Only two tigers got into Mike's potential top 50 for 2005
39. Richo
41. Browny
Actually was surprised we had that many :-\. Joel and Johnson didn't make it even though they were the top two in our B&F. Cogs is on Mike's injury and don't know what to do with list.
-
Well, as much as i like Richo, there has been nothing in his form that would rate him above Johnno or Bowden last year, so why he would be picked instead of them i wouldn't have a clue.
But either does Mike, so i'm not even going to bother to ask to see the full list if anyone's got it lol

Barry Hall the 4th best player? lmfao
James Hird only the 6th best player? LMFAO
Nigel Lappin the 7th best? ROFLFMAOO
Scott West not in the top 50 players? ROOOOOOOOOFLMAOOOOOOOO
If he is judging players purely on their last season, then Bowden should be on that list before Richo and Brown.
If its judging players in the background of a flow on from previous years then its understandable that he's not there, but it's incomprehensible that guys like Hird should be outside the top 5 and buckley outside the top 15.
-
I agree regarding Hird, should be atleast number 3 in my opinion.
Also think that Scarlett should be much higher than 13 and possibly at around number 5/6 as he wins many games for the Cats and is one of my favorite players outside of Richmond.

Does anyone really give a toss to what Mike Sheahan thinks?
-
mike sheenan needs a bit of 4by2 wrapped around his noggin.... :banghead
-
22 S. CRAWFORD Hawthorn (8)
That this over rated buffoon is on the list at all considering he didn't play for most of 2004 - shows how out of touch Mike really is. If he can fit in Crawford who was injured then throw in Cogs
I have no problem with him putting Richo - he does every year - makes it easier for Mike to bag blokes when they are in his top 50

Good spot WP.
Just goes to show that having your head in the media spotlight lifts your worth as a player a couple of notches.
Just like to say that leaving Scott West out of the top 50 players is a disgrace and he should be sacked by that fact alone. The worst thing is is that it wasn't even an oversight, Mike purposefully left him out, as he said whether West was in the top 50 was debateable.
What an absolute clown to think that when he gets the most posessions in the league and nearly the most hard ball gets.
-
Mike said on 3aw he left out West because a guy who's won 6 B&Fs at his club should have more impact ??? (can see this turning into another Cambo thread lol). He also questioned West's disposal.
This top 50 is meant to be a shot at what these guys will do this year based on them being fully fit (Where's Cogs then Mike ???).

Another case of a great player being punished for playing in a poor side (just like Cambo :shh ).
It wouldn't matter who played for the Bulldogs over the last 6 or 7 years, they wouldn't have had an impact. The reason for this is that it takes more than one good player or even a handful of good players to make a noticeable difference to a side's performance.
Scott West's disposal by foot might not be great, but his disposal by hand, which consititues the majority of his possessions, is as good as anyone's in the league.
To have guys like Daniel Kerr, Cameron Bruce and Gary Ablett Jr. ahead of him is beyond a joke.

I would suggest that anyone who has won 6 B&F has definitely had an impact.
What kind of logic is that. The reason he isn't rated is because he plays for the Dogs. As much as i hate 'em, sometimes i feel a bit sorry for them the way they're treated sometimes. Scotty West is very much deserving of a top 50 in anyone's list.
Interesting how Fevola has turned it around. I'm still unsure about him - he always plays well in meaningless games. Remember that 2000 Millenium game and he kicked 9 or something and then proceeded to become the biggest dud of all time. His accuracy in front of goal at one stage even made Richo look good. Not sure he warrants a top 50 ahead of West.
-
Fevola's had 60+ goal returns the past 2 years which is a good return but I agree Moi that doesn't make him the 23rd best player in the AFL.
From the top FFs:
Gehrig 103 (23)
Lloyd 96 (24)
Hall 74 (24)
Neitz 69 (21)
Fevola 66 (22)
Richo 65 (18)
Where did Mike pull Barry Hall at 4 from? ??? :lol. Even Richo had the 3rd best average last year ::)
-
LMAO @ James Hird, the overrated wet lettuce of a footballer who goes missing when he gets roughed up and consistently gets rated amongst the best
-
Still take Hird over Buckley any day. Hird can play anywhere and can win a game off his own boot. Never seen Buckley do that. Actually reckon the Pies play better against the top sides without Bucks as they're less predictable.
