Corey Ellis off early. Injured?
AFL website said Corey went off with a groin injury. So that's one forced change.

McIntosh has to go. You cannot get 4 touches of the footy in 4 quarters playing on a wing and expect to keep your spot. I don't care if he is young or old, skinny or fat, he had a shocker tonight and at very best been ok in a few others since the first game.
Hunt needs to go too. I hope Dea plays well tomorrow and takes his spot.
And lastly Menadue looks scared and there is no excuse for that. You are playing footy mate, you are not going to get hurt. Go back and get some confidence.

Unfortunately been going down hill ever since his amazing debut. He'll find his feet again hopefully but you're right he should do it in the VFL

McKintosh & Menadue are the least of our problems. McDonough, Lennon, Elton & Dea in for Hunt, Morris, Chaplin & Batchelor. Almost tempted to say Hamspud in for Maric as well...almost....McBean in for Maric with Vickery & Griffith taking turns impersonating a ruckman against the Canadian Rugby player and the million dollar dud from Adelaide. Alas, none of these things will happen as Ellis' injury gives Hardwick his excuse to recall "Newy" so who cares....

Seen Mcintosh posted pics of him and his mates having a few cans during the bye week. Then he comes out and has 4 touches :wallywink Who's running the show down there at Punt Road ?
-
Yes I'm sure the beers he had a week ago really caught up with him last night.....

knock, Knock
Who's there?
Newy!
Newy who?
Newy I'd be back hey :shh
-
Outs: Ellis C,
Ins: Newman (don't agree with it but the above injury gives them the "reason" to bring him back)

If you think McIntosh is the least of our worries after only touching it 4 times in an entire game of footy while their wingman had it 31 times then you watch a different game to me. It's actually ok to expect better from our players even if they are young-ish. It's not to say he will never get a game again but as part of his development he needs to know performances like last night are not tolerated and come with consequences.
-
McIntosh couldn't possibly play on what he dished up last night
Might as well played a witches hat instead
-

RUBBISH!!!! I ask you, based on what circumstance do you assume that conclusion.
-
Really need 3 newmans.....

After last night I actually believe we may fare well against the swans coming off the break.
In fact I believe we are due for a win at the SCG, so if the boys work hard and pull their finger out we can take the 4 points.
Later this week I will post we will lose, but take no note of that. I'm using reverse psychology on myself :thumbsup

Couple of times when he got the footy he sh/7 himself and couldn't get rid of it quick enough. One that sticks out to me from where I was siting was in the last quarter he took a mark in the forward pocket, but instead of looking up and try and look for an option, he turned around and handballed to someone behind him deeper in the pocket. All it did is give the Eagles a few extra seconds to man up and fill holes. He just wanted someone else to have the responsibility.
I recon we make way to many allowances for our young guys. These kids are the best in the country and have been groomed for AFL footy for a long time by the time they get to a club. They should have the courage to pick the right option and execute it.

Surely we can't play Reiwoldt, Griff, McBean, Vickery AND Hampspud in the same team. Can't even play Hampspud in the same team IMO

The Barometer - Round 13
Herald-Sun
June 22, 2015
RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Corey Ellis is likely to miss at least the next game and Connor Menadue, who started as the sub again, is due for a full game in the VFL. Kamdyn McIntosh could also feel some selection heat after gathering just four disposals on Friday night.
ON THE CUSP: Chris Newman is ready after a second VFL game and there are selection options for the Tigers’ match committee after a two-point loss to Footscray. Matt McDonough, Matt Dea, Sam Lloyd and Nathan Gordon were all named in the best and mature-age recruit Kane Lambert came on in the second quarter in this comeback game from shoulder surgery and gathered 28 disposals, eight clearances and a goal.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Richmond was down in almost every department against a brilliantly drilled West Coast but somehow remained within striking distance until missing a trio of set shots with about 10 minutes to go. The Tigers need to rebound for a third straight Friday night game against a top-three team, hoping to repeat last year’s upset of Sydney on the road. The Tigers’ travel record is super impressive - winning 11 of their past 15 interstate matches - but on the other side of the coin this game is at the SCG and Buddy will be in the team. Richmond can thank Melbourne and Carlton for staying near the top of the mid-ladder crush.

Hampson has not played for 4 weeks.....pass.

Why do the media make out that Tiger fans would be excited at the news Newman is fit and ready to play?
-
Out: hunt, morris, ellis

Short, you re kidding right
-
Why do the media make out that Tiger fans would be excited at the news Newman is fit and ready to play?
Maybe because we could only assume that it's a farewell game? I would be excited about that.

