Title: Dogs and other pets
Post by: froars on May 16, 2004, 08:43:30 PM
I'm watching this movie on dogs at the moment  - can't remember name - Best in Show I think.

I think i might see myself reflected in this movie lol - love dogs - got 3 myself who drive me nuts, but love them to death.

Anyone as silly as me - i've got 3 Tibetan Spaniels - and for those who don't know what they look like - look like little gremlins lol.

But very smart, totally disobedient like they're owner but they're the best.

Is Randy Jackson on it?

I have 2 dogs.

Who we affectionately call either:

"Stupid is and Stupid Does"

or

"Dumb & Dumber"

The youngest copies the oldest one all the time.

But like Froars - just love 'em to death.

 ;) :)

Female Rottweiler who is the biggest sooky softy and lovable creature l have known.
If a crook broke in she would only be offended if she didn't get a pat on their way out.

That dog show was utter crap too!
The only funny part was that uncooth judges gags.

That movie was done by Michael McKeen and Harry Shearer
who also did spinal tap and Mighty Wind.
Harry Sheare is on the Panel sometimes and does the voices
of Monty Burns and Smithers on the Simpsons.
If its the one im thinking about I rekkon it was pretty funny.

Is it the one where the 2 Queens have that little rat dog?

We've just got a new addition to the family.  He's only 9 weeks old and is a Jack Russell x Mini Foxy and his name is Oscar.  The cats' noses are out of joint.  I'd post a pic but I don't know how to.

Coffey's beautiful and a nice pic you got of him.
I went shopping the other day and saw in the pet shop collars in team colours.
I reckon he would look pretty good with a Tiger one
Then no-one gonna mess with that puppy lol  :rollin

I hate magpies, hawks, crows, eagles and swans too lol ;)

Misty says "pretty cocky" and has learnt to make crow sounds "ark" so he would get kicked off live tellie  ;D. Loves watching footy too believe it or not but we have to mind our language whenever Tivs stuffs up a kick lol.

If we stuck a richmond jumper on coff and stuck him in a forward pocket, we could teach him to grab the footy and run with it, leave it 1cm from the goal line and then flick it over the line with his paw. He could get the Coleman medal lol.

Haha I didn't even think of that. But he was out for a walk one day and lost that collar... it was fate  :lol
I wanted to get him a Tiger's collar, but he is a mummy's boy and my Mum supports the Eagles, she wouldn't let me put a Tiger's one on him  :P

Coffee looks like a wannabee hooligan. thats a mean face he has put on, wadya do to him lol...the poor mut.
He's camera shy :P I think I woke him up to take the picture too  :lol

Haha the good thing is, he doesn't give the ball back, if you chase him he'll just run... it could work... if he runs in the right direction  :lol He might wanna make his territory on the goal posts tho... do you think Richo would mind?

New pup is Oscar.  Most of you will recognise Gizmo from my avatar.  She will be 14 in November.  Patch was mini-me's cat that died last year.  Rennie is helping me with my paperwork.

Yeah he did - after the op he was practically naked with the amount of fur they shaved off him ;D The marks on his nose and on top of his head are the remains of glue  :o they used to keep all the tubes in him.

He had a thing called GDV or in simple terms Bloat. At his age they said he was unlikely to pull through surgery

But he got through it - as I said he's one tough little (and for a lab he is small) b_ugger :thumbsup

Everyday with him now is an absolute bonus for me and my family :clapping :clapping

The other white cat is called Highway, named such because he was found abandoned as a kitten on the McIvor Highway by my daughter when she was doing uni at Bendigo Latrobe.  She kept it for a while until she got sprung by her landlord and then it came back to Melbourne and me lol.  Totally deaf, which meant when it was in trouble and you abused it - in one ear and out the other lol.
Lovely cat, but had this really cool trick of getting up onto a mantelpiece and flicking everything that was on it off.  Accidentally got into a neighbour's house and did the same in there  :rollin
Would sit in the middle of the road while cars would try and swerve around him - he didn't care, he couldn't hear them and they could jolly well go around him.  Unfortunately, after the second time he got hit, that was his demise, but a wonderful character of a cat.  Tougher than anything at Kardina Park lol

