as well. All huge games and will be high quality.. Watched the Falcons today and wasnt that impressed with them against a 2nd rate defence. Lions went to Johnson way to much to get him over the line for the record.. Even though falcons won 31-18 they only had to capitalize on poor lions defence.. A good side would never have let a receiver on such a poor team get 225 yards in a game..
-
I reckon they just let Johnson do his thing because he wasn't damaging. He only required single coverage as the DTs were pretty average and Stafford was more often than not throwing under pressure. Don't forget how good Johnson really is too. Suh has given me the poos this season. Bring on last season's form please. It looked like the Falcons just played really conservative and did just enough for the win. Every time they were third and long Ryan managed to throw a first down.
Reckon that if Lions can manage to hold on to Stafford and Johnson, with a fit Pettigrew and an in form Suh, once these geriatric DTs bugger off and we get a real FB, we will finally have the nucleus of a good side. Keeping my fingers crossed that since the best QBs still have a few seasons left in them and there are a heap of really good rookie QBs coming through, that we'll be able to hold on to Stafford after this season.

Agree wait till they play a team also with a half decent D in the NFC playoffs like Green Bay, New York or San Francisco and Atlanta will be like Port Adelaide of 2001/02/03. Choke choke choke. What has helped Atlanta in their division is e tipsy turfy form of New Orleans despite the brilliance of Brees. The NO controversy has has not helped them.

oooohhh yeah,, what a game.. Defences on both sides were awesome.. Bengals in the playoffs. :clapping :cheers massive last play of the game - Dalton to AJ
Goodbye Steelers

Well done Bengals. :cheers
Good to see Baltimore giving the Giants a hiding.
Now for the Redskins to beat the Cowboys next week and clinch our playoff spot and division. :thumbsup
Settling in now to watch San Francisco vs Seattle. Go 49's.
I love being on holidays. :cheers

Yeah I agree Dwaino, 49's will clinch division anyway but a Seattle win clinches a playoff berth. They have more to play for this week. Will be a huge game in week 1 of the playoffs in Washington against the Seahawks, they have been awesome in the last month.
Love being on holidays can catch up with the NBA also, pity about the NHL. Love my American sports. :cheers
-
Seattle 21-0 up 14 left in the 2nd. Looking awesome. :clapping
Lucky SF playing Arizona next week otherwise division title would be on the line.
Seattle are just unbelievable.
-
I reckon they've been the real deal all season. Doesn't hurt that Lynch is a one man at too.
-
I reckon they've been the real deal all year. Doesn't hurt that Lynch is a one man at too.
Flown under the radar and are beating a team of quality ATM. Making SF look like crap. Their D is sensational atm. Won their last 7 or 8 in a row.
-
Just a really complete team and always exciting to watch. And how about that crowd lol. 49ers really struggling with it and having to burn all their TOs
-
I'm throwing it out there.. i think the Bengals will beat the Ravens 2 weeks in a row :pray
-
Redskins vs Cowboys is live on ONE HD now. Playing for the final spot in the playoffs.
-
Go Redskins. :thumbsup
Washington 28 Dallas 18. :clapping
Once again Tony Romo fails in a one off game and on the back of RG3 at QB and Morris receiving we wore down the Cowboys. Robert Jacksons intercept from Romo when the score was 21-18 was critical after Sav Rocca had gone a head high tackle costing us a 15 yard penalty.
We win NFC East for the first time since 1999 and are at home to Seattle in week 1 of the playoffs. :cheers
-
Haven't watched a single game this weekend. Disgusting season. Finished off by going down by two to divisional rivals and all round tossers, Chicago. Hopefully next year we'll be able to play blokes not from the training squad.
In other news, ventured out to Knox city today. That was an experience. Never seen so many NFL and NBA hats in my life. I hate fashion trends.
-
What a disappointing game.. Lot of players rested in the game. Nothing to take out of it.
Texans again in the playoffs.. Bengals look in better shape than last year.
-
7 head coach sackings. Unfortunately, none of them from Detroit :-\ only 3 line coaches
-
Seattle v skins should be an awesome game
-
7 head coach sackings. Unfortunately, none of them from Detroit :-\ only 3 line coaches
They don't muck around over there do they. Private owners don't believe in rebuilding ;D.

No need for rebuilding in the NFL.. If you got the money you buy in free agents. Grab a couple of high draft picks, say like a young QB and a gun wide receiver.. Bring in a great defensive coach and wammo you're in the the next playoff. Just like the Bengals did.
-
Wild card weekend tips?
Going Texans over Bengals, but finding this one hard to split. Bengals starting def 4 are a brick wall, but JJ Watts is a wall unto himself. Schaub been average though.
Packers over Vikings. Ponder might not even play yet yeah?
Seahawks over Redskins. Will be a good game and RG3 is on song. Just reckon Seahawks are one of the most complete and all round teams this season and could go all the way. Lynch, Wilson etc just too good.
Ravens over Colts. Colts would be feel good story of the year but they've got their hands full here.
NFL Kickoff 2-Minute Drill on ESPN predicting Ravens v 49ers Superbowl.
He's also backing Bengals, Packers, Ravens, Redskins this weekend. Most of the panel pumping up the Seahawks but their dubious road record might not be in their favour.
-
Texans
Skins - toss of a coin, should be a great game
Vikes - cause I hate the pack and they have a poor at home playoff record recently ;D
Ravens
But like your picks Dwaino :thumbsup
-
:thumbsup
Seahawks v skins my game of the round. Can't wait till Monday :cheers I don't get to watch the Monday (Sunday night) games usually but still one more week of holidays ;D
-
Looking fwd to it too - unfortunately going to the tennis tomorrow so will have to watch tomorrows games on replay
Here's a joke for you from redskins DE Adam Carriker:
"Tony Romo, Michael Vick, and Eli Manning walk into a bar... to watch the playoffs" ;D

-

Good enough to clinch. Besides the Lions, NFC north was tight. Should get up over the Vikings, especially if Ponder doesn't play. His shoulder or something is apparently questionable for this weekend.
-
Texans defence has stepped up. im worried at the moment
-
Geez even though Bengals got the touchdown on interception, we're getting smashed on the line.. on a positive Texan's are being held to field goals because of good zone coverage
-
Yikes. In a game like this, that Texan TD is huge.
-
Yep the Bengals are out. Lost 13-19.
Packers through after winning 24-10 over the Vikings.
-
Colts out. Just lacked that bit of experience and not quite good enough defensively.
Skins have the first TD on the opening drive
-
Pete Carroll is a clown, can't stand him
-
Tight game. Can go any way at that stage.
That Doughty must be a good bloke :whistle

Still only 7 in it though...

Lol 'Irving' wtf? How does an iPhone get that from 'during'?
RG3's luck has run out. But my man-crush on Lynch's ability just grows. Game winning champs stand up in clinch moments. Still reckon the Seahawks have what it take to go at least as far as conference match.
-
I field goal on this drive would ice it

Iced
Yeah I'd be a bit nervous if I was a falcons fan

Whoa, opens the door for New England. would have liked to have seen Manning v Brady on the same field for old times sake.
New England should beat Houston and scrape past Baltimore to get to another Superbowl.
I expect San Francisco to play Seattle in the NFC decider and I would love to see the 49's get up.
-
Seattle are gone, Falcons nearly blew a 20pt lead, FG for the win with 13 seconds to go
The two games yesterday were unreal - Baltimore v Broncos was just blow for blow, big play after big play all the way until Manning of all people threw a turnover
And 49ers v Packers, WOW, Kaepernick exploded into the playoffs with one of the best QB displays of all time, LET'S GO NINERS!!!!
-
Spewin to be back at work. I really like watching Seattle but I guess it doesn't matter since their out now then.
How did Lynch and Wilson go?

If you watch college football you'd possibly be aware of the Manti Teo story – his grandmother died then his girlfriend died of Leukemia, was a huge story and the boy went on to finish runner up in the Heisman Trophy. Well things just turned bizarre...

