Is he a Dimma sort of guy? Reckon his ego would be to large. Not saying that's a bad thing just not right for our club.

Does he have the skills to coach. A lot of the stars seem to make average or bad coaches. Get the feeling that footy comes so naturally to them they don't really know what they do that makes them special so they find it hard to pass the knowledge on.

It's the middle of the road players that have to work really hard for everything they get and who struggle with their game to get the best out of themselves, who make great coaches. Malcolm Blight, Lee Matthews and Kevin Sheedy are obvious exceptions though Blight went a little mad in the end.  :-\

Was Sheedy a really gifted footballer or was he an honest battler in a champion team? I'm asking because I can't remember. All those guys seemed like superman to me as a 7 year old.  ;D

Was a very honest battler in reality but had an insatiable appetite for the contest and a filthy adverse attitude to being beaten.

And on the Carey question, when he first started in the media I thought he was a breath of fresh air and I put a lot of stock in his comments/opinions but he appeared to lose his way as his personal life unwound.  Don't know if he would be a Dimma type of guy now.

Just asking the question but wouldn't he be a benefit to our key position players giving valuable knowledge to Griffiths, post, Vickery etc. It would only be a part time gig and specialist advice at quarter time and half time etc.

Yes for me, bloke is arguably the best Centre Half Foward to have played the game and certainly the best for the last 20 years.

Word is he made a huge difference to Travis Cloke's game.

Would think as a champion of the game he could offer something.

Whether its a few speeches of his experiences as a forward could only be insightful guys like Riewoldt, Griffiths and Vickery.

And another thing Carey has forgotton more about footy in the last 60 seconds than our current forward coach will ever know.

And Carey doesn't need Tel McCann to watch his back in the Winchester.
