Cotchin: Bring on Roos rematch
Herald-Sun
30 May 2016
RICHMOND captain Trent Cotchin says he cannot wait for Friday’s mid-season assessment of his side’s resurgence against 2015 finals conqueror North Melbourne.
The Tigers have strung together three consecutive wins but must topple their hoodoo side at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena on Friday night.
Richmond was annihilated in the contest by the Roos in last year’s elimination final, who are on a seven-match win streak in Hobart.
North Melbourne’s only loss in its past seven games against the Tigers was when it controversially rested nine players in Round 23 last season, forcing the AFL to change its schedule this year.
Cotchin’s finals nemesis Ben Jacobs is out injured but the Tiger says the challenge has arrived at the perfect time for Richmond.
“Every game is significant given our position in the season, but the reality is we are looking forward to an opportunity against an opposition we have had a great rivalry with,’’ he said.
“They have got the wood over us and we are looking forward to playing strong-bodied Richmond footy and taking it right up to them in Tassie.
“It is the perfect opportunity for us as a group. We have had a couple of solid wins but the challenge for us is to prepare as well as we can for North, who have been the team to beat, this Friday night.”
The Tigers’ wins over Sydney, Fremantle and Essendon have them with brimming confidence levels, with the injury list now containing only Bachar Houli (wrist), Kamdyn McIntosh (ankle) and Chris Yarran (mental health).
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick admitted over the summer he was still haunted by the contested possession count (-33) in the finals loss to the Roos.
But with Dustin Martin now turning into a raging bull of an inside midfielder the Tigers midfield has a better chance against the Roos.
If Richmond can upset the Roos they take on Gold Coast (MCG) and then after they bye should beat Brisbane (MCG) to hit 7-7.
Cotchin said his surgeon wanted him to wear his padded helmet for one more week after his recent cracked cheekbone.

Strong bodied Richmond Footy? :lol
We were out bodied and out tackled by the much vaunted Bomber's second stringers on Saturday night :wallywink
-
:lol gotta admit that caught my eye too
"strong-bodied richmond footy" lmao
-
Funny thing is we can beat them. We have just about always had the team to beat them including last year. But the psychological barrier between them and us is significant. We can't get past the bogey effect. We are their bunnies, Harvey is our nemesis, Waite has the wood on our backs and so does Petrie.
If we can get past all of that, pen it in for a win.. :snidegrin

7-6, not 7-7
Eat another crayon Ralphy

good pickup damo
-
I reckon we win ...
More so if Chaplin injury.
-
would rather rance, astbury and chaplin against nought rather than batchelor playing on waite or drew again
-
This will be a reality check. We are coming off beating 2 of the bottom few teams by 6 or 7 goals. If we played any team other than the druggies last week we would have got done by 6+ goals.

We did beat Sydney the week earlier though who IM(early)O are the team to beat this year. Still don't think we'll win it

