Title: Get over it
Post by: Hard Roar Tiger on July 15, 2012, 08:26:58 AM
Childish, petulant supporters - all sides have had pathetic losses this year.

We aren't that good yet and were missing:-
Maric, Foley, Martin, Grimes, King, Jackson Sic, Griffiths etc out.
Everyone knows there are major holes in our list - what do the nuffers expect?

We are nowhere near it, just yet.

Get over it.

For me it's not just the loss. It's the problem that never goes away, the elephant in the room and the biggest most important thing that still hasn't been rectified.
.... Culture.
Unfortunately losses like these reminds everyone that we are still mediocre and things are the same as they've always been. And the fear that all this will be another false dawn and we'll soon be rebuilding again.
Before the game i'm sure many of us who've been around along time were alittle nervous about lasts night game. Oh no.. We "should" win this because we are in a fight for finals and they haven't won a game yet.

But our hope was to win well because if the team has changed it should win and win well no matter what the circumstances.
We win ....No excuses!

Reality hurts because we know the truth......
....culture hasn't changed, we are still a loser team with a loser mentality.

Like many here i am gutted by yesterdays result, however for me anyway the  true measure of this team (players.coaches and club) is how they react to this embarassment and how they respond next week against a team that is absolutely flying...that to me will tell the tale of RFC

DimSim needs together into the box with his mate Ratten
These two dogs are two dogs who should not be allowed to be around a bush football team yet they are coaching at the top level

Its hard to get over it.

It was not a once off. Zac smith. Bennell.etc. will be a thorn in our side for a decade. Every side has good young talent; north. Lions etc.

I fear the club has lost the long term picture (elton) if favor of short term (miller. Graham. Mcgaune)

That's fair but my point relates to those who use losses like yesterday as an example as to why we will never be any good or to sack the coach.

Been a supporter and member for a long time, seen it all.
I agree we were no good but have seen worse from the Bombers against the Demons and Roos play terribly.
Look at the Blues right now, fri night was vomitous and this after the coach announced in Pre season "the clubs about expectations and top 4".  :clapping. :-\
Genuinely don't get why paid up members who go every week wait until we lose to post on this forum
or post sarcastic comments if we don't play at a sublime level every week. I actually wonder if that the tigers are just an easy out for these posters
I get the frustration over a bad loss - but it's the way a bad loss is used as a symptom to a bigger more cynical future that gets me all  :huh

Yeah it was culture that dropped that mark, stopped the punch from going out of bounds and made the kick fall into somebodys arms. Culture had nothing to do with what happened in the last min or for that sake the whole game. Fact is we had a terrible game and had too many players that are not up to it on the field for various resons. Many of those players wont be here next year. I hate these losses as much as anybody but see it for what is was, a crap day in the process of becoming a better team. I still see the light, even though yesterday was a dark day.

nah mate,, the reaction once the sting has gone out of the situation doesnt say much about anything. For yrs now, this club does well in dead rubbers and games that dont mean so much, its the big games like yesterday where a win puts us right in amongst it that we fail, they are the games we need to win.

Bookmark this statement if you want - If we win next week and the following week to get right back into calculations I guarantee we will drop the next one as it will mean we are playing for a spot in the 8. I hope Im wrong but i know im not, this club is soft when it comes to big games, that is FACT

Why get over it? Why should I. I'm gutted. Went to a family do today and all I could think about what yesterday that's why. If I celebrate the wins I have just as much right to vent my defeats.

Paid up member coterie club member but that's not all the RFC has asked me but all other 52000 of us to donate to a FTF to make us better whilst that's all fair and good its time to start reaping the on field rewards from our monetary donations. We publically ridicule MP for their rorts why are footy clubs any different don't we vote boards in also?

As you put it HRT we have not been blown away this year (yet) and whilst that is true the gaol is to not just get ourselves competitive to limit the blowouts but to get ourselves competitive and win the games we are supposed and expected to win and win the hard games and win the games where it is perceivable we can't win.

Last night we peed all that up the wall. Enough. Honourable losses come at the Cattery and in Perth against the Eagles and Sydney against the Swans not in Cairns against a team that has lost its last 21 games straight until yesterday.

What showed yesterday other than depth issues in our list but leadership issues.

