Melbourne CBD incident - Dec 21 2017
« on: December 21, 2017, 06:30:06 PM »
Bourke St all over again apparently :(.

SUV speeding at up to 100kph through Flinders/Elizabeth St intersection plowed into pedestrians before colliding with a bollard.

12-15 people taken to various city hospitals including a pre-school kid. Some in critical condition.

Driver and his passenger arrested at the scene.

Motive (Islamic terrorism or another nutjob(s) like the Bourke St killer) still to be determined by police.

The 2nd person arrested wasn't a passenger.

WHAT WE KNOW:

Victoria Police have arrested the sole occupant of the car, 32-year-old Saeed Noori, who is of Afghan descent and has a history of drug use and mental illness.

A second man who was filming the incident was arrested. He had three knives in his bag.

Police have not established a relationship between the two men who were arrested.

Two men are in custody and are being questioned by police.

Police have emphasised there is no evidence to connect the incident with terrorism.

Premier Daniel Andrews says there is no intel to suggest we need to change our current threat level or threat assessment.

A white SUV collided with pedestrians on Flinders St just after 4.30pm.

Police say 19 people were injured during the incident, 15 of them are stable and four are in a critical condition. Nine patients been taken to The Alfred hospital. Three have been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. A child with a head injury has been taken to Royal Children’s Hospital and is in a stable condition. More patients are at St Vincent’s.

Buildings fronting on to Flinders St were evacuated.

All pedestrians and vehicles are advised to avoid the area.

Driver has spoken of mistreatment of muslims...

So yeah has a drug and mental illness background but once again this was inspired by that religion.

For mine, you dont need to be officially affiliated with a terrorist organisation to be a terrorist, if you're inspired by political or religious beliefs then you are a stuffing terrorist!!
If a christian came out and killed multiple people bc he wanted to punish non christians or felt persecuted, then he too would be a terrorist. If a random nutjob whether he be white, black, muslim, buddhist or christian kills randomly bc hes mentally ill but isnt inspired by religious or political beliefs, then hes mentally ill and not a terrorist.

Why are the media and many on the left so quick to try and play down any terror links when a muslim has committed a crime? In the article they are still denying any terror links bc they can find any official affiliation. You dont need that confirmation, the guy from the Lindt Cafe siege wasnt affiliated with ISIS but he did it in the name of Islam, he was a stuffing terrorist.
