Title: What are your expectations of Hardwick's 3 years?
Post by: one-eyed on August 27, 2009, 03:33:51 PM
While Hardwick is in his honeymoon period and before anyone calls him a dud coach lol, what are your expectations of Hardwick's initial 3 years? Where do you expect us to be by the end of 2012?

2010?
2011?
2012?

Nothing.

We've expected everything for the past 20 years.

I don't care for premierships or finals right now.

I just want to start going to the footy again and being entertained for my money. Whether that be winning or being competitive against all teams at worst.

All I want to to go Round 1 and come away feeling fulfilled that I got my moneys worth and enjoying to look forward to the next week to see the same competetive outfit.

Ladder position, Win Loss ratio, Potential, Expectation - all should be thrown out the window and focus on being competitive for 120 mins and then switching off to do so again in a weeks time.

Thats all I expect, and all I want at this stage.

Based on the Hawthorn model of rebuild

2010 13th to 16th
2011 8th-12th
2012 5th -8th
2013- 2018 top 4 most years with premiership window open and hopefully snaring a couple. :thumbsup

Expectations are gone - Dissappeared in Round 1 & that was all I had left after spending the rest over the years.

Hope is another thing alltogether - Allways have hope or there is no point suffering any more.

Like Pope said - 'I hope' I can go to the footy and see us compete at the very least, watch the team develop and give me(us) something to cheer and feel proud of once again.

This year is right up there with some of those really (I mean REALLY) bad years we have had and just leaves a hollow feeling in the pit of your gut.

Expectations none Hope

2010 - Don't think! Well "Hope" that a clean out will not have to much of an effect as those players that go wouldv'e been part of the problem. Give me 8 wins and a surprise or 2.
2011 - Hope we start pushing the 50% + mark
2012 - Finals
2013 - Finals and pushing

Everyone else who has been down has done a rebuild and come back up, about freakin time our number came up .....

Bar Freo of course  :lol and I shouldn't be laughing at anyone really.

Last time we had a change of coach we went from 4 wins (2004) to 10 wins (2005)

It would not be surprising if we had some moderate success next year.

2010 - 9th - 12th
2011 - 6th - 10th
2012 - 3rd - 7th

What stripes has said above is what I would expect

But I also agree with what Pope has said regarding HOPE

To be honest I am just so much looking forward to this season is being over and that right at the moment I really don't care about next season

I need a break because it's been the toughest season in quite some time - yes even tougher than 2007 when we won the spoon

Next Year a couple of positions higher, But not holding my breath. And a clean out.
2011 more direct play and hardness at the ball brings us close to the top 8.
2012 Harwicks training policy has paid off as we are about to play in our first final's in a long time.

2010 - A definite change in attitude, harder more ruthless, and positive development of kids.

2011 - A bit of respect from footy fans and media.

2012 - A healthy loathing from opposition fans (especially the Scum and Filth), fear from opponents and an enormous roar from the Yellow and Black army.

I wish I had said this. It sounds twice as good to what I put down.

If he has his contract extended after 3 years he'll have done well.

It's going to be tough for the most part.