If Kaepernick can keep this up then Gore and Crabtree will take the 49ers all the way. I've probably mozzed them lol but that's my prediction. SF's offence is hard to stop as they can rack up touchdowns and blow teams away. Very similar to the Montana-Rice teams of the 80s.
-
I LOVE FRANK :bow

Been refreshing scores. Looks like Ravens ran away in the third. SF v Baltimore. Intredasting.
-
Haven't seen much of Flacco and the ravens this year so i don't really know what to expect – will be banking on San Fran's pro bowlers in defence and a flawless 5-0 record in Superbowls :pray ;D

and suffer, Mr Tom Brady :-*

Going for the Ravens :rollin
-
Could say game over already. Baltimore 21 - 6 up at half-time.
-
NFL has Beyonce while the AFL roles out an out of date Meatloaf :wallywink
As for the 49ers, they are doing as well as Meatloaf did :P.
Fumble - Ravens touchdown
Intercept - Ravens touchdown
Longest kick return in NFL history - Ravens touchdown
:P
-
SF back within 5 with a quarter to go although the Ravens have the ball and are in scoring range. If the 49ers can repeat that 3rd quarter they could still pinch this.
-
Back to just 2. 49ers didn't get the 2-point conversion to tie it up.
-
Baltimore wins it 34-31.
49ers had their chance on their last drive when they got to about 10 yards out but they couldn't get the touchdown. Crabtree was held back by the guernsey in the endzone but the refs let it go. Like in any footy when you're playing catch-up you need everything to go your way and to take all your chances which normally doesn't happen.
-
Damn forgot all about it! Work got in the way! :banghead I'm a 49'ers bandwagonner from way back, even still have my new era fitted SF cap I bought about 20 years ago at Fishermans Wharf.
Is Jerry Rice still playing for the 49er's? ;D
-
Baltimore deserved the win but the Niners didn't deserve to lose
Got the rough end of the stick from the refs for most of the game while the ravens got the rub, but it came down to Kaep not being able to get the touchdown from 3 seperate 1st and goal attempts
Forget the fumble and the interception, Niners outplayed them but couldn't convert in the red zone
That's QB inexperience - was screaming for them to throw Alex Smith in for a play just to mix it up at the death, might have got the TD to win it when they were 2nd and goal with 2 mins to go
Kudos to Flacco, he has a killer arm, deserved the MVP
At least that is the end of Ray Lewis
Bloody massive turnout at The Star, great party
OE showing once again he shouldn't comment on NFL :shh
-
Bee-on-say was wonderful half time entertainment. From a geek perspective the active screen behind her was pretty cool also. :thumbsup

Jesse Williams to the Seahawks :clapping
Well done! Will suit their aggressive defence really well.
-
I wonder how his FIGJAM attitude will go down though. But their defence will be almost impenetrable with his addition. Could nearly pencil them in for the Superbowl now. Lots of depth on their Dline, probably why the Lions could tempt over Jason Jones.
Boss gave us the full long weekend so I got to watch the draft. I watched the top 15 or so just to see where the best blokes went. WTF at Detroit with Ansah at 5?! Sure needed to fill that DL spot since Avril (went to Seahawks lol) and stuff left, but surely better options than a feel good story out of Ghana who has only played like 9 games. Was really keen on Milliner since we could go a quality corner despite his injuries.
So many tackles went high :o

Can fit right in with Cam Chancellor. They have a monster defence right now and they may go one further in the NFC this coming season. They were unlucky to lose to SF 49's in the playoffs and after quarter time gave my Redskins a lesson in playoff defense. :thumbsup
-
I wonder how his FIGJAM attitude will go down though
Going 5th round may take some of the gloss off his sense of self worth
But I'll back his new teammates to beat the poo out of him
Tried watching it but it just takes so long between picks I got bored - except when Jets fans started booing their selections lmao

That's why I only watched the first 12 or so lol. How restless did the Buffalo fans I think it was get when they traded down with the Rams :lol

He got released by the Jets. I read a article that he could be going to play in the CFL.

You know how unlucky geeks.
Almost as unlucky as the 49's in the Superbowl.
-
Seahawks impressive today
Some of their antics though ::)
-
Been busy so haven't watched a single game yet. Only some Lions highlights. Reggie Bush really adds something (no more just throwing everything to Megatron :lol) and finally a d-line that's nearly NFL quality. Disappointing to just get pipped by the Cardinals to make it 1-1. NFC will be tough this year. I reckon 49ers and Seahawks will be neck and neck for division, and either will have a good enough record for first wildcard meaning only one left. Can't see the Packers with Rodgers ever not winning North so Lions need a miracle to aim for the last spot. At least by the time the wheels have fallen off the Lions season by about 1-6 the hockey will have started :lol
-
Busy? Get off the video whackers PAC MAN

Bengals 20 defeated Steelers 10 :clapping :clapping
-
OMG we beat the Packers!!!!
Bengals 34 Green Bay 30
-
Packers hardly off to a great start so far. As long as they keep losing and the Steelers romp the Bears I'll be happy :clapping NFC north looking pretty underwhelming this year ;D Ziggy Ansah :clapping
Lol shawks 45 v jags 17.
-
Packers hardly off to a great start so far.
But the Bengals are like Richmond, defeat teams no one expects and loses to those they whould beat ;D
-
My tips have gone to the shizer and it's only week 3
So hard to get a form reading, upsets galore
-
From the NFL:
Miami and Kansas City are undefeated.
Minnesota and Washington are 0-3.
And the Jets have a better record than SF.
Just like everyone predicted.
;D
-
Thought KC would improve under Andy Reid but more along the lines of being competitive rather than wins (granted early days)
It's a good start for KC, will be interesting to see if they can maintain it
-
Alex Smith is bloody quality QB, one concussion and he lost his job at the Niners
KC got a ripper there
-
With the seventh pick of the third round in the 2012 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected punter Bryan Anger. Five picks later, the Seattle Seahawks drafted Russell Wilson.

Sounds like Greg Miller is in Jacksonville. ::)
Broncos absolutely slapping Oakland. Peyton Manning is just too good. :clapping
-
Denver will go one step better this year and win the AFC. No dramatic slip ups this year one would hope. Look fantastic with Manning.
RG3 and my Redskins looking very shaky. :-\
-
RG3 and my Redskins looking very shaky. :-\
Yep, don't go letting too many people know you lost to the Lions even without Reggie Bush ;D AFC north v NFC north would have to be the most underwhelming draws in some time. :lol

No doubt dwaino. We look shaky and the Giants look just terrible. Other than Chicago in the NFC North the rest look underwhelming. Packers though I believe have heaps of improvement and can turn things around.
-
I don't rate Chicago. Might be 3-0 but that includes wins over the Steelers and the Vikings. Early yet. Let's see what happens with Lions v Bears, will shape the division. So far Lions getting by with role players. I just want to see the Packers miss out. As long as Chicago don't clinch division that is ;D
-
I've tipped the Bears ;D
-
I've stabbed pricks for less.

You are a harsh man dwaino. ;D
How do the Saints and Drew Brees sit with you and their violent and overpaid D. ;D

Niners :cheers

Drew Brees throws four touchdowns as New Orleans crush the Dolphins to go 4-0.
Would love to see a Denver v New Orleans superbowl.
Manning vs Brees.
I think Seattle might with their huge D may have a huge say in the NFC just quietly. :shh
-
I love watching Seahawks play. Lynch :bow
-
The Seahawks are fierce man and bloody hard to beat at home
I just hate that **** Sherman
-
The good Bengals turned up today ;D
Cincinnati 13 -d- New England 6
Was the Patriots first loss of the season. First time in 52 games Brady hasn't thrown a TD pass
Kansas City win again now 5-0 after beating Tennesse
Phillie Eagles beat NY Giants 36-21. Giants are now 0-5 :o
Seattle lose for the first time this year going down 28-34 -v- the Colts
For other scores:

Niners schooled the Texans :cheers
Back in business at 3-2
-
Niners would be 5-0 if Smithy were still there :whistle
-
Aldon Smith maybe ::)
-
No, that guy who has lead the Chiefs to a 5-0 start.
-
oh that guy, yessss i like what the Chiefs have done to teams that played playoffs last year :clapping
-
Surprise packet of the season are the Chiefs. :thumbsup
Huge win by the niners ad surprised Seattle let it slip in the last against the Colts.
-
The chiefs had only one way to go this season
Will reserve judgey until they have played a good side, Raiders this week so will have to wait. Benefit of finishing with only 2 wins last year, easy start
Alex was a great pickup though
-
The chiefs had only one way to go this season
Same could be said of the Colts in Manning's last year a couple of seasons back went 2-14.
Some teams just get on an early season roll till and are feel good teams till week 1 of the playoffs.
Atlanta anyone. ;D

Bahaha Packers lose and Lions sweep Bears :birthday :rollin Detroit setting up for first divisional win in something like 20 years :lol
-
Bengals lose in O/T for the 2nd week in a row
This time to the Ravens
Bad Bengals the last 2 weeks :banghead
-
Tom Brady is such a mincer
-
The Panthers.* :clapping
Actually still trying to choose a team. Do like Cam Newton though. :shh
-
Newton is a freak
As shaggy said, oh Carolina!
-
Stayed home today so got to catch the game. Is Darius Johnson from the Falcons the worst receiver in the comp? Fingers like butter.
-
they don't call him lube d. johnson for nothing
-
I've been following the matchday thread for the Redskins a few times.
Sav Rocca is their Luke McGuane, whipping boy :lol
-
:lol that's awesome.
No wins in NFC North this round so Lions still on top :lol :lol :rollin :rollin :lol :lol :rollin :ROTFL

I love it when the fudge Packers get reamed. Even better when the Lions do it. ;D :lol nfc north almost in the bag :cheers
-
Packers 56yd pass, inside 10.... inb4 fumble. Lions ball hahaha
-
agree dwaino
i'm just peed that i only had detroit by 6, blown me margin right out mofos!
-
If Detroit win the division they'll probably play a wild card with a better record :lol will take it though :cheers stuffing Megatron :bow

Panthers/Saints shaping to be a big game. Both 9-3 equal 1st in the division. Panthers lead 6-0 :clapping

Nah you'll get Mr Magoo for a ref like we did and can't tell where the boundary is for out calls or what an illegal hold looks like. :banghead next 3 are indoor so division is still in reach.
Some of the photos from the game are nuts. Players were in it above their ankles. Detroit should have got some Red Wings to fill in.

