Title: Procedure to Next RFC Premiership
Post by: TigerLand on April 27, 2014, 08:32:22 PM
Retire old players who aren't up to it. Rid the Senior team with failed recycled crap and play the kids with a no fear attitude with no care for the result. Thus not winning many games attitudes getting best possible Draft picks.

Rid the club of failed AFL players get as many Draft picks as possible through trade system. Even upgrade 4th rounders to 3rd rounders by giving Grigg to a Sydney or a Houli back to Essendon etc. Make some big calls on guys like Lids who deserves finals football. Trade to Essendon for Heppell and first rounder. Trade to West Coast for Gaff and first rounder. Try and get a gun kid under 22-23 plus another first round pick. He's worth it. Trade current currency for future currency. Maric has currency. Gold Coast need a monster Ruckman.  Would take a swap for a young kid on their list.

Get as many high picks as possible over the next 2 years. Raid new franchise clubs and bring some homesick kids home.

anyone that thinks that the current group has a hope of competing with GC and GWS over the next 5 years is a fool. Get the jump on the competition and build a super team with an experienced Cotchin at 28-30 years of age leading the way.

Only way we will achieve success.  Club has stuffed the current group with C Graders just to achieve finals as best result. Congrats for that and our situation is what it is but now is time to build for more.

Need to get ruthless. We have currency on our list. Make the most of it off field.

Trading lids is like port trading boak / dogs griffin / saints Hayes

Lids should be untouble

Surely the performances of the team in his absence highlights this

Some maniac like the guy who trespassed during play today maim 42 players on the main list of the other 17 clubs.
Its a longshot but its our best chance.
We may beat Box Hill, Geelong or Collingwood ressies by less than a kick.

Absolutely.

But also highlights at how wrong the list manager has got it. Without lids we are nothing. In 5 years time Lids will be retired.

Is our list good enough to bank on winning a flag in the next 5 years with Lids around? No.

Don't do a Carlton and be stuffed when your gun player is too old and the rest of your team is crap. Lids has high currency but it will be gone in 5 years regardless.  Trade him for youth equivalent and turn that currency into another 200 games.

If we cannot win the flag within 5 years why not close the club ffs

Port went from shyte to good in one preseason

Deledio is far from the issue - he's one of the few bright points in the mess

If I were in charge I would be trying to build around lids vlastuin cotchin instead of trading them out

Procedures are too practical and assume we know what to do.

We dont even have an effing prayer

1. New Richmond coach comes in and declares the list is full of recycled duds, and 4-5 years are needed for a "proper rebuild".
2. After 1 year of necessary pain, fans begin to get ansty and impatient.
3. Club begins to panic and seek quicker success by recruiting a few recycled players to plug holes.
4. Tigers are either on the brink or fall into the lower half of the 8.
5. Convinced they are on the cusp of greatness, club tops up with more recycled players to "take the final step".
6. The list, now top heavy with recycled spuds, begins regressing.
7. Fans feral, club panics, coach sacked.
8. Return to (1).

Wash, rinse, repeat every 4-5 years.

I would only trade Deledio if he himself requested it. If no request comes then he should stay along with Cotchin, Riewoldt, Martin, Vlastuin, Griffiths, Rance, Conca, Ellis, Lennon, McBean etc. The club has to keep a core together just get rid of the hacks and the experienced players who have always let us down.

Next window opening in 2026 after the reign of the G's is over. That is if the club, the competition and the sport itself can survive a decade of darkness and gifted premierships won by soulless, manufactured franchises with no supporters.
