SA gov. has just announced "essential workers" can still travel to Vic but those returning from Melbourne will have to quarantine for two weeks. So doubts over if our game will be going ahead this weekend.

No the Crows can travel but Premier Marshall won't let them back in :snidegrin
-
Ch 7 news saying our game could be moved to Adelaide as Victorian teams have received special permission from the SA govt to travel over there to play (although talk of moving the game is premature).
Tom Browne added our game could even be moved to Sydney to play it at a neutral venue.
-
Senior Richmond advisor Neil Balme was asked about what the restrictions could mean for the game moments after the news broke.
“There’s been a lot going on today and we assumed it was all reasonably okay for this weekend. I know our blokes are all being tested tomorrow to make sure they’re fine before the game so there’s no real risk in the game for Adelaide, but coming back, it depends on what else they do I suppose,” Balme told SEN SA.
“I do feel for the people making the rules, but I’m hoping the game is on obviously.”

Yes, seeing this latest cluster is a result of SA hotel quarantine :banghead

According to Footy Classified:
Adelaide can't come to Melbourne & we can't go to Adelaide.
So the favoured venue at the moment according to Caro is Giants Stadium but it could also be played at either the Gabba, Metricon or Tassie. Even Perth isn't ruled out as the WA borders are still open.
Vic clubs could be moved out tomorrow. [ed. might explain why so few of our players were picked for our VFL game against Frankston].

Oh FFS.
Here we go. Bye bye home games at MCG.
As if the season wasn't hard enough with the injuries and umpiring.
-
As mentioned on our news Richmond Adelaide is a significant chance in Sydney as a neutral venue.

The AFL is weighing up GIANTS Stadium as the venue to host Richmond v Adelaide on Sunday afternoon.
Foxfooty.com.au understands GWS’ home ground is the most likely destination if the game is moved from the MCG.
It would remain at the same time, 1.10pm.

This is laughable what how many cases 10 to 15 and we need take games into another state no wonder we're behind in covid response compared to rest of the world deal with it pathetic.

Sarcasm?
-
I heard the game will be moved to the SCG
-
My bet that the whole round and maybe the next will be postponed.
-
Richmond to fly up to Sydney at 4pm today.
Our match at this stage will be at Giants Stadium at 1:10pm on Sunday.
The AFL has a heap of contingency plans so things can change within half an hour including bringing the bye forward to next week.

Tigers preparing to fly to Sydney for Crows clash
By Daniel Cherny and Peter Ryan
The Age
May 27, 2021 — 9.30am
Richmond are preparing to fly to Sydney later on Thursday with Sunday’s match against Adelaide set to be moved from the MCG to Giants Stadium as the AFL responds to Victoria’s escalating COVID-19 crisis.
While the AFL has not publicly confirmed its plans, Tigers assistant coach Adam Kingsley said Richmond were bracing for an imminent departure to NSW.
“I’ve heard the likelihood that it’s going to be moved to Sydney and we could potentially be flying out as early as today, but I haven’t actually heard that [for sure],” Kingsley told SEN SA on Thursday morning.

Okay this is changing by the minute.
SEN just said that Neil Balme is saying our game may be moved to tomorrow (Friday).
-
Gerard Whateley on SEN said his sources are still saying our game will be Sunday in either Sydney or Brisbane.
The question mark is the Demons have now gone into isolation (player was at an exposure site before knowing it was) so their game tomorrow night against the Dogs might be off. So that's where the thought of our game possibly being moved to tomorrow night comes from.
-
Whateley now saying because of Melbourne going into isolation, their match is in jeopardy and our game could be moved to Friday night in Sydney.

What an utter poo show
-
so is it official we are playing in nsw? A road trip might be the way to go.
At least gladys has a clue what she is doing
-
That's why we were in Qld last year :whistle.
If the Club had a choice I reckon we would've chosen Metricon in Qld rather than Sydney.
Not confirmation for our game yet but the AFL site is saying:
And Richmond's clash with Adelaide, originally scheduled for Sunday at the MCG, is set to be moved with Tigers officials bracing for the game to be played in Sydney.

