The Tigers go into Friday night's clash with Carlton at the MCG full of confidence, after registering their first win for the season against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday night.
The match is the first night fixture to be played at the MCG this season.
Wallace said his side was looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd under lights at the new-look MCG.
"We're looking forward to Friday night football again," Wallace said.
"We've had a couple of opportunities at it this year and haven't been able to get a win, so it would be obviously nice from that aspect of it.
"But the thing I think that all our guys are really looking forward to is the fact that it's the first night game on the reconfigured MCG."
TICKETS to Friday night's game can be bought online at www.ticketmaster.com.au.

Time for some revenge after the last time. Bring it on! :gotigers.
Who should play on Fevola and Waite? Hall on Fev and either Joel or Chubba on Waite?
-
Damn Friday night and no sickies left :banghead :banghead :banghead
If Hall works on Fev then JB can take on Waite
I hate the Blues more than anyone, hope we give them a good smashing

Same with me. can't say i hate them as such but beating them is more pleasurable for me than beating Collingwood. At he start of the year this was one game I targetted as really really wanting to win.
-
Looking forward to this one. I have a VIP guest ;) joining me, so should be fun.
Last time i brought someone to a Carlton game, the scoreboard burnt down - so hopefully it will just be as interesting.
Hate the Blues - hate em, hate 'em, hate 'em - which is funny, because i was a Blues supporter before i was a Tiger :shh
Soon got that bashed out of me though lol

About an hour lol. My first game of footy was at Princes Park (or Princess lol) against the Blues. And not knowing much about footy at the time, their colours took my fancy. Dad was not too pleased when i told him i liked the Blues and didn't take him long to convert me. A couple of evil looks was enough to change my mind lol

I think it fair to say the Moi is a True Tiger.

Thanks Bully/Jack, will buy you a drink on Friday :thumbsup
Geez, you wouldn't put up with the crap we put up with as Tiger supporters unless you were committed or needed to be :gotigers

Damn shame that lol
Shouldn't be hard to replace :rollin
And "thoughtful" is my middle name :)

I would think anyone who played for Coburg yesterday would be very unlikely to play Friday night as it would be too closer turn around time between games.
I would think Knobel may be a chance, other than that possibly Hughes if they wanted to give him a run in the ones.
The problem is though, who gets dropped?
There wernet too many players who didnt do something last week and the emergencies that came in (Staff and Foley) both did enough to keep their spot.

Spot on Bull
I cannot see anyone who played yesterday getting a gig on Friday night simply because of the short turn around - bad luck for Polo IMHO ;)
As for who to drop - I cannot see how you could drop anyone. The only one I thought of was Pattison but I don't reckon there's much point in playing him one week and then dropping him the next
-
Id like to know if i get a corporate box with about 12 of my mates...would we be allowed to bring in strippers when things are going bad on the field...jacko would you know buddy?

I agree WP after the team effort of Saturday night.
It sounds like though that Patto will make way for Hughes as Patto played in Hughes' position at CHF.

-
He,s given him self the stuff after a number of poor peformances by the old fossill.
Get to the footy and see the tiges win and get back for a drink afterwards MJS ;)
-
A few drinks after the game sounds good Jacko, i am sure i could handle that.
MJS i am sure i could smuggle you into level 2 in the new stand if you want to meet up with me. Message me if you do.
-
All meet upstairs at social club then.
-
Actually now i think of it, it was the Rich/Carl game at Telstra Dome i ran into MJS outside the ground with what i presume was a lady friend.
She was wearing Carlton colours! :shh
So he may be busy this week ;D

Crunch or no crunch, Tigers aim to win
4:58:17 PM Wed 26 April, 2006
Jason Phelan
Sportal for afl.com.au
Terry Wallace concedes this Friday's clash with Carlton is a huge match for the Tigers, but he becomes more hesitant when the word crunch is thrown around.
Wallace has a policy of designating one match per season as a "crunch" match that has special significance for the playing group, but he wasn't about to declare his hand when he spoke to the media on Wednesday.
"It's a pretty important game - crunch time means something else for me - it always has. In regards to games, we've always said one crunch game per year," he said from Punt Road.
"I know a lot of people (debate) whether you can do that or whether you can't, but that's always been our feeling.
"It's an important game. When you have a look at it, both sides are on one win, you would think that by the end of Friday night one side's going to be looking at where they're going.
"One-and-four puts you in a pretty tough position at the start of a season, (while) the other one walks away with a little bit of hope and starting to be back around the pack again, so from that aspect it's a very important game for both clubs."
Richmond registered its first win of the season last week in Brisbane, but Wallace was confident that his players had not become panicked by their slow start to the year.
"We hope they'd get quite a bit out of it. I really did believe that we had played three of the outstanding sides in the competition in the first three weeks of the season, so I hope that they weren't getting too worried about where our position was," he said.
"I always reckon it takes about seven or eight weeks before you have an absolute idea of where each club is.
"I think sometimes there are decisions made on clubs that they're going to have a poor year, or decisions made on clubs that they're going to have a great year, too early."
The Tigers coach was hopeful that a large contingent of the Richmond faithful would be in attendance for the club's first hitout at the MCG this year and was unconcerned that the team would not train on the ground before the match.
"Every club's in the same position. Obviously they've done a fantastic job with the ground from what I saw yesterday and they want to give it the opportunity to knit properly," he said.
"(But) we get the opportunity to go over there tomorrow for a bit of a familiarisation walk around the ground just to have a bit of a look at what the facilities are like at the present stage."

