Trent Cotchin to miss second week with Richmond not willing to take any risks

RICHMOND will be without skipper Trent Cotchin for a second week with the captain still yet to get the tick from surgeons on his broken cheekbone.
Cotchin sustained the injury in Round 6 against Port Adelaide and missed last week’s loss to Hawthorn.
While it was hoped he would be back for Saturday night’s clash with Sydney, coach Damien Hardwick says at least another week on the sidelines is required.
“He hasn’t got the tick off from the surgeon as of yet so he’s got another week on the sidelines,” he said.
“It was one of those ones we were hoping he would be able to play but the healing process does take a little bit of time.
“Just to be more safe than sorry we’re going to give him that extra week to recover.
“We were a bit reluctant to put him out there when it’s not healed to the level that we’d like.”
Hardwick said Cotchin had put his hand up to play but doctors orders prevail.

"We've got to be confident that when he's out there he can perform his duties as good as he can," Hardwick said.
"The player will always put their hand up to play, they're courageous, especially Trent.
"But we need the surgeon's tick off and we haven't got that as of yet."