Exactly. Surely, being our home game, we would get a fair say in where we are playing. Hopefully Benny et al are working the phones talking to QLD and opening up that option.

No road trip
Gladys' government has declared that ...
You arrive in Sydney from Melbourne today after 4pm and you must follow the Vic lockdown rules
So you would stuck in a hotel for 7 days
-
Seems like we might be going to Perth for 3 weeks. Adelaide, Dreamtime and then West Coke

Tigers prepared to play 'anywhere, anytime'
Richmond is drawing on its 2020 experiences as it adapts to the changing circumstances.
By Grace Kalac
AFL Media
29 May 2021
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says the Tigers are taking their unexpected trip to Sydney in their stride as they adapt to the changing circumstances.
Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday's clash against Adelaide at Giants Stadium, Hardwick said the team was drawing on its 2020 experiences and enjoying the opportunity to connect as a group.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Tigers' movements following this weekend's match, their sights are firmly fixed on the present.
"It's a bit of a blast from the past, we have a fair indication of what it looks and feels like from last year," he said.
"We're looking at it as a positive from our point of view, it's good to get back and reconnect as a club.
"Our leaders have spoken about how it's a great opportunity for us to strive to come together and play some really good footy.
"We're open to anything. Our club is really open to keeping the game going and we're prepared to play anywhere, anytime."
Richmond will regain top-tier midfielders Trent Cotchin, Dion Prestia and Shai Bolton for Sunday's game. Talented talls Callum Coleman-Jones and Mabior Chol have also been recalled for their first appearances of the year.
It'll be a new-look line-up for the Tigers, who will be without David Astbury (Achilles soreness) and Tom Lynch (knee), but they're excited to see how it unfolds.
"We haven't seen these players play together, so how it works we're not quite sure, but what we do know is it's going to give us a really different look than what we've seen before," Hardwick said.
"It's exciting, we've got some guys that have been in really good form at VFL level. Callum Coleman-Jones, we're really excited for him to get his opportunity. It's been a long time (between games).
"He's been one of the in-form players in the competition at the lower level and Mabior Chol as well, he's another player that we've had a really good look at and he can do some wonderful things on the football field.
Despite being pleased by the young talent Richmond has unearthed in recent weeks, Hardwick was looking forward to injecting some experience back into his midfield on Sunday.
"We welcome back some bonafide stars in Trent Cotchin, Dion Prestia and Shai Bolton," he said.
"We're just looking forward to getting out there tomorrow and playing."

