dimma can talk about how he cant satisfy his wife at a press conference but we cant discuss how it may affect his selections here?
-
Gordon and Newman stuff me dead.
-

-
Ummm...what's with the censorship?
Before I was about to add to the thread there was a mass edit :huh
Are we or aren't we allowed to discuss it?

Their record says otherwise, but the swans are an ordinary team on paper.
Rampe, Richards, Laidler, Jetta, Grundy, Shaw, Rohan, Tippett, Reid aren't good players
-
Derickx to have a blinder and score the winning goal in the dying minutes of the game ;)
-

Rejoice a bit buddy. Agree about Newman, should have been McDonough, also not sold on Gordon but I like seeing Lambert back.
-
Just so disappointing on so many levels
That's all.
-
Maybe this is Newmans ....uh hum......swan song..... :snidegrin
-
Swans will have a field day
-
very poor selections.
-
Gordon, Newman over Morris ?????? Over Mcdonough ? Against a tough Sydney team we aren't playing Morris ? Seriously ? Old slow soft Newman instead ? Seriously ? I am seriously baffled. If we win its an absolute miracle.
-
It's hardly a surprise Newman is back.
Doesn't make it right but no surprises there
-
Back to playing favourites.
Pathetic.
We play kids like menadue and Ellis and we get some wins. Instead of donuts and Lennon we go back to old timers and back to losing.

This.
The loss last week, and the especially the way we lost with the lack of leaders standing up, was always going the see the team selectors, who love Newy anyway, put him straight back into the side.
Even ignoring Newy's selection, the other ins are surprising. Lambert was great last week in the VFL but it's a big ask to step up from just 3/4ers in the ressies after returning from injury to playing the Swans on their home deck. I can only guess Lambo will be the sub or we think the smaller SCG will enable him to play out a full AFL game. Gordon, on the hand, was ordinary in the ressies last week. Clearly, only picked because he's playing against his old side. As someone else said, it surely must be his last chance. McDonough is the one who is stiff but I'm not surprised he wasn't selected just from what Clarke said in his summary of the VFL game. When you read 'a return to form after a few quiet weeks for young player X' then you know they won't be picked, no matter how much they starred. It's not right but some guys walk straight back in based on past reputation while others need to play well for 6 weeks straight before even getting a look in.
As for Morris being omitted, I just don't get it. Not because he was poor last week but because he kept his place in the first 6 weeks despite being equally ordinary. Morris' best game for the year for mine was against Freo just from a pressure and intensity point of view. Not sure why one bad game last week when most Tigers had shockers now makes a difference to the first six rounds. Compare that to Macca who also had a terrible game last week with just 4 possies. Not saying he should've been dropped either but the lack of consistency in our team selections from player to player makes you scratch your head sometimes :huh3. The only thing I can think of is Dimma has specific match-ups in mind. We'll find out tomorrow night if they work or not.
-
Why not move Morris to the back line if he isn't performing? He's performed there to a good standard IMO. I could maybe understand dropping him and playing him forward in the ressies to get a bit of confidence and learning his craft at an easier level (whether I believe he should be played forward or not). But to drop him and do nothing just seems odd

He can't kick
-
If they're going to leave Hunt in the side - give him the Morris' role, pretty much the same crappy skill level and deficiencies but faster,a better tackler and keeps his feet (well compared to Morris he does anyway)..also kicked 4 goals in a match for Geelong once - something we'll never see Morris do....playing him up forward will also minimise the impact of his inevitable turnovers....it mean it's dumb logic but probably not as dumb as whatever logic saw Morris moved up there in the first place....
-
I'm expecting Maric to have a big game considering he got his pants pulled down last week and he's u against Dud Derrickx this week. :cheers
-
This makes the decision to add Morris to the leadership group even more ridiculous .
-
Why?
-
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at selection.
-
very poor selections.
x2

No late changes according to SEN.