Disappointing 13-31 loss. Brees bent us over. :banghead
-
49's huge win over Seattle even though Seahawks played on Monday last week against New Orleans.
Seattle will turn the tables on the 49's on home field in the playoffs.
-
Yep Seahawks so hard to beat at home, it's so loud opposing offenses constantly get penalised for delay of game and bleed their time outs, Niners will need to use a lot of no huddle plays.
-
Back in the winners circle. Saints lose so equal first in the division again with a home game against NO next week for outright 1st place. Not confident after Brees gave us a turkey slapping last week. :lol
-
The BAD Bengals turned up today and got beaten by the Steelers 30-20
Huge chance to secure a play off spot and they blew it
:banghead :banghead

I love watching the Seahawks play. Everything they do is a clinic, their crowd rules and Lynch is a boss :bow

Good to see the Lions throwing the season.

Question to mods - is this the correct location for LFL posting ? :cuddles

Cam Newton. :wub :cuddles :shh :shh

Bengals win their division and secure a playoff spot
First time in the teams history that they made the playoffs 3 years in row
Special thanks to the ravens who lost today, secured the divisions for the bengals ;D
-
Anyone think the Rams can beat the Seahawks?
-
Wouldn't tip them but anything could happen. Will be a few upsets this playoffs I reckon. Still think on current form the Seahawks have the trophy in the bag but imo the top is a lot closer than what some people think. That and massive Lynch mancrush :lol I love the running game. Would love to have Chris Johnson at the Lions if he really wants out of the Titans.

Actually I don't think we can get first seed anyway. So doesn't matter. Need to take care of business and get 2nd.

No but didnt think the Cardinals could either
I hope they do so the Niners can steam home and clinch the div :clapping ;D

Ravens are done and dusted after getting thumped by the "good" Bengals 34-17
Bengals get a home final; hopefully means they might actually win their first pay off game since 1990 :o
-
Sportscenter blowing their load over a late Packers go ahead TD to win North. Can't stand the fanning the Crappers get. If the Lions didn't chuck their season by trying to fake a FG against the Steelers then Aaron todger and his merry band of green fudge packers would have been irrelevent. ::)

I had it on in the background, not sure it was the "good" Bengals or the "Incompetent, useless, poohouse" Ravens. :lol
-
Also, Cam Newton :wub
Got poo done when needed. 2nd seed and a week off, which will hopefully see Steve Smith come back for playoffs.
-
Gee whiz. AFC west making up seeds 1, 5 and 6.

Was stuffing horrendous. Nothing will beat our game when we are 10-0 down, DeAngelo Williams nearly goes all the way, fumbles and Atlanta recover. Then on the first play Matt Ryan throws an intercept pass for a TD. ;D

Was a good game vs Dallas yesterday (well the second half was) but lucky Romo wasn't playing.
-
Denver with home-field advantage at Mile High will have a dream run to the Super Bowl.
The 49ers are stiff finishing 12-4 and yet getting lobbed with an away wildcard playoff at freezing Green Bay.
-
Yep, Niners won 4 more games than Green Bay yet have to play away to them :huh The seeding system needs some work.
Imagine being a Cardinals fan, 10 wins and you are sitting on the sidelines in January while the Chargers (9), and Fudge Packers [8], play on.
Go America!
I blame Tony Romo ;D
-
Tony Homo and Aaron Todger.
-
Anyone here a Cowboys fan? Yesterday was classic. ;D
-
Lions have fired Jim Schwartz
Sucked in Steelers fans, KC's missed field goal attempt would have sent them to the play-offs, San Diego lined up with more than six players on one side of the centre, should have been a penalty and another kick if the officials could count ;D
-
Lions have fired Jim Schwartz
Had to go. From playoffs to winning only 4 to then missing the playoffs after being 6-2. Detroit have been a joke team for yonks but on paper have the best line up in NFC north IMO. No excuse. Stafford, Houston, Bush, Johnson, Suh, Ansah etc. Schwartz was a dead set dud. Trying to fake a field goal against the Steelers to seal the game was the nail in his coffin. Didn't even try to win a couple weeks ago, ran out the clock, one TD behind with 2 TOs to spare. Really solid d-line, just get a first round WR in there to make the long passing game to Megatron less predictable and that team could go a long way. /fanrant
Just read that they've cleaned out most of their line coaches too. Start fresh :cheers
Anyone here a Cowboys fan? Yesterday was classic. ;D
Missing that field goal? Or throwing the extra point to the covered bloke while Witten was standing clear in the end zone? Or the intercept on the final drive? :lol 8-8 again, but reckon Tony Homo would have got them across the line this time. Oh well ;D
Anyone up on the hockey at the moment? Team USA goalies leaked, one of them Jimmy Howard. After the Swedes and Ruskis bugger off to Sochi and now Howard, don't think the Wings will be able to field a team for a month :lol
-

Take your pick. Was all comedy gold. I just liked the bit when they were down 8 (24-16) you knew they'd score a touchdown and then stuff it up. :lol
-
Great comeback so far from the Colts. That last drive was what, 4 out of 5 first downs? Luck getting a TD from his own fumble too. Chiefs are choking, just like their season :shh
-
Annnnd that's the lead :lol

Gone.. Dalton having a poor game
-
yep the BAD Bengals on display today
After not losing at home all season they folded like a deck of cards
Dalton sadly choked again on a big stage
In a word - PATHETIC

Can't wait for Kap v Cam next week, love the way Big Newton goes about it

hahahaaaaa ! That's funny as !
Second half was a tad blurry the next day. I recall thinking ' how the hell did we lose that ? ' and then thinking ' I don't want to know.... or see it again ever '
Better get back to the NFL before we get snipped or I slip into a Carlton hate rant again. God I hate Carlton !!
Who do the niners play next and is it a home game for them ? Not how it all works from here ?

Had a feeling this would happen when I read the Ford plane set to go pick him up was delayed :banghead bit annoyed. Detroit seemed as good a fit for him as he did for the Lions. Out of our other options I hope they go Caldwell. Detroit have long been a joke but I reckon their offense is pretty potent with Stafford, Johnson and Bush but they were poorly coordinated this year. The defense with Suh and Ansah kept Detroit in it up to their ears all season and still have Jason Jones to come back. So another offensive orientated coach such as Caldwell, like Whiz should add the fire power.
Don't see the point in Munchak and if they go for Kubiak then I give up as they as well have got this guy

Might be a bit quiet around here this season without the great Gerkin, but the season is about to kick off.
So hard to make an early call outside the obvious ones, so many changes at so many teams. NFC west will probably be a poo fight again with the 49ers and Seahawks.
Really bullish about the Lions this season. New coach and staff so hopefully there are no teething issues but will be good to be rid of the long passing game as we got found out late in the season with no plan B. Stafford with Bush, Tate, Megatron, Bell and now Ebron has to be the most devastating offense in NFC north. Bell has really come on as a RB which frees up Bush to play receiver more and increase the longevity of his crook knees. On the D really need Jones back on the line because between him, Suh and Ansah the Lions will be eating QBs for breakfast. Hopefully Slay and Levy continue their improvment from last year and build in our weak secondary.
-
Surely the AFL lists would have a huge advantage? Sydney to win it I'd say.
-
Niners will find the going really tough early without their best three defenders
-
As is the norm for me I have real expectations for Bengals.
When the good Bengals show up they're brilliant, when they off they are shocking.
And I'm still not sold on Andy Dalton. So terribly inconsistent

Now that we have Bell releasing Bush to play receiver and Tate taking the heat off Megatron you just can't double team him like in the past. Giants found out quickly by giving CJ a paddock and he made them pay 8)

Lions tight end Joseph Fauria missed Sunday's game against the Jets with an ankle injury. Pretty standard stuff until you hear he injured his ankle while trying to stop his dog from peeing in the house.

Yeah I saw that this morning on my news feed. They had a photo and it was just a puppy husky or something ;D. Now that's Fauria and Tulloch out for stupid things :lol
Reckon he'll rest up another week before back for the Vikings game to put our foot down on division. Reckon the Packers are stuffed so our only threat really is the Bears. NFC north is fairly average so really doubt a wild card will come from it, divisional winner will probably only walk away with 11 or 12 wins.

stuff I forgot it was on. Fell asleep watching Arsenal. Does anyone like the ESPN coverage where it flicks from one game to the next? I wanna pee on my Foxtel box.