Is this on channel 7 by any chance?
-
Not in Victoria.
It’s on Kayo. I think you can still get a free 2 week trial if you don’t want to pay.
-
Its a disgrace they take awsy our game and we cant even watch it properly on tv
-
Stuffen AFL can jam it. Sick of those corrupt pricks. Our MCG home game played in Sydney and then Dreamtime in Perth. FMD only the Tigers!
-
Hopefully the boys use the expression Dimma used last year in that Amazon doco.
"What stands in the way becomes the way!"
Everyone is writing us off. So we're back to being the hunters which is the way we usually like it. Today is day one and Adelaide up in Sydney is the first to stand in our way. We need to just get the win no matter how scrappy and work our way back inside the top 8. Hard at the footy, win the contested ball, up the defensive pressure across all 4 quarters, and finish off on the scoreboard.
-
Rioli confirmed as the medical sub.
https://twitter.com/Richmond_FC/status/1398842849186107392
-
Aarts should have kicked it not handballed to Graham
Cotchin gets a free and kicks a goal
-
Nank off
Limped to the boundary after 1st ruck contest
-
Pathetic defence there allowing Fogarty to take basically an uncontested mark
Goal
1.0.6 a piece
-
That there is what was I was concerned about. Playing one tall defender short. Floss was on the taller Fogarty there.
Nank is back.
-
We look a bit off
Poor choices moving the ball forward from half back
Kicking in hope
-
This is pathetic so far. No movement and we're just giving the Crows the ball back with dumb down the line kicks :banghead.
-
Aarts poster.
7 - 13
-
Houli again without courage.
Worrying signs
-
Shocking by CCJ there
Gifts Walker a goal :banghead :banghead
-
This is pathetic
-
It's been a while and hope I'm wrong but we look flat as a pancake 🥞
-
Talk about a lack of urgency and a lack of effort.
-
We don't get soft frees like that 10m out ::).
Speaking of soft. Some soft efforts in the contests and stoppages.
7 - 25
-
Another one to the Crows
Pathetic at the moment
Massive trouble right now
-
Another soft goal from a stoppage :banghead.
We haven't turned up to play :help.
-
Any chance we can stick a tackle :banghead
A mistake by them and Bolton goals
-
CCJ looking way way way out of his depth.
He looks poo.
-
Boy did we need that one. Bolton goal.
Rich 2.1-13
Adel 5.1-31
-
Drop him and bring on Chol.
-
Our kids look out of their depth
-
Too many fumbles from the VFL players. Cost us another thee to Tex nearly
-
Tackling and fumbling like a bottom 4 side :banghead.
-
Our defenders aren't coping with Tex not leaving the F50
We like to play a spare but Cows aren't allowing it
-
And that is what we complain about. A clear free to Grimes against Tex and not paid.
-
Not sure it’s just the kids... we have got some guys horribly out of form and a few who are no longer AFL standard footballers.
-
Bloody lucky free to Jack
-
Great kick Jack :gotigers.
Rich 3.1-19
Adel 5.3-33
-
Why wasn't that a free to CCJ?
Arm chop, around the neck? :banghead
-
Some horrible non efforts there
-
And that is what we complain about. A clear free to Grimes against Tex and not paid.
Mark to a Balta and the opponent hits him high, stays over the mark and fakes to hit him and no 50.
-
Very poor qtr
Fumbles, lack of intensity, poor decisions
-
Was that over the shoulder to CCJ?
Anyway the resulting play sums up this qtr. Sitting back waiting for the ball to come to mark ti and we get intercepted by the Crows being more desperate.
-
Our defence being ripped apart again.
CCJ has to protect the ball better at this level.
-
Was that over the shoulder to CCJ?
Anyway the resulting play sums up this qtr. Sitting back waiting for the ball to come to mark ti and we get intercepted by the Crows being more desperate.
Only when it's against our backs MT
Yes it was high
-
CCJ and Chol in the same side doesn’t work
They offer sweet eff all across the ground when the ball hits the ground
Too top heavy
-
Breeze this quarter hope we can use it.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 3.1-19
Adelaide 6.3-39
Goals: Riewoldt, Bolton, Cotchin.
One word: Soft! :banghead
The Crows are more desperate for the loose ball in the clinches and are working harder off the ball to get numbers to the fall of the ball and to spread and offer handball receives to break the lines.
-
We are leading free kick count 7 to 4.
It ain’t the umps people. :rollin
-
