Top signing for Richmond VFL in Caulfield Grammarians VAFA forward Nick Baltas. Highly rated by one VFL spotter. Booted 42 goals from 20 outings last season.

A blow for Beaumaris VAFA prospect Hayden Bruce. The 2017 Under 19 Premier best and fairest has been training with Richmond VFL but he’s out for three months with a broken leg. The Tigers say he has some promise.

From Paul Amy Twitter

The VFL has granted Richmond permission to play Bailey Lambert (Craig’s boy) as a father-son 23rd player this year. Good luck to Bailey, who was in the NEAFL in 2017.
Also from Punt Rd, the Tigers have listed ex-Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Charlie Thompson.

Richmond’s VFL list has been bolstered with the signing of former Brisbane Lion Blake Grewar.

A midfielder who can push forward, Grewar joins the VFL Tigers after a year on Brisbane’s rookie list.

And we back!! Punt Road for @RichmondVFL vs @WerribeeFC practice match. Haven’t seen a team list but Miles, Broad, Stengle, Soldo amongst those out there. #GoTiges

Moore, Coleman-Jones & Balta starting up front. Callum Moore kicks the first goal of the match with a snap from 20 out.

Werribee equalise from a set shot 20 in front. 6-6.

52 scores for Richmond (no team sheet..) from 50 our despite being tackled by number 80 on the same team which was comically Richmond 12-6.

Soldo snap after a goal mouth scramble from 30 out in front sprays wide. 13-6.

Bolta with a strong mark in the midfield hits Soldo (looks bigger than last season) who lines up on an angle 30 out. Puts it through the middle. 20-6.

1/4 | 20 min quarter with no clock stop. Richmond having a relatively easy time of it in the midfield with Lloyd & Miles running the show. Impressed with Balta up front, looks mature. Richmond 21-6.

Broad prepping the defence, seems to be the vocal leader in the group. Eggmolesse-Smith the only other AFL listed player in that group to start the second quarter.

Richmond dribble through a goal with the lucky bounce from 15 out. 27-7.

Miles with a set shot 50 out in front setup by Lloyd. Converts through the middle. 33-7.

Werribee convert on the fast break uncontested right in front. 35-13.

And another for the visitors with a snap from 15 metres on the angle in congestion. 35-19.

HT | Momentum shift and Werribee kick another from a set shot just before the siren.

Richmond 35-25.

Miles finds Coleman-Jones who line up from 40 out on a slight angle. Misses just wide. 37-25.

55 slots the goal for Richmond. Boys have refocused after losing momentum before the half. 43-25.

Play of the game, 80 for Richmond contesting the ball and giving off for Callum Moore who races 50 metres down the sideline to slot for a goal. 49-25.

Werribee set shot converted. 51-31.

Coleman-Jones with another set shot, strong marker, but again misses wide.

Wind starting to wreak havoc here now, strong breeze in Werribee’s favour. As I tweet Werribee score. 54-37.

Another goal Werribee. 54-43 with 4 mins remaining.

FT | @WerribeeFC score on the siren but @RichmondVFL run out 7.12 54 winners over 8.1 49.

No worries mate, played the four quarters but clock didn’t stop.

Bolta the most impressive of the rookies for me. Coleman-Jones a very strong marker. Eggmolesse-Smith an energy bunny around the ground. Was impressed with their first hit outs.

Naish - He did play sorry mate, the correct number has been pointed out to me. Got forward well.

That's two impressive hitouts from Balta so far this preseason by the sound of it. Interesting to see now whether he gets a gig in the last senior preseason game against North.