I've only ever had dogs for pets.
I've had Zach, a Kelpie cross & Bonnie the Border Collie, unfortuately we had to give them away when I was about 7 or 8  :'(
Jackson, was my Dad's dog, I forget the breed tho. And now I have Coffey, a Labrodor Rhoesian(sp?) Ridgeback and I think he has some Staffy in him too... but that doesn't make him a dud  ;)

Everyday with him now is an absolute bonus for me and my family :clapping :clapping

8 months of bonuses was pretty bloody good ... but geesh I am so bloody upset ... miss him already

I'll admit to the odd one or two wedding ceremonies (shotgun lol - after the event  ;)) and pampering my pooches to the point where they are a touch obnoxious lol
If I had more money to spend on them I probably would.
Have gone shopping plenty of times to get something for myself and have ended up buying just stuff for them, so i'm a bit weird according to you lot.
I'll give them everything within my means but wouldn't go overboard like this lot.
They're worth looking after well, IMO

We have got a Red Australian Cattle Dog her name is Lacey. Last year we had to put down our little cross breed West Whitehighland Terrier her name was Bundy. She was bilnd and was riddled in cancer but we had her for 2 months under 16 years. But before that we had a Rotti named Dancer. She was the sweetest natured dog ever. So once tried to pull our daughter out of the river by her plats in her hair.

Can defintely say I know how you feel - losing the Old Fella (Groucho) last year was terrible. You don't realise how much they mean and how big a part of your life they are until they are not around. Sometimes I reckon we take them for granted - not delbierately of course, just happens :-\

Sorry about Bundy, Retygas.  I had to put my cat down who had cancer  :'(
Have you got any pics?
A bit too late to make the video lol, but be good to see them in this thread  :thumbsup

We just had an intruder walk into our house, and the dogs did their job and made sure they let us know someone was in the house.
Scary stuff.
Just had the dog squad and coppers everywhere but they're long gone now.
Don't think I'll be sleeping tonight somehow lol

So well done Doggies  :bow

Freaking hell!  :o

Hope you are okay Moi and well done to your doggies  :clapping. Did they get a piece of the intruder? lol

Make sure the cops have shut the gates. When we found intruders trying to climb over our side-gate of our house before being scared off by the alarm when I was kid, the cops, after checking the area out, left the side-gate wide open all night :wallywink.

If anyone sees this gorgeous little puppy in the Moorabbin area please let me know.

People came to our house today and left the door open and all three escaped.  They managed to get the other two but Holly is gone!

For those who wished me well and for those who couldn't give a rats lol, I found my dog this morning at an animal hospital in Moorabbin.  Relatively unscathed, except she will need an operation fairly soon on some patella problems.  She had them before, but her little adventure has made her left leg quite bad.  The other one not so bad, but will need an op too.
She is safe that's the main thing  :thumbsup

I know what you are going through mate.

We love our dogs because they us love unconditionally.

They make us smile when we've had a shiit day, they make us laugh at they crazy things they do ...

And they leave a hole in our heart when they go away.

But (bless 'em) they leave us with the most precious memories of their unconditional friendship and love. And that is the absolute blessing.

RIP Corky Maree

And take care the entire Ox family

Very sad to hear about your dog Oxx.  Like everyone else said, they are a part of your family.  Can't understand when people buy animals on a whim and then decide they don't want them anymore.  16 years is great time and one you will always cherish.   Corky Maree will always live in your heart.

Title: Dog Leo saves kittens in Melbourne house fire
Post by: one-eyed on October 27, 2008, 06:19:45 AM
I saw this on the news last night. What a courageous dog and best of all a happy ending  :).

----------------------------------
Dog Leo saves kittens in Melbourne house fire
October 26, 2008 02:19pm

LEO the dog risked his life to protect four kittens trapped in a house fire in Melbourne last night.

The plucky pooch tested the courage and skills of firefighters as they were forced to dodge fallen power lines to reach him and his young feline companions at the burning weatherboard home in Pilgrim Street, Seddon just before 9pm.

Commander Ken Brown said family pet Leo, which remained in the house guarding the family's four-week-old kittens, owed his life to the firefighters.

"They got him out of the house and successfully resuscitated him,'' he said.

"They are just there spending some time now with Leo before they go off duty.''

Following a few tense minutes, the animals responded to oxygen and therapy, and were now fully revived.

Commander Brown said the family was relieved to be reunited with their family pets, including the mother of the kittens, which had initially been lost in the incident.