Match preview: North Melbourne v Richmond
AFL.com.au
May 31, 2016
SUMMARY
Friday night footy heads to Tasmania for the first time and locals should be treated to a fascinating contest between last year's elimination final combatants. After a nightmare start, Richmond has salvaged its season from the brink of disaster courtesy of three straight wins and – with Gold Coast and the Brisbane Lions to come either side of the bye – the finals flame will flicker a little brighter if the Tigers can upset the Roos at their Hobart fortress. North Melbourne suffered its first loss for the season in a slog against the Sydney Swans at the SCG in round 10, in the first match of a tough six-game test of its premiership credentials. Brad Scott's men will be desperate not to cough up their hard-earned lead on top of the ladder by dropping two in a row.
WHERE AND WHEN: Blundstone Arena, Friday, June 3, 7.50pm AEST
LAST FIVE TIMES
1EF, 2015, North Melbourne 15.15 (105) d Richmond 14.4 (88) at the MCG
R23, 2015, Richmond 16.12 (108) d North Melbourne 10.7 (67) at Etihad Stadium
R6, 2015, North Melbourne 16.13 (109) d Richmond 10.14 (74) at Blundstone Arena
R12, 2014, North Melbourne 17.14 (116) d Richmond 13.10 (88) at Etihad Stadium
R15, 2013, North Melbourne 19.14 (128) d Richmond 8.18 (66) at Etihad Stadium
THE SIX POINTS
1. In-form Tigers ruckman Shaun Hampson (averaging 29 hit-outs) will have a crucial role restricting Todd Goldstein, who is ranked second for total hit-outs (378 in 10 games). The Kangaroos are the League's best centre clearance team, averaging 14.9.
2. North Melbourne has dominated Richmond recently, winning seven of the last nine contests, including five in a row from 2011-15.
3. The Tigers are facing a tough task at Blundstone Arena, where the Roos have won eight of their last 10 matches, including their last seven in a row.
4. Neither side peppers their attack with inside 50s. The Kangaroos are ranked 10th at 52.7 per game, while Richmond is equal 14th averaging 47.2.
5. The Tigers are excellent at finding targets inside 50. Richmond is ranked fourth (13.5) for marks inside 50 and, although they're ranked 10th, the Roos aren't far behind, taking 12.1 marks on average.
6. North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey is still among the very best in the Schick Official AFL Player Ratings, but he's taken a tumble from 11th in the competition after round four to 24th overall – his lowest-ever ranking.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR … Jack Riewoldt. The talismanic forward returned to his hometown last year and booted three goals in Richmond's round six loss to the Kangaroos, but a Friday night clash with the Tigers fighting to stay in the finals race is the type of stage Riewoldt will want to stamp himself.
PREDICTION: North Melbourne by 16 points

Stage set for belting clash
Mercury
June 1, 2016
THE stars are aligning on Friday night for one of the most exciting and significant events in Hobart’s sporting history.
North Melbourne, at its home away from home at Blundstone Arena, takes on Richmond in one of the biggest, most anticipated clashes of the AFL season.
Preliminary finalists for the past two seasons, the Kangaroos’ premiership window is wide open. The playing list is in its prime. If anything, it is a little on the “old” side when 38-year-old, 400-game veteran Brent Boomer Harvey is factored into the equation.
Key players such as Nick Dal Santo, 32, Drew Petrie, 33, Jarrad Waite, 33, and Daniel Wells, 31, are all in the twilight of their AFL careers. Anything less than a Grand Final appearance this season would be rated by many commentators as a failure for the Kangas. Expectations are high, and so far the Roos have delivered.
In the other corner is Richmond; the perennial AFL also-rans. The Tigers have for the past few seasons promised the world only to let their fans down at critical hurdles when the most is at stake.
There is no denying the talent on the Tigers’ list, with the likes of Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Brett Deledio and Alex Rance all AFL stars in their own right.
So impressed by the list, some commentators had Richmond breaking into the top four and challenging for a flag this season. However, frustratingly as usual, the Tiges crumbled under the pressure of those expectations and started the season appallingly.
In recent weeks the Tigers of old have resurfaced and again their fans are looking at finals.
Friday night is crucial for both clubs.
If the Tigers manage to get over the top of North, there will be no stopping them as a contender for the finals. If North triumphs, its credentials will further strengthen as a potential flag threat.
Both teams need to prove they are the real deal.
The weather for Hobart is forecast to be sunny and dry, but hamstring-snappingly cold.
When these two sides hit their straps, they are two of the most ferocious contested-ball teams in the competition. When they bring their A-grade game, they are two of the most skilful in the league.
All these questions, excitingly for Tasmanian AFL fans, will be answered at Blundstone Arena in the historic first big league game under the lights at the relatively new, boutique venue.
The weather for Hobart is forecast to be sunny and dry, but hamstring-snappingly cold.
The game at Blundstone last year between the Tigers and Kangas drew a record crowd of 17,554.
Expectations are high that this week that record will fall, and so it should. There is good reason for Tassie footy fans to be out in force for their first taste of Friday night AFL footy.
Bring it on.