It starts in the contests. 7-13 down :thumbsdown.
-
No movement still with Broad's kick inside F50 but Chol gets the crumbing goal out the back :gotigers.
Rich 4.1-25
Adel 6.3-39
-
Probably best passage of play for the day
Graham goals
-
Better control of possession. Aarts front and square off to Graham for the Goal. :gotigers
Rich 5.1-31
Adel 6.3-39
-
The goals we are giving up are so soft
-
Back to ballwatching, fumbling & dropping marks :banghead
31 - 45
ps. Can we actually win a centre clearance today? ::)
-
More pathetic insipid efforts by our defence
-
Who is the donkey of an assistant coach leading our defense....
-
Backline grabbing jumpers not tackling hips.
-
Terrible by
Bolton, have to nail those
-
Bolton set shot miss from 40.
32 - 46
-
3 tall forwards today and none ever sighted up around the 50
-
Dusty good kick and that's better CCJ. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 6.2-38
Adel 7.4-46
-
That was better. :clapping
-
Why does Castagna get a game? I am so confused. He is useless.
-
Our pressure up to 217 (elite).
-
Selfish hero shot Caddy :facepalm.
-
Hot potato handball from Houli straight to a Crows player and they go inside 50.
-
Old age catching up with Houli.
Sloppy by Prestia giving Tex a free shot. Lucky his misses.
38 - 47
-
Bolton snap under pressure misses.
39 - 47
-
CCJ great 2nd effort kicks to Choi
-
Goal to Marbs
Tigers 7.3.45
Crows 7.5.47
-
More volleyball there than football. CCJ gets a hand in and kicks it quickly inside 50 and Chol marks. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 7.3-45
Adel 7.5-47
-
Interesting they've moved Baker back to HB
-
Great kick from the boundary for a goal from CCJ :clapping :gotigers
We're in front :o
Rich 8.3-51
Adel 7.6-48
-
Much better qtr
Got things on our terms
-
Selfish hero shot Caddy :facepalm.
Worst on ground
-
Half-time
Richmond 3.1 8.3-51
Adelaide 6.3 7.7-49
Goals: Chol 2, Coleman-Jones 2, Riewoldt, Bolton, Cotchin, Graham.
Still not pretty and we're making dumb mistakes but our pressure is what has got us back in the game. Nice to get 5 goals out of our 3-tall forward line so far.
-
We are lacking a general down back at the moment. Houli is getting caught in no-mans land and not getting the overlap handballs he used to get. We are very much a kick / mark team at the moment.
-
Agree re Houli, his time unfortunately coming to an end.
3rd quarter huge here for our season and premiership defence. Need to ramp the pressure right up.
-
The big Tex having a great game. BOG so far. :help
Luckily he didn’t play like this in the gf. :rollin
-
Agree re Houli, his time unfortunately coming to an end.
3rd quarter huge here for our season and premiership defence. Need to ramp the pressure right up.
Wouldn’t hurt to put him on the wing I reckon. He can at least use his elite kicking to advantage inside 50.
-
We are lacking a general down back at the moment. Houli is getting caught in no-mans land and not getting the overlap handballs he used to get. We are very much a kick / mark team at the moment.
Yeah, it's a very different game from us. Even the frees are our way 12-7 :o. High possession and mark game but with low inside 50s per disposal. We've had 30 more disposals, 35 more uncontested footy and 40 more marks. Conversely, we down on 1 %ers which we usually dominate.
We're winning the contested footy now but still getting smashed in the clearances. So our post-clearance work needs to improve. IMO more a result of our fumbles and poor decision making at key moments. Lots to improve on in general play with the footy. Our pressure was good without the footy in that 2nd qtr.
-
Send Houli forward.
-
Adelaide have activated their sub. Small forward Berry is off concussed.
-
Terrible there Tiges twice. First time we had the numbers at ground level yet they got out. Then with Caddy's kick needed more than Chol at the top of the square to make a contest.
-
Good smother by Caddy in the pocket. Chips to Chol. Misses.
52 - 49
-
Really poor defence there :banghead
-
Chol gets pushed out of marking contests way to easily. Like he gets surprised when the opposition engage him. Really needs to find a mean streak and hunt some players.
-
Not a defender in sight
-
Lazy to get back :banghead.
3 Crow forwards to one Tiger defender :banghead.
After having in it in our F50 for the the first 5 mins they run it down for goal :banghead.
52 - 56
-
