The Tigers are gearing up for a flag tilt
The emergence of Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and Jack Riewoldt as genuine A-graders in recent years had pundits tipping the Tigers for a long-overdue finals berth in 2013. Clearly, coach Damien Hardwick has sought to hasten the opening of his side's 'window' with the recruitment of several experienced players across the ground. After securing Troy Chaplin, Chris Knights and Aaron Edwards earlier in the off-season, Richmond added Sam Lonergan, Ricky Petterd and Orren Stephenson in Tuesday's rookie draft - bringing the total influx of senior experience to 459 games.
Of those, Chaplin (ex-Port Adelaide) and Knights (Adelaide) should be in the side for round one, while Sam Lonergan (Essendon) and Aaron Edwards (North Melbourne) could well join them. Four-time VFL premiership ruckman Orren Stephenson will be handy back-up for Ivan Maric, while Petterd's selection is a low-risk, high-reward gamble on a talented player who has had more than his share of achilles and shoulder problems. If Richmond can keep their young stars fit and the older recruits slot in seamlessly, expect the Tigers to give a top-four berth a serious shake at some stage next year.

Article is 100% spot on. Anything other than a top 4 finish would be disappointing. A finish outside the 8 would mean changes would have to happen. The Axe would have to fall under those circumstances.

Why stop at top 4?? Anything less than a premiership or the whole club looses there job!! No excuses....

Theyve gone for too many players from other clubs IMHO. They must some semblance of success in 2013 or the Axe has to fall ;D If this administration doesnt make the 8 next season then change has to happen. You cannot and should not accept ongoing failures. Especially when you go out and recruit older blokes from other clubs.

we have gone for depth from other clubs in the ROOKIE DRAFT!! The rookie listed players arn't going to win us a GF 5 yers from now are they :wallywink Clean the sand out of you Vagina and get over it FFS (Cheers Dwaino ;))

Tassie your becoming just another apologist for the club, your upset because everyone knows that the heats on and the club has brought it on themselves. As Blaisee said its Finals or Bust and if we Bust and dont make finals then the Axe has to come down. You cant have a situation where a club fails year after year and nuffin happens. Hopefully we make the 8 and why not the top 4 but if we dont, then sadly the tish will hit the fan.

Dude I agree with you, its finals or bust for me to but gee getting your panties in a knot, calling for a top 4 finish or heads will roll ect all before Xmas is being a little over dramatic don't you think ;D