Oh no....now the game is earmarked for a spanking, one way game, all over by the 15 minute mark of the first and we will be the spankee.. :help
-
Now we will see the Richmond that will take the field without all the injuries it carried last final against the Roo's. This will be a cracking game & there is no reason at all that the 22 players that take the field will be fully fit & ready to pay out on the Roos. l suspect a Rumble in the Jungle with a touch of BIFF BUMPS & BRAWLS.
No Excuse Tigerland. Get the job done for the supporters & to get this bogey team off our backs & the club...................
:gotigers

It's rubbish Richmond has to play NORTH MELBOURNE in Tasmanian so they can stay alive
I'm unsure how this game works commercially for them.
There would be 70k if it were played at the 'G (57k went to Dreamtime)
You'd have 40-50k of those as paying Richmond or neutrals with the reminder Roos members or MCC.
Compare that to 17k in Hobart where they still have to give their members a home game in Melbourne.
Ridiculous commercial decision by Norf and the AFL.

Garnering support for their future relocation after the premiership tilt failure and the retirment of anyone they've got that's decent.

Commercially it works easily they are getting paid a 7 figure sum to play 3 games down there a year.
They need crwods of 35k plus to break even at Etihad. So.....they easily make more down there
And bents how is it rubbish that the tigers play down there. RFC are more than happy to go down there as the away team. Remember the club looked at playing a home down there until N0rt agreed to play 3 a year down there

Tigers need team effort to crack Roos
Herald-Sun
2nd June 2016
RICHMOND star Jack Riewoldt claims the Tigers will need to come up with a variety of options up forward if they are to break North Melbourne’s stacked defence on Friday night.
Coming off their first loss of the AFL season, the ladder-leading Kangaroos take on the resurgent Tigers, who head into the showdown at Bellerive Oval on the back of three straight wins.
“They play a very strong brand of defensive football ... we just need to continually have good movement from our forwards and our mids and try and find as many avenues to goal as possible,” Riewoldt said.

Port thought it was rubbish that they play RICHMOND interstate just so they could build a war chest to poach their gun defender, Troy Chaplin.

This is the litmus test for us, has been our downfall the last 3 years imo.
We just cant lift for this scum club we know it they now it and poo trucks like peetree lift accordingly.
It is just our pussy psych and non belief when it comes to the big ones where we fold away.
If we can get over this mental hurdle, might be just the boster not just for this year but the team as a whole.
I know they can do it, do they? really?

I just hope Hardwick doesn't try to play against the Kanga's like he has done for the last 5 years.
They play lose men in our forwardline and when they win the footy, which they will, they out run us going forward and get easy goals.
I recon if the play a 7 man backline, we should man them up. But spread out. Isolate their backman. Also have a guy deep, Jack or Griffiths.
And I would go smaller in there, Vickery and Griffiths are just too slow on their rebound.
Probably should have dropped Vickery this week and played another forward/runner.
I'd also play 3 of Lids, Cotch, Dusty, Vlastuin and Miles in the centre at all times, along with Hampson. Win the clearance and you'll win game.
But most important we need to RUN!

NORTH Melbourne has been dealt a massive blow ahead of Friday night's clash against Richmond with star ruckman Todd Goldstein ruled out.
Goldstein hurt his knee in last week's loss to the Sydney Swans and barely trained all week.
Final teams and benches for Friday night
He flew to Tasmania with the rest of the team on Thursday, but was withdrawn ahead of the clash in Hobart.
Majak Daw has come in as his replacement.
The Tigers made no changes to their selected side.

