Hi all,
My first post so take it easy on me .... :clapping

Goodluck to Ben Griffiths and Ty.

Lets not forget ruckmen take longer to mature than others.

What Crap,  Griffiths should have had played 50 to 80 games for us by now and have dominated like Darling has for West Coast! and as for Vickery well he has forgot how to kick so he doesnt deserve a game ever ;D

O'h, welcome aboard BTW :thumbsup :thumbsup

Rapt in the 'ins': Tyrone to stand up and 'stretch' the undersized Hawks whilst Big Griif to get the job on 'Roughy'. Miller can start preparing for life as a member of the coaching panel by mentoring the youngsters at Coburg. Win, Win and Win if you ask me.
dont get this post why do you think the hawks are undersized. even with tyrone and griffiths both forward they have a spare tall.

One defender (who isn't much chop) at 193cm .....and the others hovering around 189cm......although it may backfire if this rain keeps falling.
lol gilham a premiership fb 192, birchall a defensive running back at 193, schoenmakers a 21 yr old 193 chb,
gibson a 189 athletic third tall capable of playing kp. stratton another 189cm player in the same mould as gibson. we go with just riewoldt and vickery who are both taller but out numbered 2 to one.
the hawks arent short down back they are the opposite.

if anyone is short down back its us. thank Geez they had enough sense to bring in at least one  tall defender whos really a forward to help rance.lets hope he stays when grimes gets back. god knows what we would have done if bailey was fit and they played hale forwad in the role they recruited him for.
there is no room for error and there is no flexability and we are asking blokes too often to punch out of their weight division.

Oh yes, i bet Dimma was shaking in his boots of the possibility of big baby face Hale playing in the forward line. If Hale was on our list you would be using the words 'spud and delist'  together.

Claw, if hawthorns defense was ours you'd be talking about how it lacks 2 big strong bodies and a gorilla.

Rance 194
Grimes 194
Dea 189
Batch 189
Throw in griff 200cm and u still go on abt it being a small back line....

Not everyone can be a gorilla like Merrett claw.

I think with the pace of the game blokes like Rance around their height and their aerobic capacity are taking over from traditional monster Mick Martyn type monster defenders.

Grimes is a little taller and has flexibility also.

If one of Astbury or Griffiths can fill that third tall role I think we have the makings of a pretty good defence.

Add Morris Batchelor Houli Ellis Dea Newman Conca rotating through there and suddenly our backline looks a hell of a lot more better.
