This was our senior leadership group this year:
Captain: Kane Johnson
Vice captains: Newman, Foley
Others in Leadership group: Simmonds, Browny, Joel Bowden, Pettifer
With Johnno stepping down, who do you think will make up our leadership group in 2009?
-
Here's my punt
Captain: Newman
Vice captains: Foley
Others in Leadership group: Simmonds, Browny, Joel Bowden, Kane Johnson, Shane Tuck
Other possibilities Deledio, Cotchin, Tambling

I would be very surprised if that was our leadership group as it's just the older guys, need to have a few of the kids in there too
Deledio will be in it for certain as he's already a captaincy candidate.

Is that official from the RFC or from the media Infamy (or anyone else who may know)?

Captain: 1. Chris Newman
Vice Captain: 41. Nathan Foley
that is all we need. every player that plays is a leader!
-
My guess:
Captain: Newman
Vice captains: Foley, Lids
Others in Leadership group: Simmonds, Browny, Bowden, Moore
Out: Sugar, Petts
In: Moore, Lids

About how I see it too MT. Maybe 1 of Brown or Bowden out and 1 of Tambling or Tuck in but can't see anyone else being in contention.

Yep smokey I initially had Tuck added on the end before realising I had one too many. If next year is Joel's last year as well as Sugar then I wouldn't be surprised to see him stepping back like Richo did to allow a younger teammate into the leadership group. As for Blingers I would want to see him have a breakout year like Lids did this year before considering him for a senior leadership position. Blingers can be part of the junior leaders.

I think you'll probably be right on those 3 MT
Personally I'd go for:
Captain: Lids
Vice Captains: Newman & Foley
Leadership Group: Simmonds, Tambling, Brown, Tuck
-
Captain - Newman
VC - Foley & Lids
Leadership Group - Simmonds, Tuck, Tambling, Bowden
Bling will get the nod because of his leadership skills and as a spokesperson for the new Indigenous Punt Rd Centre.
Tucky will be rewarded for his consistency but his quiet nature may play against him here.
We need leaders all over the ground and at 24 Moore would be the right age but he may need another consistent year before he is recognised in this group. Until this time Bowden will fill the void.

Was this the final leadership group for 2009 or is it still to be filled out?

Not a good start for Generation Next :P

Did Deledio play? Tip from you Lids read Robbo's article, you are a perfect candidate for the "no defensive pressure" label... CHASE FFS
Foley.... 30 possessions, might as well have had 10 - such were their impact
Moore - was the best of the leaders ... but he can't do it all
Newman.... perhaps overawed, don't know but a couple of his kick ins were :banghead
As for our former leaders :banghead :banghead Joel B... refer above under Lids re-chasing
Brown Nathan G, .... for an A class skilled player disposable last night was deplorable. Here's a tip get a hold of B Cousin's tape ...now that's class A+
But aprt from that I thought we were OK :banghead
-
According to Doc Larkins on MMM on the drive home, Deledio got a shoulder injury in the 2nd quarter

Did it spur him on?, I didnt sight him in the first qtr and it was only in the second half I seemed to notice him

The Newman critics weren't too bad on Thursday night lol. One of those kicks-ins was by Lids that went right over Jordie's head :-X. I wonder if they'll test the rest of the team for drugs as much as Cuz after Thursday night as they played like they were on them.
Pretty hard not to agree with all that WP.

Must of been through all those possesions he had in the first quarter. ;)
