Title: Ramps' Annual Trade Day Mark Out of 10
Post by: PuntRdRoar on October 07, 2005, 02:50:37 PM
Usually I fail the boyz and girls down at Punt Rd on this special day. But today is a bit different today im pleased to announce that the boyz and girls at punt rd have achieved a special milestone

5/10

They Passed lol.

Why Did They Pass?

1. Because they didnt give away P8
2. Because they didnt do anything stupid

Why didnt they  get higher Points

1. They failed to trade Tivendale
2. They failed to trade Rodan
3. Basically the failed to trade players who shouldnt be there.
4. Miller failed to get TW's defender that was requested.

Positives

1. We keep our Pick 8 and 24 and 40
2. We add 3 young players hopefully to the list.

Overall- A pass, but just a pass.

5/10 is a fair score. Nothing bad but nothing to get excited about. 5 days of gossip for nothing :sleep.

Miller's now only got the PSD to find a small defender.

Hopefully a wake-up call to a number of our middle tier players that the other 15 clubs dont rate them. This week showed their trade value is zero :-\.

i agree with 1
i agree with 2
i agree with 3 , but really who will want our duds if we dont want them?
about 4, maybe terry has something up his sleave with a defender, maybe patrick will join his bro in defence, maybe thursfeild is the one, who knows maybe they are eyeing off kids to develop in that role

Richmonds future 5 years will depend not on this years draft but next years draft. Theres 6 or 7 experienced players who are seriously under the pump and therell be 2 or 3 young blokes who will be let go if they dont show something. 2006 is a big year for Alex Gilmour, Dean Limbach, Tom Roach and afew others.

We always needed one more clean out after the clean outs at the end of 2003 and 2004. Next year is it.

Limbach and McGuane will be given longer to prove themselves as they are talls!

Gilmours, Jackson and Raines were very underage when drafted, and are all turning 20 sometime next season.

Roach is the player who will be under the pump the most of out the 2003 group IMO.

Hartigan is expected to gradually improve and has shown a bit anyway.

I'll give 6.5 out of 10.

They get extra for keeping pick 8  ;D :cheers

You would think so but then again.........

I think it's one of the problems all clubs face - players always seem to play a helluva lot better when they are up for a contract renewal. Give 'em a 3 year deal and they seem to go missing for the first 2 and shine in the 3rd - look at Whitnall at the Blues this year and Tivendale for us. His last contract - final year given a 3 extension because of a good season and he is now coming into the final year (2006) - it will intersting to see what happens

i dont care if tiv has a blinder next yr, i just hope its his final yr fullstop 4 us, he will never be anything better than a dud. hope he playes his last season at the burgers

I'd rather Tivs did have a blinder next year. That doesn't mean we need to sign him up to a new overblown contract. You'd also rather our players have trade value rather than none if he has another poor year and spends most of 2006 at Coburg.