Only time I watch EPL is the occasional match on at a decent Saturday night time slot and I don't think it bounces around to different matches? I miss way back when ESPN on Optus Vision showed Bundesliga. Can't be stuffed paying that other mob (setanta sports or something?) $19 a month to show it on my foxtel box.
As for NFL, I can only catch one or two quarters when I'm getting ready for work. I generally then try to keep up with videos and stuff from a variety of free apps and websites. Only recently upgraded to windows 8.1 and jumped on their app store and grabbed the NFL app which has quite a lot for a free app. I get to keep up with everything Lions in glorious HD :thumbsup

The NFL do it. I was wondering why it never says in the guide what game is at 3am so I recorded it and it just flicks from one play to the next depending on which games are a chance to score. It's poo.

Reckon 2 seasons ago Lions would have been all over him, Lions loved blokes with issues until recently :cheers
Not sure what the problem is at Detroit. We're not poor. We're owned by the Ford family. But maybe that's it. Maybe the Lions franchise needs someone to take it over that loves the team, and not just something that the rich Ford kids inherit. Saying that, things look on the up with the new staff and players with good attitudes like Bush and Tate actually want to come and play in Detroit ;D
Until we do something though the jokes will just keep rolling

Not liking these come from behind wins which are becoming a habit, but good to get the W in London ;D now fingers crossed NO roll the packers so Lions hit the bye a game in front.

Go Saints. 13 a piece before HT ;D

Bengals won :o beat the Ravens 27-24 in the last minute or so
QB Dalton scored the winning TD
-
Looks like everyone's game was decided in the final minute with me being on the bad side of the ledger.
-
Nothing like winning two weeks in a row off a turn over right in the dying minutes :D
Packers lost too so that's like winning x2. They come back after bye I think and olay Chicago. Since Detroit are ahead of both in division W/L that should put one of them pretty far back in division standings.
-
Fudge packing gimps.
Still winning the special Olympics anyway. :clapping

Wonder if playing Oakland had anything to do with it? They're absolute pox. Just like the Demons. Seattle is usually renowned for having a really loud home crowd to the point where the visitors can't even hear the QB call a play on the ground and they have to signal time outs.
But yeah, crap team and don't know how they market so much merch. Quite possibly the kids here don't have a clue who they are and the black and silver with the dude with the eyepatch is just fashionable. The bro in law tried telling me once he went for the Raiders until I called him out on how crap they were and he probably saw their stuff in Footlocker or Rebel Sport. Now he doesn't reckon he follows it at all :lol

My youngest son was in Seattle yesterday watching the Seahawks beat the Raiders. His first game of NFL, reckons it was ok to watch but not in the same class as AFL. Lot of empty seats going by his FB photos.
Lol. I know nothing about NFL and follow the Bengals in name only because WP said they are the Tigers (obviously) ;D but I must correct my earlier inaccuracy because the photo he posted was before the game. Apparently by kick off it was packed and he said that the Seahawks at that stadium hold a Guinness Book of Records thing for loudest crowd noise a year or so back. Reckon the wankers need to come to the G at our next final!! ;D
-
Lmao Bengals. Gone to Brown town. Plop. Dalton getting absolutely slammed on Mike and Mike.
-
:shh
Lmao Bengals. Gone to Brown town. Plop. Dalton getting absolutely slammed on Mike and Mike.
All deserved
They were pathetic. Dalton the is ultimate choker in big situations, does it far too often for it not to be an accurate description of him
Now that's the "barrassing Bengals" I know
-
Apparently Dalton had the worst pass completion record for a Cincinnati QB ever or since '94 or something. Granted the Browns are probably improving for the first time since forever, still embarrassing to get flogged by them by that much. Would be like going down to Melbourne by 60.
Not that I can talk yet, not expecting the Lions to go well against Miami. They belted the Chargers who are a passing team like us so unless we get our running game on I don't like pur chances. Megatron is back in the team I think and it's at home so that might be in our favour :help
-
Lmao 3rd straight win after being behind in the final drive
(http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj489/dwwaino/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_61640548399291_zps4ef8a3b3.jpeg)

Dem Panthers.
-
Dem Panthers.
:lol still only half a game off winning the division with the easiest run home in the league. Would be nice if Cam hadn't turned into a cripple. Won't win another game. :banghead
-
Need some form, 4 straight losses and 3 home losses for the season is pox. Going through divisional standings you're like us, need to improve offense if serious about winning division. Check out the top team in nearly every division, 30+ TDs. We're both 10 behind. Green Bay have got their game going so we just have to keep winning, dropping any stupid game and they'll get us. Luckily we've still got some big offensive outs still to come back like Reggie Bush. We've got the best defense in the league at the moment, conceding less than anyone else and I think most or close to most scores from turnovers, so as long as that holds up and our offense can score more and stop relying on Stafford to throw a game winning TD pass in the last 30 seconds of the 4th then we should be good ;D
I don't know why our Off is struggling to put up big scores though. We've had all of Megatron, Bush and Pettigrew out for a few weeks but they're slowly coming back. At full strength our receivers are Johnson, Tate, Bush, Bell, Ebron and Pettigrew who are all guns. Might just getting used to the new style since getting a new coach. He was offensive coordinator at the Ravens when they won it two seasons back and was Peyton Manning's QB coach at the Colts when he was there so all the more reason our Offense should be firing. He's managed to squeeze more out of late pick receivers like Riddick (game winning TD last game) and still win games without our stars.
We've got some really tough games coming up. We still have to play Cardinals, Patriots and Bills, with the only real reprieve coming from Buccs, Bears and Vikings. Looking around the conference I think we're a good chance to at least go wild card. Currently 7 wins, so as long as we win some and only lose a couple then it should only come down to us, Cowboys/Eagles and Cardinals/Seahawks. Looks like both NFC wild cards this season will have more wins than NFC South winner :lol :shh
-
:lol our offense is total arse. Not only do they not score but they concede points too or turn it over in scoring positions and put the defense under immense pressure. Newton looks totally broken at the moment. Poor bastard could barely stand up on Tuesday. Our bye week is after the Falcons game so that should come in handy.
Holy poo you've conceded half the points we have. :lol :lol
-
Eagles are flying. That offence is potent. Dee is a bit shaky
-
Hopeless again :lol
-
Yeah saw that. Gone this season I reckon ;D
We're struggling against Cardinals in the desert. Unless we take the lead again in the final minute I hope Philly do us a solid and knock off GB.
-
Stuff me. Packers putting up some massive scores this season :help
-
Just read that head of officiating claimed two wrong calls in the lions v cardinals game. I wonder which of the 9 flags to zip for the first half that was? One was surely the yard that they took off Ebron that made the difference between a first and a forth down.
Not too happy on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/2mhtqi/game_thread_detroit_lions_72_at_arizona_cardinals/