He's already had his farewell game IMHO
-
All the hype surrounding Lambert and it seems he played a blinder in a half in the vfl, what has to happen for him to get a game? Could he replace Hunt or are body sizes/usage too different??
-
I reckon Dimma likes him. He'll get another crack sooner rather than later. Probably needs a full game in the 2s first though.

At least one spot has opened up for Richmond with Corey Ellis set to miss, and there are options for the match committee, including veteran Chris Newman who was among the best in the VFL at the weekend. Newman has played two games since returning from a groin injury and should be ready for senior action. Others pushing hard are Matt McDonough and Matt Dea, who have enjoyed sustained runs of form at the second level. McDonough had 28 possessions in the VFL, also kicking three goals. Dea has played well for the past two months and deserves an opportunity after taking nine marks across half-back. Sam Lloyd kicked two goals.

I don't really think that he was truly in our best players last week.....
-
All the hype surrounding Lambert and it seems he played a blinder in a half in the vfl, what has to happen for him to get a game? Could he replace Hunt or are body sizes/usage too different??
Would think it might have something to do with the fact it was his first game in 8 weeks, hence why he only played 3 qtrs
Would love to see in before Newman but can't see it happening this week
-
Out: hunt, morris, ellis
in: dea, mcdonough, short
Short, you re kidding right
I'm not kidding, and stop calling me Shirley.
Actually, change Short to Lloyd.

I think Lambert has a massive upside and really has something to play for. I hear his attitude and preparation is second to none
While Newman has been a fantastic servant of the club I can't see any positives moving forward with Chris

Newy :clapping

Tell that to the selectors pls
-
Most likely guessing again but the Footy Show tonight had Newman, Dea, Gordon, McBean, McDonough & Elton added to the squad for this week.
-
Oh dear
From Twitter
@SeanSowerby7: .@Richmond_FC Chris Newman and Kane Lambert have flown to Sydney with the team to take on the Swans .@7NewsMelbourne http://t.co/Gu9OzfBux0
I believe Nath Gordon has also made the trip

Gee, couldn't see that coming....and Wrong Way Gordon too....awesome...
Lynch on League Teams last night - "Great news for Richmond with Newman coming back"...do thes flogs even watch our games?
-
Pumped for Newy :clapping
-
Momentum killer is back, great ::)
-
This is the worst thing Dimma has done if true. Worse than bringing Newy straight in time and time again. This time Newman showed he wasn't even in a calibre higher than the VFL duds who play for use and yet McDonough racks up 30 possies and told that's the standard he needs to maintain to push for selection :banghead :banghead
-
It's these decisions that seperate dimmer and the team from being a contender.
Apparently, according to Damien, Chris will give us the leadership we will need against such an outfit as Sydney.
Would love to see Newmans stats v Sydney for the last couple of years.
For that matter, I'd like to see his stats over the last few weeks.
Pathetic decision.

Needed to influence the result more...you know, just like "Newy" did with that last kick in.......
-
And like that kick is the measure of newys career ::) we had to get experience into the team as an imperative
-
to quote sam newman, "You idiot"
-
And like that kick is the measure of newys career ::) we had to get experience into the team as an imperative
Are you just trolling again bo or do you genuinely have n.f.i. ?
-
Wow
-
And like that kick is the measure of newys career ::) we had to get experience into the team as an imperative
But he has done SFA for over 2 years!!!! How does experience help when you have no form whatsoever and do not deserve a spot back in the team?
-
What's he experienced at anyway? Losing & being soft, selfish, slow & unaccountable? How many times has his "experience" actually helped get us over the line? It sure helped Footscray get over the line last week.
-
And like that kick is the measure of newys career ::) we had to get experience into the team as an imperative
No but is a measure how he is currently playing the game. It isn't strong, it isn't team orientated.
What he dished up in the last 90 odd seconds in the VFL last week was simply selfish
That ain't the leadership we need
-
And like that kick is the measure of newys career ::) we had to get experience into the team as an imperative
No but is a measure how he is currently playing the game. It isn't strong, it isn't team orientated.
So basically it is actually a measure of his career.....
-
most of it anyway
-
Hardwick, you're a stuffing moron.
-
Newman=Glueman=No clue man=We are all really blue, man
-
We are zero chance vs the Swans. ZERO chance
This is even better phil...
Perhaps you should have said -5...MINUS 5... :rollin :lol