What we need is a similar scenario to Geelong in 2007 after their Noorth loss in Round 5.

Cotch, Lids, Ivan, Rance Newy sit in the room and give it to the list.

Whoever wants to play can play whoever doesn't can pee off. I'm not going to have prima donnas and over estimated blokes running around waiting for someone else to stand up and if blokes don't like it play for Coburg till their contracts run out and they can only play seniors only when an injury list is so severe that we have no other option than to play them.

Enough of these glass half empties (sorry Claw) running around. So be it.

Problem with RFC is this they have the members and fans donating and don't want to be seen as going overboard on the boys for lack of commitment and desire on game day. Too easy in the public eye on game performances. Dimma now needs to publically talk the talk with some of his lower tier players. Put the blow torch on them like we did with Lids, Cotch etc and these blokes are shining.

Edwards,Rance, Jack, Nahas, Houli,Martin now needs to be respond as they all do take the next step every week instead of drifting in and out of games and being preferably downhill skiers.
Dimma needs to put the pressure on these guys and gage a response only and then only can these blokes get us to be more consistent raise the standard at the club and show the first and second year players the necessary application and desire it takes for success.

Whilst we have developed nicely this year, consistency and winning games we should must come and soon otherwise we laugh at Nought and their draw and etc but they took their 115 point loss beat GC narrowly and have done reasonably well since then we can laugh at their draw at least they beat GC. What have we done? Nothing and whilst they haven't got into the 8 they are travelling like winners right now.

We seem to do well at the start pump ourselves up have our slump and win the meaningless ones at the end when there is no pressure on success just a jockeying of position on the ladder and by then finishing 10th or 13th is just token.

Club needs to take the next step. No point being politically and socailly correct and sacking Connors and suspending Dusty but we need to develop a mentality of success and not just meander and expect the fans to foot the bill. Mismanagement in the 80's brought us Save Our Skins and since then we have had 2 finals apps and once again the fans have foot a 5.5 million dollar bill to help the club again.

The club owes those who have helped. The members . Its not about sacking the coach. I personally think he is doing an okay job with what he has inherited and what he has done so far its about still getting rid of the low performance members of the squad that we are still forced to play due to the developmental stage of our list. Whilst Walla$$ and Miller have alot to answer for the time has come for us to now create a new image and history for the RFC on field and I'm hoping that this loss will stir the on field on this club into action.

If Cotch goes for his slap Graham shouldn't even play for Coburg 2nds for that. Time to find some more leaders and generate some more quality blokes other than Lids, Cotch, Ivan, Rance at the club.

Bring back some mongrel and don't worry what the public think. I don't want Sunday to be a disappointment as it was last year. A win is a must. Not negotiable no questions asked. We fail and the club as a whole has alot to answer for and whilst some may say get over it the truth is the club will deserve any backlash from fans and members with regards to cash and memberships next year. Most fans now that improvement has been steady and bumps in the path are part and parcel of the course undertaken but how you respond to adversity is what makes you great and teaches you the lessons you need to learn. Over to you RFC. Accept a loss is one thing as all will lose at some point even the best but accepting a loss and doing nothing to rectify the situation is another and that's unforgivable. As I said RFC over to you.

All you people have my sediments
A loss like yesterday guts you and all you want to do is talk about the 30 years of humility
People laugh at us and were expected to take it
From responses from various people on this site they're prepared to accept this cancer and I envy their patience
Remember it's not a culture problem it's a management problem
A 30million organization requires proper leaders and managers
You have to bE ruthless in business and only be prepared to accept success not six wins a year with a website filled with propaganda
If your aim is to make the 8 the best you will get is ninth
You aim to be first like  WCE Sydney hawks and every now and then you pinch one

Heartbreaking loss but the main thing I take from it without spitting the dummy too much is that it really highlighted our poor depth in the wake of a raft of injuries and suspensions which have decimated our best 22.

Our best football has been great to watch this year.

Sure w've been beaten by cellar dwellars GC but we've also managed to knock off the team currently on top of the table, Sydney.

Just need to keep injecting talent. It takes time to be a consistent football team people.

Patience still required.

Always going to be on backfoot with that many injuries. We just don't have the depth. We coughed up the lead because our bottom 3 or 4 players are just not good enough