Bengals won defeating New Orleans :sleep
The result that surprised me and was a great result was the St Louis Rams defeating Denver Broncos. Big win for the Rams, showing some signs of steady improvement
-
:lol @ Saints :sleep
A lot of good teams at the top of NFC this season and unfortunately someone from NFC south is going to take one their spots :banghead
-
Bengals did us a favour and we balls'd it up. What do we have to do for the no.1 draft pick? :help
-
Played against this bloke a lot in juniors (not directly, our teams as he was a mid and I was a forward) since we are the same age and were in the same region/division. As the only one to make it from our year I followed his career a bit. One memory is of a semi final where I opened up early with a couple goals after playing a little closer to goal than usual. Despite the height difference the opposition coach moved Harding on to me since he was always a state rep player and as far as I ever made rep footy was district captain. A runner came out and told me to switch with the full forward taking Scott with me to the square and I got two goals off the next two deliveries.... and thus my only 1 on 1 with him ended ;D I'm sure he has long moved on from that and would well and truly have my measure now lol
http://www.triplem.com.au/melbourne/sport/afl/news/2014/11/former-afl-player-scott-harding-making-huge-massive-waves-in-us-college-football/
-
Man we got pumped :help was anticipating losing with our offensive outs but that was woeful. Really should have won last week since we won't win division now with the form of the Packers. Need to battle it out for wild card.
-
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24834895/lions-center-takes-cheap-shot-at-patriots-on-final-play-of-34-9-blowout
Disgraceful.
Should get suspended.
-
Dick move but he didn't actually break any rules as it was against another linesman who wasn't already engaged and it wasn't from behind. He's pretty hot headed and most Lions fans wanted Raiola gone last season but with any luck this will be the last season we have to put up with that dud. Not the first time he's done something like that. Rumor has it he won't be re-signed. Maybe after we lose Suh to FA we will free up cash for two new tackles and a center.
-
Back on the winners list after pantsing the Bears. Another division win, even if we draw W/L with GB we should go ahead since we are ahead on div wins. Amazing the difference Megatron makes when back in the team. The bloke is a freak.
-
Watching an N'Stompakong doco on ESPN. What a brilliant bloke. :clapping
-
Surely the Raiders are just taking the pee at 0-52 to the stuffing Rams :help
-
Did the Raiders turn up or did the Rams play by themselves? :lol
-
Oakland were probably playing with themselves. I don't know how they sell their brand. Even Melbourne would beat them at their own game. Walk into any Rebel Sport of Footlocker and what do you see? GB, Pats, Giants, all fair enough. Then you find Raiders gear sitting amongst it all. Has me stuffed. Some noddies probably just get it to look cool but at least pick a team that can win more than a game a season.
-
#dendefended :clapping
Check out AFC North. Steelers over Bengals made things interesting with Cleveland only a game behind. That draw that Cincinnati have could be the difference between playoffs or not.
Wild card spots in the NFC will be hot this year and both will likely have more wins than South winner lol :lol
-
Back in the race with a huge win over the Saints. Need fudge packers to win tomorrow and then we are every chance to lead the division after next week. :lol
-
Back in the race... a total of 4 wins lmao ;D NFC wild cards will go in on around 12 or 13 wins while NFC South winner will have around 8 or 9 :lol
Raiders over SF. Wish gerks were still here :rollin :lol
-
Lol at 9 wins. Talk about ambitious. We can do it with 6.5 :lol
Need to beat Atlanta in the last game and hope both them and the Saints lose next week to the Steelers and Bears respectively. :lol Need Atlanta to beat the Saints too.
-
Some fans are starting to go off that a team like the Lions may miss out who will finish 12-4 or 11-5 when the NFC South winner will only be like 6-10 or 7-9 lmao. Have to admit that is stuffed :lol
If us and the packs keep winning we will have a massive final game show down as we play each other at Lambeau. Winner takes all. They are a game ahead but we've already beaten them once and are ahead on divisional wins.
-
Bengals choke again did they?
Been in a conference all day.
No surprise, they're so predictable
-
Yep against the Steelers too who have you on divisional and conference wins. Only that draw keeping the Bengals ahead right now. Ravens and Browns also hot on your heels. As long as you don't drop many more then Bengals should at least make wild card as AFC isn't the same log jam that the NFC is right now.
-
Cam broke his back in a car accident. Season over us now >:(
-
Where were the O Line? ::)
-
Where were the O Line? ::)
On holiday like the first 12 games. They fronted up against the Saints and you want them to back it up 2 days later? :lol
-
Leading the division :lol
-
Inb4 a 10-6 team misses out :banghead Saints still yet to play though.
One more win and we're in anyway. Last game will be game of the round, GB v Lions for NFC North title (provided we win next week) ;D at Lambeau though :(
Bills beat GB so we're back on top ;D
-
Just realised top wild card to play south winner. Wouldn't mind rolling Saints or Panthers week 1 ;D
-
Just realised top wild card to play south winner. Wouldn't mind rolling Saints or Panthers week 1 ;D
We already beat you :lol
-
We lost 2 or 3 games around that point with half the O line out. Won't happen again ;D
-
We lost 2 or 3 games around that point with half the O line out. Won't happen again ;D
Probably. We are arse and New Orleans are even crapier :lol
-
We have Bears and Fudgers have Buccs next week so we should be both 11-4 going into week 17. Winner will most likely get a week off and loser will probably play South winner. Who would you rather play? GB or Detroit? ;D will be in Carolina too. That's another thing with GB v Lions in week 17. Winner will get first game at home and possibly conference too depending how it pans out. Loser will never get a home playoff. Big stakes. But will be just happy to make it ;D ;D
-
Don't think it matters who we play. Especially seems Newton reckons he nearly died the other day so doubt he's back anytime soon. :pray
I'd love to take out the Packers for the lulz though. Are we no chance to face Seahawks? They will molest us silly.
-
If the playoffs were to start right now you would play Seahawks, I think the playoff positions will change up over the next two weeks though. Just read up some scenarios, if we win next week and GB lose we will win division regardless of what happens last game against them due to tie breaker rules ;D philly look to be the unlucky team to miss on 10 or 11 wins.
-
My heart bleeds for Philly. Especially when you look at their bball team being miles from playoffs. :lol
-
stuffing Bears :banghead
Need Falcons to win next week and the win both our games.
-
:lol Bears are crap. They're in a bit of trouble at the moment since their offensive coordinator publicly called out Cutler for being a spud and everyone cracked the poos. If we don't pump them next week then we don't deserve division.
-

We'll have Glover Quinn waiting to rack up some intercept stats ;D
-
Hopefully Manziel plays against us this week. Falcons over Saints. Then it's out of us and Falcons in last game. If Saints beat Falcons then they will win the division with Tampa in the last game a certainty :lol
-
Browns started off not too shabby until they started falling away. Reckon they have the worst colours in sport? :lol
Speaking of Tampa, an ideal outcome is they win this week :rollin :pray

:help no idea what position he would play. You would think his skillset suits a RB but we already have Bell and Bush. Unless it's long term as backup to Bell after Bush retires. We're well sorted with TEs with Ebron keeping Pettigrew off the park as it is and our secondary is strong (best defense in league). Best of luck to him anyway. Well done to an Aussie who isn't a punter :cheers
-
It will take him 5 years to be ready so maybe some long term planning? :lol
But good luck to him anyway. Big risk doing what he's doing. Hope he succeeds.

Philly lost to Redskins so that's play-offs clinched for us ;D coach Caldwell's first season. Knight the man.

Yeesssss :cheers
-
Don't know why we had to make it look hard but just got over the Bears. Think Raiola is in the poo again.
-
We haven't won at Lambeau in about 20 years so not getting my hopes up but how big is det v go next week. Winner takes division, second nfc seed and a week off and a home run into conference . Loser falls as low as 6th seed and goes on the road. I don't think we've won a play off on the road in as long. Our offense is stuffed for some reason. our defence is awesome and keeping us in games but that won't be enough against GB or any play off team (excluding South ;D). offense really needs to reward the D for their effort. With Stafford, Bell, CJ etc there is no reason we shouldn't be putting up big scores against crap sides.
-
Bengals down for Monday night Football (Tuesday morning in Aust) this week against Denver
I expect the Bengals to get a thumped ;D
-
If you lose then next week vs Steelers becomes really interesting. Have to say this is a pretty tight run into play-offs this season.

Yep agree makes a pleasant change
So used to a lot of the spots being decided a long way out
Not this year

:lol congrats dwaino
Division leaders with a game to go. :shh
That 2 point loss to the Falcons at home could bite us in the arse. We'd have the division sealed. :banghead
-
Just saw we could very well end up with the 7th best record in the NFC. Not that outrageous to make playoffs like that. Thought we'd be like 9th-10th :lol
Get stuffed Philly ;D

I think what everyone is crapping on about is if the playoffs were to fall right now then you'd be playing the Packs at home when they're 11-4. Since division leaders get a free ride in there is always a team who makes who are a game or two behind someone else who misses out on a wildcard but right now you're 4 wins (well 3.5 wins ;D) behind your opponent and get the home ground advantage. Won't even be a 0.500 team :lol but thems the rules and everyone has to suck it up.

Love how much the seppos go off on their FB sports pages. Some gems today on the Lions FB page ;D

Yeah they should probably get rid of the home field advantage. Though it's the same in nba. Probably won't make a difference anyway as we will likely get smashed :lol
-
Speaking of home field, packs shouldn't be allowed home games late December to January. Wisconsin is pretty frigid this time of year and next week I expect we'll be playing in - 5 and a foot of snow. Big change from indoors at Ford Field :-[

Be honest. If we get a home game and knock out the Packs you will be loving it just as much as me. :lol
-
I go for anyone playing the pack so yes ;D
Our game got flexed to Sunday night, Wisconsin time. The forecast for that day is 8F - 22F, keeping in mind that 32F is 0C :help reckon we're gonna get pantsed then get wrecked by Dallas

Will have to watch the replay this evening

Dwaino -
You have complained about an NFC South team hosting a playoff game on about 20 occasions like it's some new event.
Get a grip. Just because Detroit make the playoffs, it doesn't change the way things are.
Since 2002 when the structure was changed to 8 divisions plenty of teams have won divis with 9-7 records.
Chargers won with 8-8
Seattle won with 7-9
Denver won with 8-8
Your own divi was won with an 8-7-1 record all of a year ago by the Cheeseheads
Winning divisions with crappy records is common.
One other thing (and I can't stand them), mock the Raiders at your own peril. They have been VERY solid under Sparano late and have a potential superstar young QB and possibly the best young defender in football. Apart from the 52-0 flogging they have played with a lot of heart down the stretch and he has changed the locker room dramatically apparently.
Your own mob has a very Richmond like history the last 20 years and hasn't won their division since 1993. At least the Raiders won the division in 2000, 2001, 2002. Including making the Super Bowl in 2002. Would think those three years alone would give them the right to have merchandise somewhere near the front in the modern era. However, in saying all of that they are ranked 28th by Forbes in NFL team value. So they can't be selling much, lol.
Anyhow, enjoy one more week of Odell Beckham for this year. You are about to watch the journey of the best receiver to ever lace them up unfold over the next decade.