"Everyone's fine ... we rescued anyone,'' Commander Brown said.

An 11-year-old girl suffered smoke inhalation as she made her escape, and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for observation.

She was at the home with her 37-year-old mother, a five-year-old sister and 18-year-old brother when the fire started in the front room.

However, Commander Brown said the lives of firefighters were put at further risk, with the family not having an evacuation plan or smoke alarms.

"A proper working smoke alarm and an evacuation plan equals a safer escape.''

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

A guy is driving around when he notices a sign in front of a house that
says:

FOR SALE:TALKING DOG

After ringing the doorbell, the owner advises that the dog is in the
backyard.

The guy walked around to the backyard and found a Labrador retriever
sitting quietly.

"Do you really talk?" he asked.

"Yep," the Lab replied.

"So, what's your story?"

The Lab looked up and said: "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I
was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about
my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country,
sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog
would be eaves dropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight
years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I
wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down.

"I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security
following suspicious characters and listening in on their conversations. I
uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.

"I got married, had a mess of puppies and now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed, and went back into the house to ask the owner how much
for the dog?

"Ten dollars," the owner said.

"Ten dollars!? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so
cheap?"

"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that stuff."

This joke isn't about a dog but a donkey (hey they both start with D)

Young Kevin, moved  to Sydneyand bought a
Donkey from a  farmer for $100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the
Donkey the next  day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but
I have some bad  news, the donkey died.'
Kevin replied, 'Well, then just give  me my money back.'
The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and  spent it already.'
Kevin said, 'Ok, then, just bring me the  dead donkey.'
The farmer asked, 'What are ya gonna do with  him?
Kevin said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'
The  farmer said, 'You can't raffle off a dead  donkey!'
Kevin said, 'Sure I can. Watch me.. I just won't  tell anybody he's dead.'
A month later, the farmer met up  with
Kevin and asked, 'What happened with that dead  donkey?'
Kevin said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at  two Dollars a piece and made
a profit of $898.00.'
The  farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?'

Kevin said, 'Just  the guy who won. So I gave him his two Dollars  back.'

Kevin now works for the Australian Government as  Prime Minister.

he barks once and a high pitch sound is emited if he barks again then a small electric current is given out   :banghead
(http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/eletrade08/B05-2.jpg)
its about the size of a matchbox and uses 2 1/2 size AAA batteries, one thing we have noticed is that is set off by other things as well when we are travelling ( I suspect maybe radar detector or simailer) so poor fellow gets the occasional buzz he doesnt deserve, :whistle
apart from that would recommend to all with a dog that likes to bark  :thumbsup

Ta WP. Will do. The bird expert vet today said Misty is too lively to be euthanased yet and the main issue at this stage is his very high uric acid levels. The prognosis still isn't good but Misty will be in the animal hospital for the next 3 days to flush out his kidneys and try and make him feel more comfortable in himself and alleviate any symptoms. If he doesn't respond to the treatment then we will have to get him put down as we don't want to get to the stage where he is suffering greatly. Not fair on Misty.

Sorry that the prognosis is good MT but hopefully the stay in hospital will make things a little better for the little fella

Not wanting to sound flippant in anyway but isn't it amazing what they can do.

We marvel at human medicine but what they are able to do for animals these days is equally amazing. How delicate to be able to flush out the kidneys of your little bloke. Incredible

That's true WP. At this animal hospital they even have micro-instruments for birds so they can do say an endoscopy for example.

Vets are awesome, the critter cant tell em the symptoms so they have to actually be competent to know whats wrong, not like some of the bludger quacks I have been to lately.

We leave the door open all day so Misty can fly around. A bloody speed merchant too when he flies straight from one end of the house to the other.

We've just got home from picking Misty up from his 3-day stay in hospital. Some positive news is he has responded to the kidney flushing treatment and gained some weight (he reached as low as 29g when a normal budgie's weight is around 38-40g). That doesn't mean he no longer has kidney disease but at least he's feeling a bit more comfortable in himself.

Good to hear MT, on the health and the fact that you let Misty fly.

Had a pet duck called Rodriguez that had first his eyes pecked out by magpies one week then his brain the next but there was no way i was locking the little beaner up.

Such is Life.