Nank down to Bolton out of the middle and CCJ marks 30 out. Goal! :gotigers
3 to CCJ.
Rich 9.4-58
Adel 8.8-56
-
Well done CCJ
Up with the pace of the game now
Typical when coming up from the VFL, getting up with the pace of the game
-
Broad intercepts. Off to Balta who finds Bolton who chips to Jack 40 out. Misses.
59 - 56
-
How was no. 25 allowed to take that mark :banghead
-
And that's why CCJ was needed in the side. That contested mark down the line.
Bolton off to Dusty for the goal :gotigers.
Rich 10.5-65
Adel 8.8-56
-
Chol 1-2 with RCD out of the middle. Jack goals :gotigers.
Rich 11.5-71
Adel 8.8-56
-
Jack nice kick to CCJ whose leads there were excellent. 4 goals to CCJ :gotigers.
Rich 12.5-77
Adel 8.8-56
-
Both young big men have been impressive
-
Bloody beautiful watching RCD, Chol and CCJ
-
Hugo ......... nice! :snidegrin
Rich 13.5-83
Adel 8.8-56
-
Bloody beautiful watching RCD, Chol and CCJ
x2 :thumbsup
-
Bloody beautiful watching RCD, Chol and CCJ
x2 :thumbsup
x 3
Especially RCD..wrapt for the kid.
Always knew he'd be OK
-
Go Hugo :clapping
-
Hugo has done it again :gotigers.
Rich 14.5-89
Adel 8.8-56
-
Damn you Nank :banghead
:rollin
-
Chol down to Cotch out of the middle to Jack who hits up Nank 35 out. Misses.
90 - 56
6 zip in centre clearances this qtr.
-
Do we still have a breeze in the last does anyone know?
-
3/4 time
Richmond 3.1 8.3 14.6-90
Adelaide 6.3 7.7 8.9-57
Goals: Coleman-Jones 4, Chol 2, Ralphsmith 2, Riewoldt 2, Bolton, Cotchin, Graham, Martin.
Simply a dominant 3rd quarter with many of our younger players starring :clapping.
-
The question about playing 2 rucks has been answered.
When Lynch is fit would love to see he and CCJ play together with Jack up the field a bit. Chol then relief rucking. He's been great today
-
%
-
Put them away boys
-
Do we still have a breeze in the last does anyone know?
Well Nicks didn't even know there was a breeze lol.
If there is a breeze then yes we're going to that end in the last qtr.
Can't rely on it though. Need to keep up the pressure and workrate that has seen us kick 11 of the last 13 goals since 1/4 time.
-
Hopefully Balta learns from playing on Walker
Bodyon body he's looked lost
-
Looks like the Crows are just going to hack it forward now in desperation. Need to be defensively minded for that.
90 - 63
-
:banghead :banghead
Pathetic by Vlastuin
What was that?
:help
-
Seems we've out half asleep :banghead.
90 - 69
-
Switch back on
-
Shocker Jack. OOTF.
-
Cotchin :banghead :banghead
Just dumb footy
-
Don’t cough it up now :banghead
-
Lots of dumb footy so far this qtr :banghead
90 - 75
-
Chol... mark the footy!
-
Mark that Chol.
-
WHAT THE HELL!!!??
-
Aarts OOTF as well :facepalm.
Why didn't Caddy take the kick as he can kick longer?
-
Begging to get beaten.
-
RCD from 50 and it's rushed.
91 - 76
-
Really bad turnover by RCD
We've stopped
-
We are cooked
-
This is pathetic.
-
Season over if we cough this up.
-
This is just dumb footy. No defensive set up behind the ball :banghead.
91 - 82
-
We will lose unless we find a gear
-
Just when we needed a leader to stand up...JACK!
-
Mark of the week that
-
That was a crazy mark by Jack back into the pack :gobdrop.
Needs to finish it off and he does :gotigers.
Boy did we need that.
Rich 15.7-97
Adel 12.10-82
-
Mark and Goal of the Century
-
Mark of the week that
Yeah to Marbs ;D
-
That was a lucky "15m". Lucky for Aarts we got away with it to Jack.
Misses. Poster.
98 - 82
-
Jack running around like it's 2010
-
JACK
-
Jack has said stuff this I'm stepping up. Marks the pass from Graham 30 out. Goal! :gotigers
4 to Jack.
Rich 16.8-104
Adel 12.10-82
-
Caddy gotten better as the game has gone on
-
How many fumbles in one minute :banghead
104 - 83
-
That Jack mark was very similar to the mark of cousin Nick a few years ago (most courageous mark ive seen)
-
Caddy gotten better as the game has gone on
Agree
End of the day he's done what they want their wingers to do and that's run and run both ways
-
Balta 60m 'pass' to Jack in 12m out. Goal! :gotigers
Jack's 5th to seal it.
Rich 17.8-110
Adel 12.11-83
-
That Jack mark was very similar to the mark of cousin Nick a few years ago (most courageous mark ive seen)
Agree. Crazy good mark.
-
Terrific last 10 mins
-
Well done Balta.
Great spoil, quicker learner :clapping
-
Honestly Castagna...
-
I was wrong , never in doubt😁
-
Geez George you're out of form.
111 - 83
-
Honestly Castagna...
May never see him again this year