Least now you have some facts.
I enjoyed the story immensely
-
Ok, I finally read your diatribe and don't know what point you're trying to make? Just about everything you brought up has been covered at some point over the past few pages but of course through the rose tinted glasses of our own teams. Even the point about teams making it with average records. My point is the one that is raised whenever a less than 0.500 team makes it. Yeah you're damn right I'm happy about the Lions making it, because besides the Pistons in the early 2000s the only thing I've had to cheer about out of Detroit is the Wings, and since Gerks isn't around any more to keep this thread rolling I'll do my best to keep it going even if it is about my own team. I'm one eyed, deal with it.
Look they're just words on the screen and can be misconstrued pretty easily but it seemed like you unnecessarily having a go. Me and tigs (since we're really the only two that are posting in here so I'll throw him under the bus lol) aren't experts or claiming to be but to suggest we aren't dealing in facts is just plain wrong (however negative sentiment against other teams is subjective and never wrong) . Feel free to regularly jump in and join the discussion instead of just coming in late and firing from the hip, and so we're not just toing and froing about how Carolina are going to Bradbury a play off berth and who Suh is going to stomp next next. The more teams we get in here the better and the more balanced it gets.
-
Cheers for throwing me under the bus. :lol
We are nearly there ;D
-
Newton has been in ripping form since coming back after that accident :cheers another rush TD proves his back is all good.
Our season ends next week. I think we'll play Dallas? We'll get blown away. Can't believe this ref could turn over the 2 point play with insufficient footage. Whatever happened to benefit of the doubt? Unlikely we would have won another onside kick but sill. That safety call was unfair too, but that's just another day at Lambeau. After we lose Suh to FA hopefully we use the free cash to buy a new centre and some protectionfor Stafford. Had no help from the line today and was always under pressure.
-
Just looked at the Nov picture. Hard to split Seachooks, GB, Cards and Dallas. Seattle's home ground should be enough so maybe Dallas v Seattle and on to Vs Denver or Pats?
-

Panthers got it in the bag. :lol
Panthers v Lions for the NFC. Let's do this :shh
-
We are raging favourites with the bookies. Wtf?
-
I know I was trashing the South :shh ;D but you do have to like your chances at home. I think the Cards are a good side, especially at home and imo going under the radar a bit in terms of play off odds. Might hinge on whether or not Stanton plays.
Good to see Suh won his appeal. If he wanted to stomp on Rodgers he would have. He was definitely being a smart arse with every intention to walk over him but if it were anyone other than golden boy Rodgers then nothing would have even come of it. There was more malice in what Raiola did. Rodgers is such a good QB and is amazing to watch him thread those passes but stuff me he has one of those smug expressions you just want to thump.
-
Arizona going to set a record for least yards gained in a playoff game. :lol
-
Congrats :cheers that's one way to vindicate a playoff spot ;D
-
Stuff me Roethlisberger is a unit. Same height and weight but he looks fitter :lol
-
Dont like 'em but have to respect them, great win by the Ravens. Considering their injury list, it was a top win
-
Congrats :cheers that's one way to vindicate a playoff spot ;D
Cheers. Apart from the intercept pass and the massive balls up by Bursin we were pretty good. Can't make those mistakes against the Seahawks or Packers next week. Panthers v Lions NFC championship battle dream rolls on. :clapping
-
Only if we get a head start :lol tipping DeMarco Murray to pull out pants down despite the rating of our run defense. Reckon our def will give us a chance but as usual Stafford and his protection will fall down and we'll lose because we don't get enough points on the board. Another loss by 1TD give or take a FG coming up :cheers
-
Bad luck (no pun) WP, I'm sure the Bengals will be there again next season though. Fourth year straight but gotta be in it to win it.
-
I can't watch lol. Waiting for a massive Richmond like let down :pray
99yd drive :cheers
-
Good start Lions. The dream is still alive. Keep going :lol
-
Outplayed then but our defense has been pretty solid so far only allowing a few first downs :pray
-
Annnnnd there's the let down. So Richmond. These flags are rubbish though. Everyone is holding each other yet they always manage to throw one us. I think the cowgirls have nearly gained more yards on flags than Tony Homo.
4 points. Called it. Our offense couldn't score for an entire half.
-
The pickup of this flag for interference sums up the performance of the black and white. Still bummed at our offence though, 20 points not good enough in the playoffs. Dominated the first half. About as gutted as the EF against Carlton.

Can't help but feel it is another wasted season.
Marvin Lewis has done well but six finals losses isn't a great record. He needs to held accountable
-
I'm disappointed dwaino. Thought you guys were a big chance. Looks like I'll have to lead the OER charge from here. :shh
-
I thought we were no chance at the start but we got ourselves in it. Seeing stuff like this since fills the hole a little. We should have put them away earlier but that flag pick up and Princess Bryant allowed to storm the field to protest, but we were up against more than the Cowboys. Even if the call was right (their defence was one ref didn't believe there was enough contact and Pettigrew was face guarding... Which is a rule in college but not Nfl so that's another story) then we should have got 15yd and a 1st down for Bryant running onto the field, without a helmet, to protest. All the while the play clock was never stopped so by the time the flag was lifted were forced to go 4th and 1. Would have put us in FG range had we not made the TD and the entire game changes. We got pinged 2 or 3 times for holding on their resulting drive to rub salt into the wound.

Digging deeper, Jerry Bergman who insisted to overturn the call was directly involved in the Steelers vs Dolphins fumble gate, Jim Schwartz costly unsportmanlike red flag against the Texans that earned them a TD they wouldn't have got on review (granted it was his fault but Bergman wasn't overly interested in soft unsportsman penalties when Bryant took to field to protest this time), and after a complaint from the Bills in the 70s his old man never ref'd another Bills game. Sounds like a great bloke http://www.aol.com/article/2015/01/05/i-prefer-not-to-think-before-speaking-nfl-official-blamed-for-blown-call-playoss-cowboys-lions/21125075/

Starting well defensively.

Hanging tough here. Ridiculous pass by Wilson for their 2nd touchdown.

Karma is a beetch, Dallas :cheers
Remember, "one play doesn't make a game" :rollin

New England will be happy. The Colts have upset the Broncos.
-
At work so can't watch the videos, but Fox has left the Broncos and Denver in full rebuild. Apparently entire coaching staff is being cleaned out and Peyton gone.

Never ceases to amaze how quickly American teams can just blow it up and start again. :lol
-
They bought Manning trying to win one. Now they have nothing to show for the money. I'm sure they'll be back though. Denver seem to regularly bounce back.
Fox will get another gig for sure.
-
Seattle beat Green Bay 28-22 in OT while New England is thumping Indy 38-7. So the two best teams will play off in the Superbowl.
-
Credit to the sea chickens on their big come from behind win.

The season is still going? 8)

;D it feels like that once your team is knocked out doesn't it :lol

Cracking game but I was hoping the cheese heads would get up. I have hate the Hi-Vis Seadawks

No. I'm sick of the fudge packer fans that are reminiscent of essendon fans who always carry on after they always beat us up at Lambeau every year >:(

Seahawks remind me of us with their crazy loud crowd. The difference being they actually win :lol

Thank heavens for small mercies...

Anyone listen to Robert Kraft's statement regarding 'deflationgate'? Sounded awefully reminiscent of Little defending Essendon.
-
Marshawn Lynch is a tool! Todays press conference was "You know why I'm here" following on from "I'm here so I won't get fined"
Nobody is bigger than the game. Hope New England tears him a new one! Go the Patriots!!

He was saying that because he got fined last year for not showing up to mandatory press conferences. The bloke is a beast (no pun intended), probably my favourite to watch. Stuff the Pats, always trying to find some grey area to exploit. That would be like going for the bombers. Only thing I can appreciate in them winning is Brady becoming one of the greatest to ever play.
-
geez dwaino, you said following green bay was like following the bombers and now the patriots? Lucky I'm a 49'ers fan or are they like the bombers too?? ;D I guess following a team that has never played in a superbowl has made you all bitter and twisted. ;D
-
;D it is such a great general sweeping statement isn't it :lol to clarify, Pats are like essendon, and pack fans are like essendon supporters. Could just be an nfc North thing though as we play them twice a season and they carry on like brats and just expect to win everything (because they usually do).
No qualms with the 49ers ;D big fan of Kaepernick. My first team is red wings so it's not all bitter depravity :rollin
-
Anyone see the Lion at the Half time show? So they let them into the Superbowl* :shh
*sorry dwaino ;D

good game so far.

Edelman is friggin awesome! Tom Brady started off playing like Bobby Brady but now seems to be getting his groove on at the money end of the game.
Go Patriots!!

Cracking finish coming up here.

Pats have come back from 10 points down at 3/4 time to lead 28-24 with 2 mins to go.

Bahahahaha what a catch :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Farcical decision.
Circumstantial and zero proof, hence 4 games.
If they had proof it would be a full season suspension.
How someone can get suspended because they think he might have been involved is beyond me.
They will win the AFC East regardless.
-
I agree, seems like the NFL just wanted to be seen doing something. Though for a sport with so many officials and bureaucrats it sounds ridiculous to leave something like match balls in the hands of the home team

Panthers off to a decent start so I'm happy. :clapping

Yep good start to the Bengals as well
But lid is firmly on
-
:lol good old Bengals like their AFL brothers.
We tend to be slow starters and quick finishers and then choke in the playoffs so not sure what to make of this quick start. I think we have the Saints this week who just lost to Tampa.

