Smart play would be to match the offer and make the desired team trade for him....2 x 10 picks or a first rounder and A grade player in return thanks!
Hope he stays :pray

Formula is based on the amount of the contract from the new club plus the age of the player. Plus peripherals. As Martin is at the younger end of free agents and you would think a large contract would be required for Richmond not to match (and any other club not to lure as a free agent), he would i suspect be worth a straight up first eound pick, which from memory comes after where our allocated first round pick for the year is. So probably best case scenario, if we finish 12th-16th as expected well get a pick around the 4-8 for him.

The smart thing to do would be to get an agreement on trading with his predered club for a similar pick plus a decent player. That would be the best outcome imho

Sonething like Patton and pick 10 or Peter Wright and pick 10 would be about the best outcome

I think another term for Peg, Dimma and Benny would be what we deserve should he leave