You sure it wasn't a crow (actually they are called 'little ravens')?  They actively hunt weaker animals, particularly birds and your poor ol domesticated duck was not toughened up by a life in the wild mate..you gotta keep em safe ..  Magpies don't attack unless protecting young or if feeling threatened.  I have seen little ravens and magpies coordinate attacks on a cat, distracting it from the front while others swooped and grabbed its tail.
The mother in law rescued a bunch of wild ducklings that the mother had abandoned on a nature strip in the middle of a busy road.  She had a big block with ponds / water feature and put em in there, got the vet to suss em out and just put them in a chicken mesh thing during the night, got the dog to bond with em and look after them during the day.  Was hilarious they followed the dog around, and he used to get in the water with em.  Two of them still come back and visit the house to this day, have a swim, bit of a snack, its pretty cool.  If you don't put em away, you got foxes, cats and I dunno bout where you are but quolls, eagles/hawks, snakes even goannas, tigers oh and sharks etc.

For those interested, Misty has been home a week now. Stable is probably the best word at the moment. He's not his old chipy choc-full of energy self and he still weighs just 32g (up from 29g mind you from when he entered hospital), but he is regularly eating, drinking, flying around a little bit and sleeping well. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort which is the main thing. We're needing to give him medication twice a day which involves grabbing him which he doesn't enjoy (I don't like grabbing him either after not doing it for 6 years but it's a necessity). We saw the Vet on Monday who cropped-fed Misty and he was pleased with how Misty was going. It is still a day-to-day thing and I need to SMS the Vet daily. So each extra day is a bonus. Touchwood so far! We'll see the Vet again next Monday if Misty keeps going as he has been the past week.

lol at steriods. I did over the years when Misty was fully well wonder what Trill put in their birdseed as he was a strong little fella with a strong jaw who could give a decent nip if your fingers/hand got in the way of his beak lol.

Very sorry to hear about Misty MT.

WP, your new addition is simply gorgeous.

On my home front, several times I've been in tears thinking I've got to put down my 17.5 year old cat Gizmo (see avatar) but she's constantly proving there's still a lot of life left in her.  Last year she had a mammory tumour which she had surgery on and proved to be larger than 3cm which normally means a life expectancy of 6 months.  A year later she gets another one but the vet was trialling some wonder drug and suggested she was a good candidate for it.  They inject the drug into the tumour (they had to do this twice) and two months later she is tumour free - the thing just shrivelled up and fell off.  Then she gets something like meningitis where she was dragging her back legs a bit and wobbly on her feet (no, it wasn't a tick) and I didn't have the funds to do a full neurological test on her, so the vet has put her on medication and she's slowly getting better.  Each time she gets sick I think this is it but the way she puts up a fight at the vet and still rules the roost at home, proves me wrong.

always a hard decision to make Julz, as it's easy to be influenced by our loss rather than what is best for the animal.

18.5 years is a good run though.

Marjorie Garber said this about dogs, but it really could be any pet.

"If you have a dog, you will most likely outlive it; to get a dog is to open yourself to profound joy and, prospectively, to equally profound sadness."

"If you have a dog, you will most likely outlive it; to get a dog is to open yourself to profound joy and, prospectively, to equally profound sadness."
My doggie is 15 yrs 2 months
She is battling on with lots of health issues
Last time I took her to the vet I thought I might have to put her down
But she wasn't in any pain, just everything seems to be packing up
So they said just take her home and love her, which I'm doing.
But she still goes on, has a good appetite, but all her fur is falling out, she keeps on falling over and can't get herself up
So when I do have to make a decision, it'll be a hard one
But I guess, like Julz, it'll be a decision with her best interests at heart.
It breaks your heart
Silly me is crying as I type this lol

18 odd years not a bad innings - real sorry for your loss & one of the hardest things to do, but you made the right decision.

And nothing silly about crying, in this crazy mad world it is a comfort to have a pet that relies on you and gives you unconditional love. You can be in the worst of moods or just had a real sh|t day, but they will allways put a smile on your dial when you get home. Well almost allways! You know what I mean.

Know exactly what you mean FNM.  Have cried so much today my eyes are red and sore.  We got Gizmo before we had the kids.  One of my favourite memories is when Mini-me was baby.  She was crying and Gizmo was really concerned about that and kept looking at me and the baby and meowing.  Then - and I wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes - Gizmo gently pats Mini-me as if to comfort her - or shut her up.  We've got a photo of when my son was a baby and he's screaming his lungs out and Gizmo has come up and the expression on her face is like "what the heck is that noise - I'm outta here!"