I hope you're right, Jackstar, but we always have a habit of dishing out our soft sub-standard worst against North :banghead. They push numbers back to clog our forward line and then sucker-punch us on the rebound and counter attack :banghead. I'm glad Rioli is playing just to have someone quick in the forward line at ground level.
Also, play like we did last week, especially getting flogged in the clearances, and we'll get smashed :help.
-
Batchelor..... :lol
Chaplin in, Grimes out.
-
Grimes out in the warm up :help. Chaplin in.
And that's the usual lack of accountability and soft clearance we give up against North :banghead.
-
Unreal, FFS, where are Richmond. Why do they have 6 players at the ball to our one???
-
Can somebody tell Richmond th game has already started.
-
Have we had a clean touch yet?

Our goalkicking is pathetic. It's been an issue all year. Missing what should be gimme set-shots at AFL level.
-
Bloody hell we are not there tonight.
-
Can we get any softer?
C Ellis. I think we may have ruined him already. Soft as a marshmallow. That tackling attemp is much worse than his missed goal. Bloody unacceptable.
-
Morris knee or ankle, bugger, thats terrible.
-
Ellis misses from 15 slight angle, ball goes up the other end and Ellis chasing Harvey's shadow who shows him how it's done
-
Two gimme misses. Should be two goals all but our crap goalkicking has us now down 3 goals :banghead.
Thanks ump for not stopping the game when Morris was down. Gifted North a goal ::).

Bogey side this.
-
Wow that was too easy three kicks through the corridor with the recipient in about 20 metres space each time!!!! Massive breakdown in structure
-
Watch the bloody hips! Petrie is hardly Cyril :banghead. Another soft goal to North :banghead.
-
That was pathetic by Deledio
And Astbury? Looks lost
-
Hampso n getting plenty of hit outs
Straight to N0rt :banghead
-
GOALS win games, can someone get that message to the players.
Oh its ok, North has that message... :banghead :banghead
-
Why is Lambert playing as a small forward? He's hardly quick to be a ground level forward.
ANother gettable shot missed. That's 3 and counting. And that's 3 and counting goals to North after we miss at the other end :banghead.
Soft as jelly we are :banghead.

And people say a coach won't make a difference.
The right coach makes a lot of difference. We have a delusional moron that wouldn't have a clue. He's a bloody embarrassment to this club more so than Wallace and Frawley put together.
-
C Ellis, the elite kick.....WTF

Way thigns are going this will be over by qtr time

It's how we always play against North. Making every mistake in the book.
-
What a jok. We have learnt NOTHING
-
Yep.
Hilarious.
-
You idiot umpire! Jack had disposed of the ball legally and was held without the ball yet the ump pays holding the ball ::)
-
Petrie beating us again... :lol
-
Great coaching, north has 50 players on the ground?
Dont think its Hardwick's fault that our vice captain let Petrie waltz around him or that few others are playing they can't be stuffed
Or Hampson cant take a mark to save himself

Great coaching, north has 50 players on the ground?
Dont think its Hardwick's fault that our vice captain let Petrie waltz around him or that few others are playing they can't be stuffed
Or Hampson cant take a mark tosaove himself
True but it's his fault that our structures are getting picked apart. They outnumber us in our fed line which means we have more numbers an the ground and yet they are slicing through us like we're not there
-
Did not turn up
Yeah they have for....
Sight seeing i am guessing or a visit to the Cadbury factory
-
Benny, when you can kick a ball 60m and you don't chip it to a 2-on-1 in the pocket.
-
That's 5 misses.
11 - 34

Fair call
But the loss of Grimes is massive I reckon and dare i say it so is the loss of Morris now as well
Structures shot with that
Not an excuse a fact
-
Our dumbess on display with the North clearance out of our forward line. 5 Tigers on 50 all flat footed allowing a North player to run past.
Pathetic!
1/4 time.
Richmond 1.5-11
North Melb. 5.4-34
Goal: Riewoldt

:scream :scream :scream :scream What the hell was that :banghead
-
Astbury just get rid of him after tonights game

