Title: Kokoda track & Hawks
Post by: bg25 on April 20, 2005, 01:38:31 PM
Read the article in the Age today and couldn't help feeling rather incensed at the reference to the 'moral victory' that the Hawks had over the Tiges this year.

Hello...the Tiges lead at each change in this match. I haven't yet been to a league game where the result was decided by whichever team had the most number of scoring shots. No one ever says that Richo had a great day if he kicks 2 - 8, in fact they're more likely to have a go at his bad skills.

Bad kicking is bad football....get over it Hawks.

Score was Hawks 12 17 - 89 to Tigers 16 7 - 103. They had 3 rushed behinds we had 0, so realisticaly scoring shots were them 26 us 23. 3 more scoring shots, big deal.
They lost by 14 points not 1.
In the end 4 points to us, 0 to them!

Bulldogs should feel dissapointed, i'd say 50% of their games they have had more scoring shots then the opposition and lost, Dawks have had 1 and the tears start rolling...

Exactly bg. It's a skill like any other and called making the most of your chances.

Richmond 16.7-103 defeated Hawthorn 12.17-89

5. Richmond 3-1
15. Hawthorn 1-3

The scoreboard and ladder don't lie  ::).

Moral victory - give me a break :banghead it means nothing, they lost

Did they ave a moral victory over the Bombers as well even though they lost.

They have WON one game - was that an immoral victory ::) :o or and extra moral victory.

At the end of the season the record books doesn't show:

Wins, Loss, Moral Victories, For, Against, %

Can we get into the real world please ;D
