Hawthorn have poached Richmond assistant and former Brisbane Lions three-time premiership player Craig McRae for their 2021 coaching panel.
McRae has spent the past five years at Richmond and was coach of the club's VFL side for their 2019 premiership win.
He will remain with the Tigers until November and after Richmond's season ends in next week's grand final.
McRae has also worked at Collingwood and Brisbane and was the 2019 AFLCA Assistant Coach of the Year.
Hawks football boss Graham Wright said McRae's coaching experience was impressive.
"He is highly skilled in developing talent and helping players improve their craft, having worked as a development coach at Richmond, Collingwood and Brisbane," Wright said.
"We are rapt to have someone of Craig's experience join the fold and feel he can play a real role in helping us improve both on and off the field.
"Craig is not only a good coach, he is a great character and we are looking forward to having him join the Hawthorn family."
The Tigers have lost Justin Leppitsch from their assistant coaching ranks this year.

Fly has been a brilliant assistant & development coach for us. Would've played a significant role in the fast-tracked development of Bolton, Balta and Baker in recent years. Sad to see him go.

One of the finest people in footy. Good luck fly!!

Leppa gone too? I thought i saw him in the rooms last night.
I don’t understand this new system. How many coaches are you allowed to have?

Got 2 coaching vacancies now.
Any links to dean Solomon?

Hodge will be a good get speakes well understands footy to.

Not sure what is happening with the VFL so we might not need replacements. Clarke and Ferguson have been with us a few years and understand our program- they could easily step up.

Damn, and Leppa too?

MaCrae wasn't going to coaching our VFL side in 2020. Xavier Clarke was going to do that
With the soft cap cuts, with MaCrae and Leppa going it makes a couple of decisions for the Club
