Sunday Herald Sun

THE infamous AFL spitter is to be formally charged with offensive behaviour.

Victoria Police has sent a summons to Queensland police, ordering that Richmond fan Jared Robinson, 23, answer the charge in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court in late July.

The offence carries a maximum fine of $1000 or two years' jail.

Mr Robinson will not be required to attend court in person.

Video footage pictured a man police allege to be Mr Robinson spitting towards embattled Richmond coach Danny Frawley after a dramatic Tigers loss at Telstra Dome on April 23.

A devoted Tigers fan, he had travelled from Queensland to be at the game.
