I had a former workmate from Christchurch who went back home a few years ago. She lived on the outskirts of Christchurch so I hope she is okay.

It is amazing how tragedy stirs such emotion and pulls at our hearts, but at the same time evokes a fascination and awe of the planet on which we live.
-
The massive scale of destruction is really only hitting home now with about 100 dead and over 200 people still unaccounted for :( ; not to mention street after street in Christchurch in ruins due to the original earthquare shock, aftershocks and the resulting liquefaction where the whole ground has turned to soft mud and building foundations are now useless.

Yeah!! Ray Martin is one of a rare breed who can go to the hairdressers to get his haircut and do his grocery shopping at the same time.