Time for Stack to replace George next week
-
:phew
Good 2nd & 3rd qtrs. Ordinary 1st & last qtrs. Got run into the legs of those who came back. Cubs stood up when needed. Take the win and move on. Will need to play much better across 4 quarters against Essendon.
-
No injuries a good result
-
Play like that next week and we'll be flogged... :shh

Starting the last with Nankervis instead of Chol at the centre bounces didn't help...strange move from Hardwick there ... :shh
-
Last quarter a horrible start not good enough let them in.Got to keep opposition teams score 60 and under like previous years tighten that up.
-
The way we are conceding a run of goals this season when we lose momentum is very unrichmond like. I’m sure there are things happening up the ground which aren’t helping but there are just too many occasions were the opposition are having 1/2 free players inside 50 to take uncontested marks for easy goals. One of things that have made us so great is that even when the games not our terms we’ve been able to hang on and not concede large run of goals so that when we get the game back on our term we can pull away.
Like I said prob some issues up the ground which aren’t helping but Grimes, Astbury and Balta just not at their usual level either.

Tex was pretty good, credit where credit is due, his mark against Balta was amazing

He's having a fine season, maybe a last hurrah.
Nobody would have taken him 6-9 months ago.
Good for him. Everyone loves a power forward, especially those that have been humbled by the mighty tigers.

Tex is an utter tool
Tex was also awesome today
Really really awesome

AFL Report Card: Round 11
Ben Waterworth, David Zita and Max Laughton

RICHMOND
Just when we thought we were off them they pull us back in. The defensive lapses that cost them in the opening term were quickly rectified and the Tigers bounced back incredibly well to prove yet again we can never write them off. The lesser-known names thriving is a big positive for them, particularly given the absence of Tom Lynch, with the side doing just enough to keep themselves in the top eight. Essendon at Optus Stadium next week all of a sudden looks like a great test given the form of the Bombers.
In the votes
Jack Riewoldt, take a bow. His last quarter was simply extraordinary. From that mark to the three goals, he was everywhere and powered the Tigers to victory against a fast-finishing Adelaide outfit. Callum Coleman-Jones with four goals in his second career game would’ve sent tongues wagging, while Mabior Chol also had periods of dominance in the ruck with great follow-up work. Shai Bolton picked up where he left off, Josh Caddy got a lot of the ball, Dusty and Jayden Short performed well ... it was all coming up trumps for the Tigers by the time the final siren sounded.
Room for improvement
What happened in that first term? The Tigers looked shot given how the Crows were trampling all over them, doubling them in the inside 50 count and piling on six goals. Again in the final term they were pegged back rapidly before Jack Riewoldt took control of the match. Worrying stints defensively for a side that has been rock solid in that area for half a decade now.