Morris - knee.
Dimma - going off his nut in the huddle.
-
Fair call? We're a stuffing rabble irrespective of those peripheral losses
Not sayong we arent palying CRAP
But losing Grimes and then Morris has stuffed us big time. Means Vlastuin who warmed up with the mids has gone back to defence on Thomas becauae there is no one else
Doesn't excuse the pathetic lack of effort
-
Very soft Batchelor :help
-
Whay wasnt that a free to Griffiths? Jumper being held :banghead
-
Waite finished lol
-
Astbury just get rid of him after tonights game
Yep embarrassing tonight
But not a surprise
-
Hampson's spudness making Daw look good.
Rance has concussed Waite with the ball.
Jack that's two poor kicks straight to North defenders.

Well I know Drimes value but geez if we can't cover those blokes.....
-
l will tell you all what is wrong with the Tigers
They are not ruthless enough. Most of them are too scared to hit & hurt their opponent & that is the problem
THEY ARE pee WEAK
-
Textbook k North
-
The entire team is an embarrassment, they are all shocking, no point singling players out tonight...
-
Hampson looking like the Hampson we all know
Pathetic again Tigers. So bloody soft and dumb footy
-
Trouble is even we get it together it will be catch up footy all night.
-
When our "stars" are kicking it straight to North defenders you know we're in trouble.
Daw owning Hampson once again :facepalm.
-
Notice how they all look backwards instead of pushing the ball forward
-
Another miss (Lambert snap).
12 - 40
-
The entire team is an embarrassment, they are all shocking, no point singling players out tonight...
Nope right now leaders to stand up and the only leaders standing up are Cotchin, Jack and Rance
Deledio might as well go to the rooms and sit with Morris. Hes been disgraceful
-
Finally, Hampson gets a tap to a teammate. Nice grab by Lloyd. Goal. Hooray!
Rich 18
North 40

Get them fired up Lloyd :clapping

So is Batchelor doing his job again..
-
Joke
-
Whats the point.
-
So is Batchelor doing his job again..
Do tell whats his job? Tell us whos he playing on?
And doesnt your comment about not singling out players apply in this case
-
So is Batchelor doing his job again..
Going to single 1 player out where is Astbury. Bellis. Cellis they are all a disgrace
-
Going to ground so easily in the contest. Another cardinal sin and another easy North goal :banghead
While miss another gimme :scream.
19 - 46
-
So is Batchelor doing his job again..
You're an animal
-
Surely Ty should of got a free :banghead
-
Vickery should have had that free....then Edwards shanks one to Martin...FFS RABBLE

That was holding the ball shocking umpire
-
Comedy hour in our forward line :facepalm.
Thompson tackled but not holding the ball ::)
Cunnington ducks and gets a free ::)

Cotch has been near our best but that's a terrible kick Trent :P. Sums up our night.
-
:santa saved & no pressure :bow
-
LOL Thomas :lol.
-
How many time can North scrag our jumpers and not have a free paid? ::)
-
Rioli should have kept going
-
I am just stupefied at how many players they continually have in space inside 50 considering they outnumber us in our fed line by a couple.
It's called work rate
Wankers
-
I was going to go to the circus but this games better.
-
Missing targets ridiculously
-
People bag Cotch but he was the only mid chasing and running back trying to man up and put pressure on the North players running forward.
-
Its a story when our FF Riewoldt is punching the ball through. That is Astbury job.
-
Good god, Hunt is on Brown :gobdrop
-
North Melbourne umpires the same as last seasons Home & Away games
-
So you can go and put your arms around a player after a mark now umpire? ::)
Yeah right umpire. He had no intention of wanting the ball go over the boundary line ::).
-
Geez we are just so dumb, we dont know how to milk a free

