Ty Vickery will be Richmond’s No. 1 ruckman in Saturday night’s Round 16 clash with Essendon at the MCG in the absence of Andrew Browne, who has been sidelined with a hip injury.
Assistant coach Brendon Lade told Matthew Richardson in this week’s Roar Vision preview show that Vickery would do the bulk of the ruckwork, with support from Ben Griffiths, who has recovered from the rib injury that forced him from the field early in last week’s match against Carlton, and Jayden Post.

lol......I can see the resemblance between Brown and "Hands" off Boston Legal!
-
Is Post goign to ralistically be the 2nd ruck?
Surely they would not risk Griffith's being injuried in a ruck duel ???
-
Im hoping Ty and Postie will take duties leaving Griff and Jack in attack.
looks alright to me.
Just looking at our key position players now.... They are babies.
Throw in Astbury and Grimes and we actually have a bit to work with in this department. Just need a #1 ruck and a big defender.

hahahahahaha
how comical was it. Hands on hips while his opponent is running around non stop within 20 metres of him.
Gus might be weak gus might be crap but next to Browne well IMO he is a better ruckman thats for sure

Yep Vix and Post may be the go with Griff and Jack up front. If that's the case without Gus coming in then I'll take it. May just work up front if we can get it down there enough.

Graham and Browne are finished as Richmond AFL footballers. This week selections shows exactly where they are at, they had their chance and blew it.

Browne is injured.

Browne is injured.
Beat me to it
So let me get this straight Flagmans re Browne are you saying he should be binned after only 3 seasons and a dozen games at AFL level but it was fine to give Gus 5+ seasons to develop before his annointed binning?
If all ruckman in the AFL was given just 3 seasons to develop then there would be many left
-
I started a thread somewhere about our ruckmen a while back. My opinion and its just my opinion so it can be correct by some and incorrect by some others is that neither Graham or Browne look capable of being Richmond AFL Premiership ruckmen. I also dont like the fact that Vickery who has done so well up forward has to be moved to cover up for the poor performances of our rucks division this season.

i think the difference between browne graham and most other ruckmen is tother ruckmen have some tools to work with.
with so many deficiencies i for one think graham has been hung onto for too long. there is no way id give browne 5 yrs i think with what he has to offer like graham is little.he must be close to being cut.lots of clubs have indeed rookied young ruckmen had a good look at them while in their system for 2 yrs and then made a decision one way or another. geez we managed to do it with dean putt a player who actually had more attributes and better tools to work with than browne or graham.

Know what you're saying but we aint winnin the flag this year and he's got a bit more confidence now so throw him in the ruck for a bit and let's see what happens
Jack and Griffo up forward with Griffo giving Ty a chop out.

yeah, makes some sort of sense.

and our boys in yellow and black are renown for their toughness?
Besides Jackson and King who at Richmond is "tough"?

Tough players are not those who go to the tribunal and get suspended every few weeks.
I wouldn't think Jako and Kingy are the only tough nuts.
Tough can be characterised by an act of bravery and heroism and I've still seen plenty this year.
Rance job on Hille in Dreamtime game earlier this year was tough without being brutal.
-
Dusty and Rance are tough.
Vickery has been known to throw a few at training if he's physically challenged. And the SOB can punch very hard. Just ask Gourdis.
