I used to collect watches when I was about 18-19  :thumbsup

Family used to say I was aiming to have a watch for every day of the year  ;D

Now - I hardly ever wear a watch  :P

Most important watch I have is a pocket watch that was my Dad's that Ma Powell gave him before they got married. So estimates are it is about 60 years old. The brand is "Ralph Lever". It still goes too  :thumbsup

I have a Citizen eco-drive. Nothing fancy (just time and day date) but I've never needed to replace a battery and I've had it for about 10 years. I was told at the time it worked by converting mechanical work from your arm movement but I believe they actually work by a solar cell absorbing the energy from sunlight and artifical light passing through the face of the dial. This solar energy is then converted into mechanical and/or electrical energy to run the watch. Before the eco-drive I wore a digital Citizen watch and it still works (bought it in 1985).

ps. I don't work for or sell Citizen watches lol.

Hated watches ! Always have, tried to wear one early days but it pised me of too much, never lasted more than a day or 2 from memory.

Have an inbuilt clock in the head, never far off on a guess when there is no clock around  ;D

Antiques and old stuff I find pretty cool though ....

Now that I'm getting older I have to have a watch with larger numbers on it. Just so I can read the numbers on it.
But I have to say I like the idea of that eco drive watch.

I bought a genuine TAG divers watch when is was in San Francisco in 1995 and it has not missed a beat since and keeps excellent time.