Hardwick getting stuck into Bellis ;D Here comes the VFL Brandon
-
There was effort but our spudness was still able to overcome it.
Half-time
Richmond 1.5 3.8-26
North Melb. 5.4 7.9-51
Goals: Riewoldt, Deledio, Lloyd.
The Kangaroos have scored 5.7.37 from 39 Richmond turnovers at the half. Conversely, the Tigers have kicked just 1.4.10 from 27 North Melbourne turnovers.
Both of North Melbourne's goals this quarter have been launched from its defensive 50. For the match, the Kangaroos have kicked 4.3.27 from defensive 50 score launches, already its third best return for the season from this score source.
After being well beaten in contested ball in the opening term, Richmond have responded in this area in the second term, leading 25 to 21. Anthony Miles and Dustin Martin have four contested possessions apiece in the quarter.
Four of Richmond's eight kicks inside 50 in the first 12 mins of the 2nd quarter have resulted in uncontested marks to North Melbourne.

-
A lot of passengers playing for Richmond tonight. Scared little whimps!
Some coaches make players better. Some coaches make players soft.
We continue to ruin careers.
Standards are far too low at this club and the coaches are to blame for not atleast demanding that we smash these pretenders at every opportunity.
Instead we see the softest display we've ever seen. :banghead
How is this acceptable?

Ticky touchwood soft free to Dal Santo to gift North a goal to start the quarter ::).
We then gift North another goal by 6 Tigers allowing the ball over the back :banghead.

Vlastuin now injured and sitting on the bench according to Richo.

& that lads is one of the biggest mistakes in football. No-one standing goal side of defence. Just let them run into a open goal & that is the game sealed.
As Rex says Its all over. Time to go bet on the greyhounds :banghead

LMAO.
What a pack of dreamers they are.
Couple of meaningless wins over poo teams and they escape the scrutiny they deserve.
Geez, they look every bit an insipid side as I've ever dared to imagine.
Soft, girly pretenders.

I know they can do it, do they? really?
So do we get it yet ?
Can someone decode this for me?

Mentally weak

Just so dumb, really dumb

Griffiths now injured. Rolled ankle.

Think it's more than a rolled ankle

The more injuries the time to play Elton, McBean, May as well play Yarran & get some worth out of him.
-
Think it's more than a rolled ankle
Yes l reckon fracture there. We now have no bench

Cmon Dumma. Ask the AFL to cancel the game. The poor babies are too cold and I think Griffiths has hurt his pinky toe & must get stretchered off.
Time to call all the players in. :clapping :rollin :clapping

Watch Freo tank against the Bombers :snidegrin
Smart club. Realised their 2012-15 group's time had passed and now in rebuild mode chasing the No.1 pick. Ross Lyon has not being subtle about it either. Meanwhile, we've been still talking finals. Will tonight finally be the reality check needed to get those on the inside of the Club to realise a cleanout of the list and a full review of the footy dept. is required.
-
They still not smashing us on the scoreboard like they should be considering we have no interchange at all
We have one left on the bench
3 out of the game, Morris, Vlastuin and Griffiths
Though they way some of them have played we are actuallu down another 10
-
Lids off (blanket over his legs). We're down to no rotations.
This will blow out to 100 or more pts unless North go to sleep.

Free against Lloyd but what about holding the ball prior to that

Predictable football when your club is known to go sideways that is the way they will catch you out.
That was pathetic :banghead

Meanwhile Astbury still nowhere to be seen. Bachlor is also lost. Hunt has had a real go tonight. Bellis & Cellis are MIA Deledio has lost the plot & they go across the ground still and now Vickery is injured
-
Hampson :rollin. Mis-judged that by about 10m :lol.

Hunt has had a real go tonight.
Yeah he's actually been clean with the footy tonight. An indictment on most of the rest of the side.

And lack of chase on Wells who just kicked a very soft goal

Sums it up 2 v 2
North player takes mark the 2 Tigers want to both man the mark while the other north player moves away & receives the ball to setup down the ground goal.

Rance has the backwards disease. l'm so sick of seeing that sort of football
Just saving time as those up the field will turn it over anyway via some U10 standard stupidity and the ball will comeback as soon as it leaves.