We started with a beagle (nice natured, yet truly stupid dog). Jessie lived till she was 19yo, so had a very long innings.

When jessie was 12yo and on the way out we got a german shepherd called Bobby. He obviously cheered Jessie up to the tune of 7yrs !!!

Then we got Maddie the maltese chitzyu to be Bobby's mate when Jessie was put down. (hahaha, the breed of dog couldnt get thru the swear filter)

So thats the history. Now for the now.

I own 18 greyhounds and made the committment when I got into it that none of my dogs would be put down (bad injury aside). So when one of my racing bunnies got sick I took her into my St Kilda apartment as a pet. She is fantastic friends with Maddie the maltese poozyu and is absolutely sensational with my 2yo daughter. I have never known a kinder, happier and more gentle dog than the greyhound that is currently lying on my bed as I type this post.

My heart goes out to you.  :'(  Sammi-Jo is now in peace.

I had Gizmo cremated and scattered her ashes around her favourite places in the garden.  Was very emotional doing it.  Going to get a memorial stone from Talking Stones to go in what I call the cats garden.  I've got a couple already for previous cats.

Sunshine is now 1 year old (his birthday was a couple of weeks ago). He pretty much now has full run of the house as he's a good flyer and he knows it too lol.

RIP Max our Alsaskan Malamute :'( :'( :'(

Early this morning at around 2.30am we had to say goodbye to our beautiful "big baby girl" Max

I got off the plane last night at 11.30 and was greeted with the news that Max had taken sick suddenly (she had gone or had started to go in her back legs)

She had been asked to hold on until I got home so that we could all be together one last time. As always she did what was asked of her.

We rushed her to the hospital and made what most say is "the dreaded decision" but was actually us keeping the promise we had made to her and that was when she'd had enough we'd let her go. She told us last night she'd had enough so we kept our promise to her

She passed away peacefully around 2.30 with her devastated Dad & Mum sitting on the floor with her holding & hugging her

RIP Max - we love you always "big baby girl"  :'( :'(

Very sad. It's the worst thing about pets :(

My news is unique and a happier story.

I have two inside pets, a Maltese named Maddie and a racing greyhound named Penny (racing name Magic Castle).

The racing greyhound happened to win Saturday night at traralgon which was great. She knows when she wins and is still strutting around like she is the greatest thing on four legs!!!

Sorry WP, it's a terrible thing to have to part with a being that gave you lots of love and loyalty.
Not an easy thing to do to put your pets down, but really, there are limits and what you did was the right thing.
Had to make the same hard decision last year with my 15 year old doggie

not sure what it's like now, but given there seems to be lots of midweek day time racing there is probably not as much of that as there used to be. It used to pretty common for blokes ( and some birds) to have one or two dogs that were pets. I imagine now that the industry is largely made up of professional full time trainers?

Not uncommon for small hobby trainers with only a couple.

Rare to have them sleeping on the couch and going to family BBQs etc.

Tomorrow penny goes for the hattrick at The Meadows. Will need a minor miracle to win tomorrow however.

After just on 7 months of dealing with the loss of our beloved Max and being a 2 dog household we decided over Xmas it was time to get another puppy

We decided to get an Alaskan Malamute as we've always loved the breed and because we knew from Max what a great breed & companion they can be

So we are pleased to announce our latest addition 8 week old Nisha came home on Monday

dony you believe it WP.
One of the areas they differ from huskies is they can be a lot more aggressive. The scariest dog i ever encountered was a malamute

This is the 2nd malamute for us al and I can tell you Max was the biggest wimp you'd ever meet. She would've let a robber clean out our house if it meant she'd got free pats. Actually she would have helped load the get away van to be honest.  ;D

All the info you get from the Malamute clubs will tell you that

Can honestly say I've never meet an aggressive (towards humans) mal in my life.

They certainly have a pack dog mentality and we told there was no way we could bring another breed into the family. We were told Max wouldn't accept other dogs. But that was so wrong. we never had any problems with bringing in Jonty (our lab) and puppy Flame into our family.

And so far one week into Nisha being home we haven't had in problems.

TBH think it has a lot to do with how they are raised & what they are taught by their owners  :thumbsup

I've always loved German Shepherds but have actually been keen on looking at getting a malamute for a while.

