Fire away ...?
-
Liam Baker - leather poisoning.
-
In: CJ, Dow
Out: Mansell, Rioli (winning goal aside thought was poor)
-
Out Mansell, Rioli
In Caddy, CCJ
Keep Balta back and ruck CCJ with Nank.
-
INS: Prestia, CCJ
OUTS: Mansell, Rioli or Naish (Houli lucky he had a shocker but Dimma won't drop him), and Ross as the sub
-
Out:
Mansell (rest)
Rioli (omit)
In:
CCJ
Dow
Agree Houli lucky.
Lynch looks a bit sore sometimes too?
-
Out: Houli, Mansell, Astbury, Ross
In: CCJ, Dow, Stack, Caddy
Naish the sub
-
Dimma said post-game that it's unlikely any of our A-graders will be back next week. Maybe Shane Edwards but that's unlikely.
-
I would bring in CCJ and use Mansell as the sub. Ross needs full games in the VFL.
Balta needs to stay in the defensive half as Astbury is looking very slow at the moment.
-
Given what Dimma said in press interview I get the impression there will be no changes however it would good if CCJ was brought in.
-
CCJ for Aarts
Dow for Mansell
Mansell sub
-
Lions a tall side with 3 big talls up forward won't allow Balta to move. They play with 2 rucks Nank needs support and we need Pickett in the guts.I hope Dimma not stubborn.

I know that some are looking at giving him as rest but I think Mansell down back is his best position at the moment because he has a bit of spice in his game and he hates losing.
With our full compliment of defenders available down there we have the flexibility to use Vlaustin in the middle for a little bit and even move Houli on a wing but for some reason the coaches don’t like to use Houli on a wing. I don’t see why when he can just be free to run up and down using his kicking inside f50 and he wouldn’t have any issue knowing how to help out the defence.
I personally don’t think it’s a good idea dropping Mansell but I would definitely bring in CCJ or Chol for some better team balance. Caddy needs to get a game against Brisbane’s bigger bodied experienced mids because we need some age appropriate bigger mids, I’d play Pickett as a centreman or ruckrover but definitely not a ruckman. Caddy also adds the option of playing up forward if things aren’t working properly up there.
So the two I’d drop is Rioli because he needs to learn to get involved more and more consistent much like his last quarter effort against GWS. Unfortunately Ralphsmith has to make way for Caddy but only because it’s a better team balance not because he did anything wrong on Saturday night.
Outs: Rioli. Ralph-Smith
Ins: Coleman-Jones (or Chol) - whoever deserves it more and tackles more, Caddy.
B: David Astbury Noah Balta Dylan Grimes
HB: Nathan Broad Nick Vlastuin Jayden Short
C: Kamdyn McIntosh Marlion Pickett Bachar Houli
HF: Jason Castagna Tom Lynch Jake Aarts
F: Callum Coleman-Jones (or Chol) Dustin Martin Jack Riewoldt
R: Toby Nankervis Liam Baker Jack Graham
Int: Rhyan Mansell Patrick Naish Riley Collier-Dawkins Josh Caddy
Emg: Jack Ross Maurice Rioli Jr Daniel Rioli Hugo Ralphsmith

Yeah don't quite see Mansell as a vital cog when our best back six are all fit...far more pressing issues further up the ground atm... :shh
EDIT: Hinges on where Baker too I guess...

My point was that in defence Mansell allows more versatility for Vlaustin and Houli to possibly play on occasion elsewhere considering our deficiencies in midfield.
I don’t think Mansell is currently suited anywhere else

It’s why I called for him to be omitted for last weeks game. Nothing against him. Think he’s done relatively well in his first 5 games but it’s just with our first choice back 6 all in the team I didn’t see a spot for him back there. Him having to play forward for the majority of the game on Saturday night proved that to be the case.

Would like to see Naish and Baker delivering some pinpoint passes into our forward line. The high bombs we delivered against Geelong were hopeless and against Brisbane’s backline will not work imho.
Ralph was ok, would lean towards Rioli rested, Mansell rested and CCJ in along with Dow or Stack.
Ross looks as though RCD has taken his mid spot and unsure where he sits ATM.
Still these are only my ramblings, but we need to see what CCJ is made of and with a string of several games.

Team Tips: Richmond appears unlikely to be boosted by the return of a number of stars with Dion Prestia, Kane Lambert, Shai Bolton and Trent Cotchin appearing to be 1-2 weeks away from an AFL return. Josh Caddy slotted two goals from 32 disposals in the VFL and might press his case, while Callum Coleman-Jones is an option given the Tigers flirted with a number of options in the ruck against GWS.

In the Mix: Round 10

RICHMOND
After a spate of injuries to top midfielders, Richmond got through the weekend unscathed. The VFL team had a whopping 97-point win over an undermanned GWS. Callum Coleman-Jones kicked five goals, but the Tigers seem keen to load up with runners, rather than big men. After a few weeks off (soreness and a bye) Josh Caddy had a big day out with 32 touches and two goals, while young inside mid Will Martyn also recorded 32. The only change may see Jack Ross play a full VFL game, rather than be used as the sub.
Verdict: No change.

RICHMOND will remain without five first-choice stars for its finals rematch with the Lions, thanks to their short six-day turnaround.
None of Shai Bolton (wrist), Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Shane Edwards (ankle), Kane Lambert (calf) or Dion Prestia (calf) will be ready in time for Friday night’s trip to the Gabba.
However four of them - Lambert excluded - are likely to be in the mix for Round 11’s game against Adelaide.
“It’s a good opportunity for those young boys that stood up on the weekend to have another opportunity against a really good Brisbane side,” Hardwick told reporters on Wednesday.
“As we get that more experienced talent back in the side it’s only going to hold us in good stead.
“The positive for us is we’ve found some players.
“Riley Collier-Dawkins was terrific again last week, Hugo Ralphsmith showed he’s going to be a player of the future.
“It’s been a little bit of a painful ride along the way but the fact of the matter is we’ve found some really solid gems out of it as well.”

Shouldn't bring back the injured players until after the bye...especially if we knock off Fitzbane... :shh
