2008 draft revisited (afl site)
« on: November 16, 2017, 06:14:15 PM »
The AFL website has redone the top 10 for the 2008 draft. They have Luke Shuey going at what was our pick 8 (instead of Vickery).

AFL media gobbling Essendon's knob as usual.

Would put Hannebery, Sloane & Shuey all before Hurley. Yarran #1 at his peak and on pure talent, but obviously not on overall return.

Natanui would arguably have to be the most massively overrated player in the history of the AFL though. :shh

Not many others outside that 'redrafted' top 10.

Tom Lynch
Liam Shiels (3x premiership player)
Luke Breust (3x premiership; AA 2014)
Sam Jacobs (delisted by Carlton and then redrafted as a rookie. Anyone could have grabbed him off the Blues for nothing.)
Hayden Ballantyne
David Zaharakis
Matthew Suckling
Steven Motlop
Tom Rockliff
Jeff Garlett

An utter bust of a draft for us by the way  :P:

Vickery,
Jayden Post,
Adam Thomson from Port for pick 42
Tom Hislop
Cousins (in the PSD)
Nahas
David Gourdis
Andrew Browne
Alroy Gilligan