Bengals last year lol bang out first playoff just like us :rollin
well not so funny but :help

3-0 :bow

:lol wtf is happening in Detroit other than sweet stuff all?
Panthers 4-0 as well. Who will fail first, Panthers or Bengals? :o
-
Detroit is hockey town and that is all. Even the Pistons have been garbage and we lost Monroe at the end of last season so no way we will ever do anything as long as the Bulls and Cavs are strong. As for the Lions, time to pee Lombardi off. Our offense has been rotten with him there, probably only got the job because of his name. I though Caldwell did great things in his first season last season but he has stunk this year. Stafford will be stretchered off the ground before too long with the lack of protection the OL are giving him. I don't care that Suh is missing from the defense. If the offense wasn't so crap and consistently going 3 and out then the defense wouldn't be on the field so long. We have Johnson, a genuine generational player and not only did we waste his prime we are still wasting him now. We don't throw to him, instead we keep trying to run it when all we gain is inches. Absolute joke of a franchise right now. They were all drinking the koolaid after last season.
-
I always hear Koolaid being mentioned ...what is it?
-
It's powdered cordial. Sort of seen as a poor drink that is consumed mainly in the ghettos but it's often used at someone in a sort of derogatory manner. If someone says something stupid like "let's trade our first pick for Yarran" then you could say "get off the koolaid."
-
Cheers for the prompt reply Dwaino
-
The saying "drinking the kool-aid" originates from the Jonestown massacre in Guyana in the late 70's where American cult leader Reverend Jim Jones killed himself & 900 of his followers by making them all drink kool-aid laced with poison....it's meant to infer that one's opinions are so stupid they must be brainwashed...

At least we've been consistent since '57

Depending on how Steelers go against Chargers you may as well pencil in playoffs now.
Maybe they can chuck us, Browns, Raiders and Buccs in our own special, perennial loser handicap division :banghead

Pencil in playoffs now for the Bengals
Also pencil in Dalton picking his dacks AGAIN come playoffs
G-men quietly rebounding , could easily be 5-0

Had to choose between Giants v Phili and Jets v Pats when I go to NY this year. Due to scheduling and what we wanted to do and when I ended booking the Jets v Pats game. At this stage looks like it might be a pearler and a handy choice.

Lions finally sacked Lombardi. I don't know anything about the new guy except his name is Jim Bob Cooter which fits the parody of our game this season.

If we grabbed captain fumbles it would probably only be as a backup. Would start behind Abdullah who has been in form (despite the team's form), Bell and probably Riddick. I know we were keen on him the off season but we picked up undrafted rookie Zenner instead who was a revelation in the pre-season. Unfortunately he's injured for I think the rest of the season.
I think he would be a better chance of getting picked up by the Seahawks.

Panthers nearly choke away number 7 but pull it back in OT. :bow

Way to blow another solid lead, but just like the last playoffs when we were up on Dallas, choked and eventually lost to a controversial decision in which a face mask was involved, we again blew a lead to GB for them to win off a face mask penalty which has since been deemed incorrect. I know we're crap in terms of silverware but what pees me off about the NFL is that these sorts of junk calls always seem to happen in favour of teams like Dallas, Fudge Packers, Pats etc.
We were just on a roll too since booting that spud Lombardi.
-
Agree with the article below - correct or not, was always getting called. Why he felt the need to put his hand there nobody will know.
http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25400385/nfl-ref-czar-defends-controversial-facemask-penalty-in-miracle-in-motown

That's where I disagree. He didn't actually break the written rule, there was no grasp.
“No player shall grasp and control, twist, turn, push, or pull the facemask of an opponent in any direction,” Rule 12, Section 2, Article 14 states.
The rule comes with an important caveat: “If a player grasps an opponent’s facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.”
Lions defender Devin Taylor grazed the facemask of Aaron Rodgers, at best. If there was any grasping (and there wasn’t), Taylor immediately released the facemask.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/12/04/facemask-rule-as-written-wasnt-violated-by-lions/
We should never have been in that position to begin after being 17-0 or whatever it was at home, but it's not the first time this has happened to us. I think it was Levy? Who had his face mask pulled by the WR against Dallas in last season's wildcard round. It was more blatant than this and wasn't called, instead he was pinged for interference. Very inconsistent calling.
Edit: sorry, you said correct or not. So ignore my disagree bit ;D still didn't break the rule at the end of the day IMO (which my opinion is subjective in this instance), regardless of where his arm was and if it should or should not have been there.
-
Still undefeated. Hopefully Cam didn't take too much away from the club when it comes to playoffs :shh

Redskins another narrow loss. :-\

Panthers undecided last I saw on whether to go for perfect season or rest players. We have a week off anyway so I say go for it.

Will win division and likely secure 1st or 2nd seed. Who cares about perfect season if you can win a SB.

G-men will knock them off this week, so it won't matter

The FBI are going to murder an entire NFL side? I'm surprised Bents isn't on to this...

No Dalton to blame but struth they know how to choke on the big stage

Great day to be there with them knocking off the pats

The win in OT was a great finish. Great watching as a neutral. Thought it was going to be a blow out for a bit there, then the Pats came back and the massive run in OT to set up the Jets win. The chant leaving he stadium was "Brady sucks! Brady sucks!" :lol
My first NFL game I've attended though so can't say definitively but I thought the fans of both sides were great. The banter was awesome and no one took it personally which I see at AFL games all time (I'm guilty of too).

Poor Bengals missed out on the week off despite finishing with the same number of wins as Denver and the Patriots.

Great to see my Bengals didn't fail to disappoint
Choked again on the big stage
Lost 18-16 to the Steelers
Season over
Can't wait for the excuses
Actually I don't know what's disappointing losing or always believing we goin to lost these games
And BTW time for Marvin Lewis (coach) to go. They won't sack him but they should, his post season record is worse than Dimma's
-
I don't follow them but I think the Bengals today just topped anything Richmond has stupidly done in the past to lose a game.
After being asleep for 3 quarters to be down 0-15, the Bengals awaken to comeback and grab the lead with less than two minutes to go (16-15). They then get a intercept to regain possession with just 1:30 to go. That should've been game over just by safe running plays to down the ball infield and run down the clock.
Nope! The comedy relief begins with a strip of ball before the ball-carrier's knees were down to give the Steelers back possession. Then when a long throw is too high and incomplete, a moronic Bengal defender (#55) loses his marbles and tries to knock the head off of the Pittsburgh receiver as he was falling backwards to the ground. It was an absolute mindless cheap shot. The receiver was out cold before he hit the ground. To add to the stupidity, another Bengal defender (#24) pushes an opposition coach and gives away a 15 yard penalty to put Pittsburgh in friendly field goal range with just 10-ish seconds to go. The kick was good and the Steelers won 18-16.
-
They've been called the
"Bungling Bengals" of "Bumbling Bengals" for years
Now they are just
"The barrassing Bengals"
Disgraceful
-
They then get a intercept to regain possession with just 1:30 to go. That should've been game over just by safe running plays to down the ball infield and run down the clock.
Totally incorrect .. Pittsburgh had 3 timeouts left , attempting to get a first down was correct .. Just bad play by the RB not to hold on to the ball
-
Rams off to LA, sounds like the Chargers are heading there too. I thought the Raiders were a chance of moving from Oakland to there? I wonder how much that will stifle their interest from Cali supporters as two teams move into LA.

Tiger eyes to turn towards Super Bowl
Herald-Sun
February 6, 2016
RICHMOND players will be watching Monday’s Super Bowl with more interest than most, all because of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
Newton, the likely NFL MVP, will play in his first Super Bowl after leading the Panthers to an incredible 17-1 record this season.
But the Tigers may be taking some of the credit after helping Newton refine his non-existent footy skills on a trip to Tigerland.
Newton travelled to Australia last July, training with Richmond at Punt Road and watching the team face off against the GWS Giants at the MCG.
Key defender David Astbury was clearly a massive fan, wearing Newton’s guernsey when he met the quarterback, but he claimed there were Tigers who were even worse.
“Some blokes probably took it a little bit too far,” Astbury said.
“With Brett Deledio it was a bit cringe-worthy.
“He had to google NFL to understand what it was and then he found out that Cam earns more money than him, so that’s probably why he was so impressed.”
Midfielder Shaun Grigg agreed and said despite Astbury’s choice of attire, he acted responsibly.
“(Astbury) wasn’t too bad, he was a bit too shy and a bit scared,” Grigg explained.
“I tried to talk to Cam a couple of times but got rudely interrupted by Chris Newman.”
Grigg is the resident gridiron expert at Tigerland after winning the club’s fantasy NFL competition for the second year running.
He did so without Newton in his squad, instead watching as teammate Dustin Martin squandered his talents.
“(Newton) was in Dusty’s team and he sat on the bench all year, so Dusty didn’t have too much of an idea,” Grigg said.
Newton’s Carolina Panthers will face Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50, which can be watched live at 10:30AM AEDT on Monday.

The Panthers are lucky to be only 7-13 down at half-time. They've made every mistake in the book on offense. A game of defence so far which suits Denver.