Hardwick's presser should be hilarious
Would love it if he was actually honest and poured some acid om his insipid players
Rather the stock standard nonsense of we didnt play the Richmond way, I have great faith on this group crap.

Stick standard from bellis expect no different from the coaches - they won't drop him.
You'd think now is a great opp to put the cue in the rack and play the kids for the rest of the year but I bet you they won't, they'll still be talking finals.
We are such an embarrassing club.
When nort spoke about their slow starts during the pre season thy backed it up, we just did exactly the same thing as per usual - spudded it up!!
A few posters have mentioned it about us being dumb, we say it every week, but we continue to do the same things week in week out, our players are stationary, we ball watch... sick of seeing 2 of our players running second to the ball and the second nort player stays out and receives the easy one over the top and away they go, happens every damn week, every single week!!!! Do they review this poo? Bc I have to question why the same mistakes happen every week
-
I hope Dimma doesnt use the injuries as an excuse because the Roos could have taken 4 of their guys out of the game and we still would have been towelled up.
What really stood out for me tonight is how many passengers we have and real lack of effort and how dumb we are as a side, some of the situations were laughable.
What it does highlight is that we are a long way off the pace and now with the injuries we have to give some others an opportunity.
-
Mercy siren.
Richmond 1.5 3.8 4.10 7.12-54
North Melb. 5.4 7.9 13.13 18.16-124
Goals: Riewoldt 2, Vickery 2, Lloyd, Miles, Deledio.
North had 31 more inside 50s (41-72)
... and they had 33 more tackles (57 - 90) despite having far more of the ball.
-
I will tell you why we lost.
North had an electric blanket on their bench we didn't. Simple. :rollin
-
But tackles don't matter bc we corale :lol
Wow they are some embarrassing stats

Exactly. Rance is entitled to have a breather!
-
Heads must stuffing roll starting with getting rid of our sheltered workshop for useless tall players, it is like watching a pack of giraffes with CP and absolutely no kinesthetic ability or coordination performing random seizures while professionals run stuffing rings around them.
-
We are so set up to play dry weather, outside, soft footy. And tonight was the perfect example.
As soon as it's a bit wet, windy or cold we look disinterested.
We have 2 KPF that are 200cm and useless when the ball hits the ground.
We have guys like BEllis and Grigg that are scared pooless of getting hurt.
We have a guy like Lids that goes missing when the game is in the balance.
And we have guys like Hunt, Chaplin, Astbury, Hampson and Batchelor that just aren't AFL level anymore.
Time to put a broom through the joint, surely everyone has seen enough.

We have had a couple of solid wins but the challenge for us is to prepare as well as we can for North, who have been the team to beat, this Friday night.”

so what happened?
-
One very peeed off coach who said it as it was. He said he will make changes & that is not just injuries.
BRANDON ELLIS off with his head.
-
L,so.
What an hole he is.
Make changes and not thru injury?
LMAO again.
It's logistically impossible.....because of all the D E P T H !
-
Said he couldnt pick the same side next week based on the performances tonight, let me guess, Lambert, Hunt plus the injured players. Guarantee that BEllis and Vickery wont be among them although Ty may be saved by Griffs injury. The biggest problem we have is that if you dropped who should be dropped then we would have trouble physically fielding a side next week, sad but true.
-
Grigg is mediocre.
Worse 4o possession game ever
-
@ mt highlighting bellis stats :lol
-
Bump
Tiges by plenty tonight
Goldstein out
Load up !!!

Mate be honest with yourself, if you keep banging on about others having no idea week after week and you get something so wrong like this, then what do you expect?
And yes i should be at the game but to be honest id rather spend it catching up with the family than some random. No offence.