Anyone watch Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan? Goes to show every dog is an individual with a unique temperament, and a lot comes down to how they are raised and treated.

LOL Coach! Yep he is a bundle of energy and only needs 15 minutes to recharge so he is pretty exhausting. Loves chasing the footy and the Basketball. He was going through too many footy's so we switched him to a Basketball as its harder for him to get the chompers into. So far his scalps are 2 x sherrin's, 1 x old Ross Faulkner, 2 x Steeden's.  ;D

RICHMOND: TOM LYNCH

Lynch’s one-year-old groodle Gryff has a smart side: “He can open the back door and get himself out but can’t get himself back in”; and a naughty side: “We don’t have cushions on the couch because he chews them all”.

Lynch has learnt the hard way to hide the TV control from one-year-old groodle Gryff.

“He’s chewed up about three Foxtel remotes, so that’s the most annoying thing he’s done,” Lynch said.

RICHMOND: JACK GRAHAM

Graham’s one-year-old miniature dachshund Wally can be a naughty boy, once chewing his way through three light cords and a PlayStation controller and once “decided to do his business in a cafe”, but still gets to sleep at the end of the Tiger’s bed.

Graham said owning Wally had taught him to “leave nothing on the ground when you leave the house”.

Yes Nisha is going great, turns 7 in December. Had a knee reco in 2017 (Yes he popped his ACL).

Our oldest Jonty, our Lab is not so good. Old age has caught up with him. He has a number of ailments that can't be treated. So manage them as best we can and treat everyday we have with him now as a bonus.

I have heard what great pets greyhounds are. An uncle of mine raced them too and when they retired from racing he kept them or gave them to his kids as pets

Today was the day. We made a promise and we kept it Little Man

"Our Last Goodbye" to the most wonderful friend and companion. This morning when had to say our final goodbyes to our beloved Labrador Jonty.

The last 9 months were tough but he kept plodding (wobbling) along. We always said he was 2 foot tall and bullet proof.

Old age took a vicious hold in the last 72 hrs. It was time he said. Thank you "Little Man" we love you. Mum, Dad, Flame and Nisha

One for all the Melbourne dog owners amongst us.

Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio had anything but a ruff Sunday morning, cuddling half-a-dozen furry friends as she unveiled a multimillion-dollar plan to create 18 new parks across Melbourne.

The funding is part of the Andrews government’s 2018 election pledge to create 6500 hectares of parkland, equal to 170 Royal Botanic Gardens, in metropolitan Melbourne.

This is a photo I posted over 13 years ago when we bought this little princess home

This afternoon we had to say goodbye.

Flame, you told us that it was time for you to go and join your big sister Maxii and your beloved big brother Jonty so we let you go.

The last 18 months have been tough for you as dementia impacted. But you just kept fighting on. We thought we were going to lose you over Easter last year after you had that nasty seizure of but you said "nope, not my time to go". Tough and stubborn was your motto

We are heartbroken but know that you are no longer in any pain.

Run free our beautiful girl, we love you 💖

RIP Flame

Such a sad time for any genuine dog lover .. they are part of the family

Sucks that they don’t live as long as we do

RIP Flame  :'(

As Damo said they are part of the family, and it hurts so much when they leave because they have given to us so much unconditional love, joy and friendship. My heartfelt condolences WP. You take care mate.

I had a retired greyhound as a pet
Had been in the Philippines for a long time (longer than expected due to covid)

I arrived home and my best mate Lucky had died literally two days before I got home

Was so heartbroken.. my friend had been looking after him for me and didn’t want to tell me till I was home

I’ve got another dog now and they are all great in their own way , but by stuff it hurts when they die

You're not wrong Damo

We've been "preparing" for this for a while now or so we thought but the pain these past few days has been horrible.

Our focus right now is on the oldest of our 2 Malamutes who is 11 and was very close to Flame. He's missing her big time. So is Rogue but it isn't the same

Our 2nd heartbreaking goodbye in 6 weeks

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Nisha this week.

In the space of 3 hours we had a happy and healthy elderly boy to needing to make a mercy dash back to Melbourne for emergency vet care (we were on holidays) because he had developed GDV.

We are gutted, broken and at a loss.

Run free Nisha over the rainbow bridge to your sister Flame and big brother Jonty.

Love you mate
