"The initial fear of potentially not getting back … that's probably your darkest time." – Nathan Foley, May 2013.
On July 10 last year, Nathan Foley headed to Craigieburn to train with his teammates, unaware he would leave the northern suburbs ground with a career threatening injury.
The Richmond midfielder was warming up with his teammates, going for a jog with his fellow Tigers like he'd done hundreds of times before.
As the small pack of players accelerated, Foley increased his pace too.
But he didn't get far before he heard a loud snap and felt like someone had shot him in the back of his right leg

Starting to gain confidence in his body now and fond some form as a result. Before the last game you could almost see him self assessing his ankle with every run. As a result I feel his form suffered. Last week was the first week since his return where he seemed to be playing unhindered. A fit and in form Foley strengthens our midfield up exponentially. When he sarts to prove a concern for the opposition then all of a sudden we start to stretch their defense and players such as Lids and Cotch get off the leash as they try and plug holes everywhere.
Hope he can stay fit :pray

THis is like an early Christmas having Foley fire up, thought he might of been a shadow of himself but damn they did a good job rolling him back in gradually.
-
The video coming next week has been 12 months in the making, looking forward to seeing it.
-
i can't wait for Beverley Hills Cop 4 personally
-
As long as Eddie Murphy is in it, im with Gerks
-
I'm still pinching myself that got this kid :o

LOL

as we all know I am foleys biggest critic. but if he can make the eagles game his benchmark I will be very happy.. his best game ever when it came to disposal skill and decision making... this is what he must bring week in week out now

Username you have to be kidding if you think that was foleys best game ever with regard disposal and decision making.I wouldn't even rank it in his top 30 games, thats how highly I regard him.
And secondly I thought you were everyone in yellow and black biggest critic, not just nathans.

one yr a toss
and two he has been overrated in all his games based on a few explosive pack breaks And many disposal..
facts are his disposals and decision making have been poor and this is the reason Geelong never picked him up.
even in the falcons days he had a reputation of winning the ball and stuffing up..
fact

LOL dear me ,a debate on matters football begins with you calling me a toss.i would think some serious mirror looking needs to take place..Now go and sit in the corner of the forum and suck your thumb like the cheeky little boy you are

very true G. Sorry X but this is nowhere near his best, that's why everyone is gobsmacked when u lay into him. This was the first time this season he had an impact and will only get better from here - (provided he stays on the park!)
-
As long as Eddie Murphy is in it, im with Gerks
And providing John Landis isnt directing it.
-
gobsmacked.. just cos I call it as it is... Foley has been overrated but if he can make the eagles game bus base then I will be very happy..
many of u tiger fans are like political correct wimps.. to afraid to call it as it is...
Foley has been very overrated and as I said lets hope the eagles game is now his benchmark

Your views are clouded by the fact that the guy has played below par as he has been carrying a lot of injuries. When he has been injury free he has been an absolute line breaker and our best inside extractor. We all know his field kicking can be suspect at times but the other two attributes are so good that you can forgive him for the occasional turn over.
He starred for the Big V and you don't make that side if you are a spud!
His injury last year coincided with our slide down the ladder. If he can maintain his fitness, he will be the catalyst for our rise up the ladder.
The club knows his importance too!

Thus the 3 year contract deal the club has given him..Its a risk given his injuries, but a gold mine if it pays off

good list management would have traded him when he had false currency after he played for the big v
-
That wouldn't have been good list management..it would have been insane list management