Wallace fears Kouta onslaught
27 April 2006
Herald Sun
Rebecca Williams
RICHMOND coach Terry Wallace fears an on-field onslaught from Anthony Koutoufides after the Carlton champion's future was questioned this week.
Wallace said he expected Garry Lyon's article in Tuesday's Herald Sun questioning the Carlton skipper's longevity to provide ammunition for tomorrow night's clash at the MCG.
"You talk about Koutoufides, you have only got to look in the paper at Garry Lyon's article, he is going to come out steamed up," Wallace said yesterday.
"He was best on the ground against us in that game that they won (in Round 18 at Telstra Dome) last year.
"So we won't underestimate them by any stretch of the imagination."
But Wallace hoped the crowd would help negate the Blues, issuing a call to arms for the Tiger faithful for the team's return to the MCG.
The Tigers will use the occasion to blood another young cub with 193cm forward Cleve Hughes to make his senior debut.
It will be an eye-opening debut for the 19-year-old South Australian, the Tigers' second-round selection in last year's national draft at No. 24, who has never been to the MCG.
Wallace said the match was crucial for both sides, sitting on one win apiece, to keep their seasons on track.
"Carlton and Richmond have loved to hate each other over a long period of time so we are really hoping that we get massive support," Wallace said yesterday.
"I know our guys have been really looking forward to getting back on the MCG and we are now looking forward to Tigers fans being out in force on Friday.
"It's a big game in relation to where the two sides are, who's going to step up and march on."

Kouta, Stevens and Scotland had a day out last time. We put no pressure on them at all and we got smashed out of the centre :scream. Carlton might be crap but they won't be pushovers. They've been competitive in every game so far this year.

Massive danger game :help

Nothing but positives at Punt Road
28 April 2006 Herald Sun
Michael Horan
RICHMOND must capitalise on its interstate win against the Brisbane Lions by backing up with victory over Carlton at the MCG tonight, according to captain Kane Johnson.
The Tigers sparkled in a short, sharp workout at Punt Rd yesterday and while Johnson dislocated a finger in a handball drill, he soon returned to the fray after the injury was taped.
Johnson said that following Richmond's 115-point thrashing by the Western Bulldogs in Round 1, the players had made a concerted effort to turn around their fortunes.
"The boys have been on the improve in the past four weeks," he said.
"Our first round was very disappointing, but the attitude of the boys to get back on track has been sensational.
"It's been starting on the track and hopefully it will continue with a really positive performance against Carlton.
"It's just important we win, otherwise it'll make Brisbane nearly void. It's important we get the job done and then we can look forward to the rest of the season."
Johnson's game has changed this season, with coach Terry Wallace wanting him to tag some of the Tigers' big-name opponents.
"I've gone back to where I started, doing run-with roles on the best players, so hopefully that can continue and I can shut them down a little bit," he said.
If that holds true tonight, Johnson is a hot candidate to stand Carlton midfielder Nick Stevens.
Richmond returns to the MCG for the first time since Round 16 last year.
"It's very exciting. We've had a walk on the surface, it's a bit flatter than it used to be, but it looks like a good, fast track. I think the boys will enjoy it," Johnson said.
There was no sign of struggling star Nathan Brown yesterday, but Johnson said it wouldn't be too long before the gifted left-footer returned.
"Basically, he just needs a couple of weeks to get back on track, get rid of a bit of inflammation that might be around the bone or whatever it is," he said.
"I'm sure he'll be back in a few weeks and playing for us for the rest of the year."

Agree Moi. An absolute shocker by both sides and no excuses whatsoever :banghead. Still night on probably the best surface the 'G has ever had. How can so called pros who train most days a week dish up crap like that?! ??? Thank gawd we won although we did our best to lose it :banghead. 14 shots in the second quarter for 5.9 :scream. Sheesh we should have been 5 goals up at half time and 10 at 3/4 time. Then we go and kick 1.5 in the last. Any decent opposition would have pumped us by 115 points again :P.
I'll leave Richo for the other thread - B.O.G. Rainesy was great again. Pettifer, Lids, Hyde, Tivs and Hartigan were good also.
Staff went from choccies to boiled lollies within a week. Rodan back to Coburg with Krak not far behind. Just no intensity in his efforts at contests and Walker kept running off him. If Hughes gets the chop this week ahead of these then the selectors need their head read. I hope Jacko has a blinder on Sunday for Coburg as he didn't deserve to be replace by guys who don't put in at the level required.

Yeah, i have already - terrible aint it lol ;)
Although i'd have second thoughts about trying to chat up Angus Graham lol

Interesting to read in an article this week where when asked 'what are you doing' one team member said He was hanging around at another players flat with other team members.
Now if they were golfers playing at the level they do they would be out on the practice fairway practicing their weaknessess
The best way to learn to kick straight is to play Kick to Kick something that is not done much these days
and it does not need too many to participate in the exercise. all you need is a football and somewhere to legally kick it.
But then a golfer does not have the guaranteed income that an AFL player does with a contract agreement so why worry :shh

They do do some short running kick to kick at training but I agree Mopsy there's not enough emphasis on kicking straight especially at goal. Goalkicking is always left to the end of training even though it's a vital skill. The whole point of the game is to kick goals. We missed 8 shots from within the "vee" (45 degree angle or less) compared to Carlton's one. Nearly all their misses came from out wide shots. Pathetic on our behalf to miss that many gimmees :banghead.
-
I just watched the Dees & Kangas Not too many misses from set shots there :banghead
