Hey Flea,

No related footy/supporter group email.

I try not to ask many people for help, but I’ve got a huge favour to ask of you and my old fellow supporter group comrades.

On the 22nd of Nov I had a phone call from a police officer in Launceston notifying me that my younger brother was being transferred to Hobart Hospital by air after an serious assault left him with brain injuries, this was also mums birthday.
Fast forward to today and he still has not woken up properly and mum has spent the last two weeks in Hobart by his side, he was put in an induced coma and although he is not in it anymore we still don’t know the extent of his brain injuries at the moment.

I’m trying to raise funds to help him with his flights back to Victoria, rehabilitation etc. It’s going to be a long journey for him, and as you know mum isn’t working at the moment so anything helps.

I’ve started a go fund me page, the link is https://www.gofundme.com/christianswfund (https://www.gofundme.com/christianswfund) If you could share it to the other guys that would be great.

I don’t have access to the Geelong Tigers page and email addresses.

Thanks xx

Tamara

Fair point Andy. No disrespect to this family nor any others whose lives are altered through an act of aggression of someone else. It's tough to handle.
But there are too many of these gofundme type campaigns for services that are already provided as a social service by the taxpayer.

I just like a bit of transparency. I work in a large public hospital and all of the necessary flights, intra- or interstate are funded by us. And all of the necessary rehabilitation is also, either in fast or slow stream, or in the patient's own home.

I'm all for pitching in but asking for money bothers me sometimes so I prefer to just give blood instead which I recommend we all do if possible

Family friends we know held a fundraiser for a guy who unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer.

The kicker was, this guy has a string of investment properties and is quite well off, which was known to the invitees. Bar one or two, the invitees were much less well off, had a mortgage to pay, worked regular jobs.

Invitees wished him well but didn't attend.
