Looks about right to me.
Houli, Caddy and maybe Astbury in for farewell games.
Add another 4. RCD, Cumberland, Martyn, Ross. Wgaf
-
Don't care

Don't care
Yeah this is absolutely spot on lol. It doesn't matter.
May as well put a few guys into early break. Play RCD and Naish. Put the youngest 22 out for experience.

TANKING TIME
First time since 2016! Embrace it, winning next week is silly!
We want Pick 7 (12th)
OUT: Cotchin, Lynch, Riewoldt, Nankervis, Edwards, Grimes, Vlastuin, Lambert, Prestia
IN: RCD, Miller, Chol, Martyn, Ross, McIntosh, Pickett, Caddy (farewell match), Naish,
B: Short, Garthwaite, Stack
HB: D.Rioli, Miller, Mansell
C: Ralphsmith, Dow, McIntosh
HF: Caddy, Baker, Bolton
F: M.Rioli, CCJ, Parker
R: Chol, Graham (Captain), RCD
I: Naish, Ross, Martyn, Pickett
Why the hell not? AFL don’t like us anyway? Give us a $10,000 fine, take it out of our softcap.
Who cares …
It’s about 2022 Top 4 right now, not winning next week!
-
Houli pre-game on MMM said he hopes to be back next week.
-
Farewell game? :shh
-
Dimma said Astbury will be fine for next week.
Dimma also said we'll be looking at bringing in some of the blokes we've been wanting to give an opportunity to and would like to see. It's been hard for these guys to get a game in recent years given we've been successful but we'll look to give them an opportunity next week.
-
Out
Rioli Jnr, Ralph-Smith, Mansell and Dow
In
Sampson Ryan, Martyn, RCD and Ross
Something where the net difference is young players for young players
-
Play all the kids, Houli & Astbury get farewell games if fit and give the rest an early mark..... :shh
-
Yep play as many kids as possible. It’s all about maximizing the draft hand now.
That said, Hawthorn will probably flog us regardless!
-
Would love to give Miller a run replacing Gathwaite.
-
I would like Cumberland to have a shot too.
-
Heard Richo on commentary tonight saying that thanks to covid there's going to be a few unlucky kids across the comp from the 2019 draft that are going to be delisted without getting a fair chance to show their wares....gotta feeling Cumberland will be one of those unlucky kids.... :shh

Martyn, Cumberland and Biggie. No way have they had a fair shot at it.
-
Martyn just got another year....why I think Cumberland might be the unlucky one...be suprised but not stunned if Biggy was delisted... :shh
-
Hope the club realizes the opportunity it has to rest players this week and try some youth out to taste AFL footy prior to next season.
Let's have a look at Martyn, Nuyon, Cumberland, Naish, Ross etc.
Play ccj in the ruck all game. Play Chol
-
Dont need to see Nash again. Probably not much use picking some of the others either if they can't get a kick in the 2s.
Not keen to watch my club lose by 200 points

Even if we get a pick upgrade for it? Haha
-
drop short for naish
riewoldt for chol.. or cumberland. need to try something different up fwd.
(unless jack recons he can kick 11)

I don't think there's a massive difference between us finishing 10th or 12th or whatever.
Always want to watch the lads play well and see them sing the song. Pick 6 or pick 9, makes poo all difference to me. We won our flags from some smart trades and a stack of dudes who weren't high picks.
:police:

If we aren’t going to make finals what value is there to play tired or injured players when kids who deserve a chance to play seniors don’t get that chance.
Even if they don’t get a kick it’s a great opportunity for the kids to see what the next step up is, you never know we might even find one or two
We tried the middle of the road thing for 30 years which killed me, so I would rather lose a battle and win the war
-
It is a meaningless game that will change absolutely nothing regarding our future. You'll all stick the boot in to half of the kids anyway :lol
-
Give the premiership players not being extended a farewell game but otherwise bring in as many kids being retained for next season and rest the senior guys based on whose body is most cooked.

Spot on. This is a real chance to test out untried young players and give more experience to the younger players. For me the last game of the year can set you up for the next season. Cumberland, Dow, CCJ, Dawkins, Miller, Hugo and Martyn should all play if they are not injured. Should give Caddy, Houli and possibly Astbury farewell games. Should rest Cotchin, Edwards and Jack. If we get thrashed so be it. Remember the Swans thrashed us in 2016 and it led to significant changes to the club for the better.

While I agree in principle if the game is going to be a multi farewell game for the players you mention then I see the 3 blokes you want to rest wanting to play.
Which is fair enough too
-
All for playing the kids but lets not just throw em in to get beaten up.
Mansell - Astbury - Grimes
Vlastuin - Miller - Stack. Thats three relatively young blokes in the back half with three mature heads to help them.
Rioli - Graham - Dow. Thats still a young centre line but it has a 110 game player and a 76 game player. Reckon Dow has shown a bit on a wing.
Nankervis - RC-D - Prestia. A youngster plays with a couple of old heads around him. we could even start CC-J there liked his work against gws.
Riewoldt - Lynch - Lambert
Cumberland - CCJ - Bolton. A mix of youth and seniors. Cumberland gets a game instead of junior who has struggled to get a sniff.
Ross - Pickett - Martyn - Baker/Edwards. again there is a good mix of both youngsters and seniors and they can all play midfield.
-
Agree with that. Although if Houli is fit then he should play and it should be his last game. Send him out with a win IMO.
Dont need to see Ross again personally so I'd leave the captain in given he's playing some great footy.
-
Agree balance required, there needs to be leadership and big bodies to protect the kids as you don’t want them beaten up and to destroy confidence.I also think we should give a few a go who haven’t had a chance as well as giving any player who might be leaving a last game ( always Richmond)
-
Cotch won't play. Knee injury (PCL).
-
Here we go. Good start.

RICHMOND
The retiring David Astbury was a late withdrawal from the GWS loss with a quad injury, but the Tigers have confirmed he will play a final game this weekend, meaning Ryan Garthwaiteis likely to miss. Trent Cotchin (knee) will also miss, with Riley Collier-Dawkins and Will Martyn looming as possible inclusions. With usual wingers Kamdyn McIntosh and Marlion Pickett waiting in the, well, wings, it'll be interesting to see if the Tigers give youngsters Thomson Dowand Hugo Ralphsmith another game.
Verdict: Astbury, Collier-Dawkins and McIntosh for Garthwaite, Cotchin and Ralphsmith.

Nank and Sheds both to miss this week according to the RFC website.

Nank ----> Chol .... out of necessity only. Samson Ryan is injured and Mate Colina isn't ready to AFL yet.
Cotch ----> RCD
Sheds ----> Martyn
Garth -----> Astbury ... farewell/retirement game.

Reckon if fit Bachar will play and will replace either Mansell or Ralphsmith
Also think McIntosh will come in for Shedda rather than Martyn

Team Tips:
Trent Cotchin will miss his side’s final-round clash against the Hawks with a sprained PCL, opening the door for Riley Collier-Dawkins or Will Martyn to come into the side. The Tigers had several players down on form against the Giants and could also bring in the likes of Jake Aarts, Kamdyn McIntosh, Jack Ross and Jason Castgana. if Damien Hardwick opts to shake things up. Hugo Ralphsmith (seven disposals) was particularly against GWS but Richmond would surely want to keep getting games into its youngsters.

Hardwick flagged Richmond's 'generation next' youngsters would be tested against Hawthorn on Saturday and expected retiring defender David Astbury would return from a quad injury to play what's set to be his final match.