Hey Dooks
Just some facts before you go on and on
Last night 5 mins into the game
We were without 4 of our best 6 defenders
Fact
We all know Chaplin is past it
Taylor Hunt not up to it
And B.Ellis and Lids aren't backman
Astbury is very suspect
This basically left Rance to defend basically alone
When Grimes , Morris and Vlaustin were gone by half time
The floodgates had to open and they did
Out injury list is now big
Have our best 22 on the park and we are a top 4
Have 6-8 missing and we are basically a bottom
4 side
Does this mean you stop supporting ?
Ah no
Do you get on a public forum and bag them ?
Ah no

I want it to be successful just like you.
And yes Hampson is a donkey.
Play the kids
-
Dooks
What kids ?
Have you watched the VFL
People go on and on about Elton
Kid is miles away from playing AFL at the moment
Got injured , missed a month of footy
Lost his confidence etc
Seriously , we will battle to field a competitive team next week
-
Brandon Ellis, has gone backwards.
What roles is he playing?
-
Jackstar is correct. The injuries started in the preseason, the Port game.

Just added a bit of perspective. besides we were losing early in the year when most were available. Blaming in juries after 7 yrs of building a list is a cop out.
Simply put far too many are not good enough their record shows this but hey ignore away it is what tiger supporters do best.
-
The first goal they kicked, the ease in which they did it, that's when i knew my N0rt by 7 points was about 10 goals out.

My favourite part of the game
Was Carey laughing at Hampson and Chaplin 'efforts'

Add more pathetic excuses.....it's a wonder Halfstep hasn't asked the AFL to call off the season.....
-
Jack is correct, injuries have hurt us.Just like they hurt every team but some of our injuries are happening to players who are lucky to be on AFL list.
-
Against North we had more hit outs, won the clearances at the centre and stoppages and had more disposals(handballs in particular). Yet despite all this North thrashed us and North had almost double forward 50 entries. To me this means we overuse the ball, have issues with disposal efficiency and skills and a game plan which is not assisting the forward line. Going sideways and backwards is not assisting the forwardline in any way nor is the slow use of ball movement. Harvey said on ABC radio yesterday something along the lines of despite us getting a lot of the ball it didn't worry them because we did not hurt them with our ball movement. In other words players like Grigg were getting junk possessions. For me at the moment there is only two players in the midfield(excluding lids because he is in the forwardline usually as well as Jack for the same reason) being Martin and to a lesser degree Miles who can really deliver in relation to ball movement. We need more quality inside midfielders.

correct,Dioc. What was our excuse the last 3 years? Injuries?
-
We had our top 6 on the park on Friday night. Injuries is a pathetic excuse. Almost every side deals with injuries to best 22 players.

Yeah ...
Maybe it's the middle group. + That bottom six that's the issues

Add coaching, development and list management and we could be onto something.

Aye

hawks. no coach, player with cancer, no captain-still win.
buldogs. lose president, coach, defenders and captain-still win.
ricmond-lose morris, grimes and the bearded girl in houli and we are decimated by injuries.
Injuries are an excuse for bums.
Reasons are
- going into a season with hampson as your no 1 ruck
- gifting games to duds and then when required have to use others who arent ready. Those players should have been included when we wre winning. Thats smart management aye
- no footy review as they are all got sucked in by a few finals appearances
- giving dimwit a contract extension.
- not sacking hackson when dimwit was hired.
- hiring dan the flog and hartley in the first place.
- Last but certainly not least. MONKEYBALL.

From Robbo's dislike column:
2. Richmond
Spend their lives living in the dislikes and it helps explain why they are in 14th position with a 4-7 record.
Have had some poor performances this season, but Friday night against North Melbourne was the pick of the bunch. Forget the injuries, the Tigers were cooked before that.
Tigers fans must be disconsolate because turnovers came back to kill them.
North’s pressure is ranked No.1 — their average pressure factor is 187 — and the Tigers crumbled underneath it.
They gave up 82 points from turnovers. Last year against North at the same ground it was 92 points.
Two aspects here: Don’t pick Tigers to be beat North, and Tigers, get out of the Hobart schedule as quick as you can.