Seriously, Marvin Lewis makes Dimma look like a genius
OVer 10 years in the job and hasn't won anything in the post season.... if you want to see a bloke that should be sacked but never gets close to it have a look at Marvin the Magician Lewis
-
Don't worry Billy, I'm still waiting for the Lions to have a decent offense despite year after year saying it is being addressed. Our head coach was QB coach at Colts during Peyton's years and the OC at Baltimore when they won it FFS. Classy defense but already I can tell it will be another crappy season of low scoring. Yet again we were on top at half time only to add a FG for the rest of the game and lost by a point.
-
Baltimore won it in large because it had one of the best D's in living memory
RayRay and Suggs plus plenty more
-
Yep. Was just alluding to the fact that we can appoint decent people to address a deficiency and it still doesn't change anything. I guess that's why it's hockey town and not football town. Basketball and NFL should just pack up from D town, not going anywhere. Best thing from there is Tim the Toolman ;D
-
Tarring Dee-troit basketball with your Lion brush is a shocker.
They will be good this year, Van Gundy has things on the right track.
Plus, they had the bad boys era, they had the Dumars era.
A lot of NBA teams would do anything to have the history of the Pistons.
-
It's not far from the truth. 80s-90s Pistons with Rodman, Thomas, Dumar etc long gone, just a memory. Auburn has had declining crowds for 15 years and is the butt of many jokes. Much like the city itself and players of any sport don't want to go there. Was looking up briefly there with Drummond, CP and Monroe but Monroe leaving was a kick in the guts. I'll believe it when I see it. It's a tough division with the Cavs, Pacers, Bulls never down for long. Still the best thing out of the D are the Wings, 25 seasons and counting. I'm sure you will disagree though as you do.
-
From 2001 to 2007 the Detroit Pistons made the Eastern Conference finals 6 years in a row.
They have been rank since then.
But I think you are ignoring an exceptional period for the franchise.
It was the Big Ben, Rip, Chauncey, Sheed, Tayshaun period. At which point Dumars was in charge of basketball operations.
I'm not disagreeing at how good the Red Wings are. Just completely disagreeing with lumping the Pistons with the joke Lions.
-
They were competitive through then but they were still on the way down from being conference champs and there has been very little upside since. I really like Caldwell-Pope and 15/16 was definitely an improvement on the past I just don't see where the significant improvement will come from. When I was in the NBA store in NY not long ago and after aimlessly wandering the 3 levels a store assistant asked who my team was and proceeded to show to a massive range of two different hats and a Drummond t-shirt :thumbsdown :-[ it probably sounds trivial but I've always taken into account a team's ability to move merchandise because at the end of the day who can stuffed spending money on losers unless they're the miserable rusted on types like us to who keep coughing up for the Tiges.
-
GMEN rolling!!!
And Detroit right in the thick of it after a shaky start Dwaino
-
After we got the Packers and Vikings I thought they would be important in terms of tie breaking for a wildcard spot, never thought we sit top of division! Early form may come back to bite so just fingers crossed at the moment. While you would take a win any day I just wish we could be more convincing. They've all been close wins (that OT win vs Vikings was unreal though) and I thought the Jags would be a great opportunity to make a statement.
-
Bengals continue on their losing ways
Though I hate losing, hopefully this result in Lewis getting sacked
As I mentioned earlier Lewis makes Dimma look like the greatest coach on the planet
-
6 on the trot for the Gmen !
-
Bengals done and dusted fro season 16/17
Let's see if the powers that be have the guts to sack their under performing, over rated coach :snidegrin
-
Good coach who probably isn't going anywhere.
Injuries have destroyed them this year.
It's a QBs league and Dalton is over rated, especially at high pressure moments.

Good coach who probably isn't going anywhere.
Injuries have destroyed them this year.

Agree about Dalton
But it is coach who wanted him re-signed rather than getting someone better
And I don't think Lewis is a good coach
Can't win a post season game.. :snidegrin

Big road win and the Lions go 4 straight. Two games clear of the Pack but who have two divisional games left (not including us) to our one. I can see it now, next three weeks we go 2-1 (including a win over the Bears but will drop the Giants at home), they go 3-0 then we face each other in W17 for them to win and take division on tie breakers. Huge set up for another epic Lions let down.
-
And then there were four:

Tips for who plays off in the Superbowl?

Pats v Pack but I hope I'm wrong. Stuff the Pack.
-
You'll be happy, dwaino. Packs knocked out.
Atlanta vs New England in the Super Bowl.

Philly win 41-33.
Their first Superbowl win. The last two years has seen so many long droughts in sport being broken.

The Yanks sure turn on kickers who miss game winning field goals. Cody Parkey booed off the field by his own fans.

Jeez I would hate to be a kicker. You make a match winning field goal and it’s “well, you’re supposed to make those, that’s your only job”. You miss and it’s that ^^ or worse!
Huge win for Philly though, Foles gets something out of those guys that Wentz can’t.
I’m on Indy to pinch it this season, my man Andrew Luck finding that 2014 form!

It's always an uphill battle playing repeatedly away in the playoffs. That cost Indy. Both home teams (KC & Rams) won today.

Today was a very rare time that the kicker gets praised. Greg Zuerlein from 57 yards put Rams into the Superbowl in overtime.
The refs the villains with the home Saints crowd with that no-call. Does DeBoy officiate NFL games during the AFL offseason :lol.
-
Brady will still be the Pats QB when he's 70 at this rate. Off to his 9th Superbowl.
-
San Francisco & Kansas City both through to meet in the Superbowl.
-
Should be great fun to watch, after last years absolute fizzer.
Mahomes may be beginning his journey to be the greatest QB of all time, and their offence is so good to watch.
But then, SAN Fran D is amazing.
Chiefs in a bit of a barn burner for mine, 35 - 24
-
The Chiefs come from 10 points down in the last quarter to score 3 touchdowns and win the Superbowl 31-20.
It's been an era of long sporting droughts breaking. Kansas City's first Superbowl win in 50 years and coach Andy Reid's first after 21 years as a head coach.
-
Niners threw it away.
-
Did they choke?
-
Brady into another Super Bowl leading the Buccaneers to an upset away win over Green Bay. Tampa Bay will be playing the Super Bowl at their home ground too (where's Kane Cornes?).
Looks like they will be playing Kansas City who are thumping the Bills.
-
Tampa Bay won easy 31-9. Brady does it again. That's 4 Super Bowl wins for him since the age of 37 and he said he is coming back next season too.
-
How good is this guy, seriously. Great bloke to boot it seems

RIP to the great John Madden

They were. Madden was the voice of American Football. RIP.
ps. Credit also to Madden's NFL video game which helped to make sense of the sport for those of us like me who didn't grow up with it.

Both top seeds knocked out today. WP will be a happy and relieved Bengals fan ;D.
LOL at all the Aaron Rodgers jokes on twitter :lol. After just 3 pts all game, the Niners pull out a TD off a blocked punt and then a last play FG in the final 4 minutes to win :o.

The last two minutes + OT in the Kansas City vs Buffalo game was crazy. 4 touchdowns and a FG with 5 lead changes :o. The poor Bills once again the St Kilda of the NFL.
ps. Kane Cornes to sook about the Superbowl being in LA if the Rams make it :wallywink.
-
:gobdrop :gobdrop
the Bengals have made the Superbowl
As a long suffering Bengals fan I cannot believe it
they were down 3-18 and won in OT 27-24
Wow, just WOW :clapping
-
Intense game to watch
Year of the TIGER

No team had ever won the super bowl at their own stadium until the Bucs last year. Amazing it could happen back to back
-
Rams won it 23-20 with a touchdown in the last 2 mins.
Was SHocking in charge of the NFL refs as well?
-
Gutted
But at the same time so proud. After 30 odd years of embarrassment it was a special season
-
WP's Bengals one game away from the Superbowl after being far too good for the poor old Bills in the snow.
NFC: Eagles vs 49ers .... Niners on a 12 game winning streak.
AFC: Chiefs vs Bengals

You should check out the photos of the Bengals ground today, no green grass to be seen. Completely under snow

Sorry @Bengals fans but take heart knowing you have a generationally brilliant player at the most important position with a terrific coach in place to keep everything on track. The old days of the Bungles are long LONG gone.

ps. Out of interest, this tweet could apply to the Tiges as well after last year's near misses.
-
Ridiculous penalty cost the Bengals
It would have gone to overtime
What a fool

Crazy Superbowl. Just a shootout. 35-35 with 2 mins to play :o.
-
KC won it 38-35. Field goal with 11 secs to go.
Every sport has its eccentricities but it's still weird (albeit clever knowledge of the rules) that time management is the better option than scoring an open touchdown.
Don't think either there's another team sport where one position wins you titles. Pat Mahones' second half won the game.
As for the Aussies, Siposs is copping it for that ordinary punt kick in the last quarter although the whole Eagles' coverage stuffed up allowing a record punt return.

The punt return was obviously the fault of Siposs
Hang time is so crucial and that punt was a debacle
