Nathan Foley and our first draft pick
for
Ben McEvoy?
Would you do the deal?
I would.
Would Saints? A mature ruckman is cheap, McIntosh or a VFL ruckman can fit into the Saints plans as they still believe there premiership window is open. Kosi could also take number 1 ruck duties.
Foley has speed something the Saints may look back on the past 5 years and blame for the missed premierships.
Ben McEvoy is effectly a first round draft pick, but 4 years developed, so there is no need getting upset over a 1st round pick being traded, which currently is pick 12.
IMO he will be in the top 3 ruckman of the competetion at his peak.
Fits us perfectly in my opinion.
Win - Win.
I don't think Saints would settle for less.
-
youve lost the plot well and truly lately ;D
-
what a ridiculously stupid proposal, so we put up a decorated player, that has reached heights at the ripe old age of 24 that has had him as a Vic player, AA squads for Ireland and you suggest we package him with a first rounder for some bum that cant string 2 good games together...sure you dont want to throw in conca to sweeten it further :lol
-
Throw in Dean Polo and its a deal
-
worst deal ever!

Haha,
You don't rate McEvoy?
Or you over rate Foley?

You clearly don't watch much football.
McEvoy is a gun. 21 this year just turned 22 2 weeks ago. A ruckman that has shouldered the number 1 duties at St.Kilda all year. Played in a couple of Grand Finals.
Averaging:
15 Disposals
5 marks
23 Hit Outs a game.
Season Highlights
- 23 disps (8 kicks 15 hballs), 11 marks and 25 hitouts in Rd 15 9-pt win over North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium (3 Jul 2011)
- 15 disps (6 kicks 9 hballs), 6 marks, 6 tackles and 37 hitouts in Rd 13 28-pt loss to Geelong at the MCG (18 Jun 2011)
- 17 disps (7 kicks 10 hballs), 6 marks, 5 tackles, 23 hitouts and a goal in Rd 12 24-pt win over the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium (10 Jun 2011)
- 22 disps (8 kicks 14 hballs), 9 marks, 7 tackles and 30 hitouts in Rd 11 57-pt loss to Collingwood at the MCG (4 Jun 2011)
- 15 disps (9 kicks 6 hballs), 7 marks, 5 tackles and 21 hitouts in Rd 7 3-pt loss to Carlton at Etihad Stadium (9 May 2011)
30+ hitouts against Geelong and Collingwood.
Foley is 25 and will be 26 this year in September. Foley was a great player before his injury, he's been just OK this year.
Its a win for us. I'm more concerned with giving up the first round pick than Foley.
If we are fair dinkum we'd go for McEvoy, best young ruckman in the comp. Would take Foley and a 1st rounder for Saints to part with him
-
goldstein is the best young ruckman in the comp
-
then leuenberger
-
nic nat
-
Not keen on giving up our 1st pick but McEvoy look bloody good in a Richmond jumper.
-
zac smith
-
not keen on giving up 1st round draft pick for the 5th best young ruck in the comp
-

Would have to agree, 1 year older than McEvoy however.
But your right.
McEvoy is better than Leunberger and Nic Nat.
-
youve lost the plot well and truly lately ;D
Its been a rough year Ramps lol

yep, you have lost the plot ;D
-
Agree, I'm not keen on giving up a first rounder.
But at this stage its pick 12.
McEvoy for Foley -> straight swap is unlikely. I don't think the Saints will want that. Maybe the compensation pick we got from Tambling could be used to sweeten the straight swap.

Where's Jordan Roughead at? He showed some promise last year but haven't seen to much of him lately?
-
I reckon McEvoy is a really good kid. I rate him the equal to any of the other ruckmen mentioned in this thread but St.Kilda will definitely not get rid of him under any circumstances. He is their ONLY ruckman. Unless you want to count Kosi

you will change your mind once you see him play for Richmond again. ;D You know as well as I do that he's horrible

I'd trade Gus a way without hesitation just not for Kosi
You're right I don't rate Gus and I reckon he has gone backwards this season and I applaud the club for getting tough with him because he was just coasting along
But if I've got chose between Gus & Kosi, I'd go for Gus which says more about Kosi than Gus ...trust me ;D

haha ! hard to believe but it's true. Can't believe Kosi wasn't cut 5 years ago. Terrible player.
-
Kosi wasn't that bad once upon a time. Didnt he kick 45 goals in 08? LMAO
