You think Rewoldt is some champion do you. l payed my respect to him tonight but a few good dont win me over
Vickery on the other hand chickened out with Edwards also which would lose anyones respect

No I dont, he is striving to become one but he is no where near being called a champion.

The difference between us is I support him while he is striving to become one while you will only pay your respects when he becomes one.

l dont like the player there is something about him, something tells me he will defect after we breed him  ;D

LOL fair enough we will see if your gut feel pans out

Well then I'd be seeing your doctor to see if you are suffering from memory loss

Ryder's first 2-3 years in the system he was crap, regularly bagged by the media and supporters of all clubs for doing very little in his first few years.
He had to be moved into a loose man in defence CHB to try and get him involved in the game. He only stepped up properly in the ANZAC game last year when Hille did his knee and Ryder took over in the ruck and turned the game, He won the ANZAC medal from memory. He's never played another game that well since, but he's becoming a very good player, as he should be starting to do at his age now, especially as such a Pick 7 from 2005.
is that right, his started in 2006 & played around approx 10 games, since then he has hardly missed a game so he must be pretty poo by your opinion
He was never drafted to be a ruckman anyway but still played good enough footy not to be dropped but exploded when going into the ruck & found a new ability against bigger ruckmen. but Anyway Vickery his a chicken poo, l dont like weak players so he needs to toughen up or get rid of daddy
Yes, that is right drafted at Pick 7 in 2005 and debuted in 2006. He was 100% drafted for his ability to play both ruck and kpp, but he was also terrible early on when he started and Sheedy was critisised for playing him too soon.

You say he only played 10 games in his first year and every game in the years after that. Well if thats your standard for "tearing it up at AFL level from the start"  then how does Vickery playing 9 games in his first year last year and every game so far in his 2nd year compare?
By your own reasoning, he's tearing it up from the start just like Ryder did!!!

Just to prove my point even further
Comparing their debut seasons you will find they both played 9 games
Ryder was Pick 7 in 2005 197cm 90kg
Vickery was Pick 8 in 2008 200cm 89kg
so very similar ratings as juniors.

Averages for
Patrick 2006 3.1 Kick 2.1 Hand 5.2 Disp 1.6 Mark 0.2 Goal 0.2 Bhnd 1.1 Tack 2.9 HitO
Tyrone 2009 2.4 Kick 6.2 Hand 8.7 Disp 2.4 Mark 0.6 Goal 0.1 Bhnd 1.9 Tack 8.8 HitO

So if Ryder burst onto the scene in day one and Vickery is ahead in pretty much every stat, looks like we have a good one on our hands doesn't it.... if we're a bit more bloody patient and allow our kids to develop properly.

l think vickery was held up in his football and its affected him in his progress. but when l see footballers shy from a contest it leaves alot to be desired.

anyway his new nickname is BOC BOC thats what l was hearing around us  :lol

Vickery played sh**house.  I know he is young but he looks like a lost child out there.
The wraps on him when we drafted him was he has some mongrel in him, i would be happy to at least see that.  He has tried a few times this year but at the wrong times and given stupid free kicks away.
Does he need to go see Richies shrink or do Richmond need to get rid of his dad?
I am really perplexed with this one

Vickory is a baby and raw as they come

Hille is a class giant. He's 105 kilos. Would be 20 kilos heavier than Vickory

& Patrick Ryder is a kid also & destroyed him. wanna be a ruckman you need to think like one & be athletic & mobile. Vickery has no idea

Please improve your knowledge of football your posts are embarrassing Monk.

Ryder started the 2010 season as a 22 year old.

Vickory started as a 19 year old.

Ryder's strength is his agility which can be shown at early ages of footballers. Vickory's strength will be his body size and strength which needs to be built over time.

Completly different footballers.

Same sooks each week looking for some player/scape goat to complain about to make them feel better.
It will be someone else next week and the week after. If it's not Riewoldt its Tambling, or its Newman or its Rance or its Vickory.

Think my knowledge of football would shoot you down not to mention my record & where l'm at in football now so dont start trying to pee in my pocket waterboy
All self assessed i am sure!

The problem is we need a good ruckman - now!  Not just in 3 years time.

I still think Riewoldt needs to pull his head in, let his football and not his mouth or stupid gestures do the talking.

Actually we need a competitive ruckman in about two to three years and that is why Vickery is being blooded at the top level before he is ready

This would have to be the best post on OER.
Well done Jacosh.
This kid has got a "'saloon run"" through to AFL ranks due to his Dad.
He has little impact on a game.
I have watched Tyrone when he played TAC , he cant play, I said the same about Patterson as well.
He actually cant put his hand on the ball at centre bounces.
As bad as Graham is, Graham has gone past him in the last 2 rounds.
Graham is actually improving , why ? He doesnt seem to be scared.. Vickery is

just on ryder. he was drafted from east freo where he was playing seniors as a ruckman. his size  a little on the short and small side had essendon draft him to play chf not a ruckman. good in the air agile great leap  good skills  etc said he should make a kpp he did play as one a bit as a junior.being an east freo supporter i saw a bit of paddy and he was one i was hopeful would slip to us but but knew it was unlikely.

ryder was mainly played as a kp early at essendon and of course he struggled it has taken time to get size on him and you logically dont get the room as a forward that you get as a ruckman.it wasnt until they copped injurys to all their ruckmen that he took on the ruck duties full time. imo essendon are making a mistake in not continuing to develop him as a kpf.

just on vickery as stated for weeks now he needs to go back to coburg for a stint or as part of a rotation with browne in blocks of games.
he s timid and does not commit his body fully at times. this is understandable he does not have the  size and strength and i have seen hurt a few times now. it will be a problem only if this continues to happen when hes near 100kg and has the core strength.

The concept of a player getting a game becuase his dad is the part time boxing coach is a joke.
He's not on the match commitee and has no say at all, stop repeating such bullsh!t

Vickery is getting a game because he was our only option. Graham has gone past him because Graham is in his 5th year is 23 years old and has 100kg to put up against similar size players.

Give the kid a chance, he shouldn't be playing at AFL level but has to due to no options. Funny how you were only weeks ago ripping into Graham as a dud yet now he's playing good enough football for us to at least be a stop gap solution while we develop our other younger rucks properly.
