Grimes with a hammy. So at least one enforced change.
Fire away with your chances? :help
-
Out: Ross, Farts, Cotchin, Edwards, Soldo and Grimes (inj)
In: Prestia, Vlastuin, Sonsie, RCD, Mansel, Riewoldt
-
Don't think you'd reward RCD after his performance today in the vfl. But agree need to see what he can do at next level
-
Can't wait to see Prestia next week. Hope he's ready for his 15 minutes of game time
-
Out. Soldo, was a roadblock if involved in any movement down the ground.
Costagna, 40 min of being ok (just ok)does not make it ok to be the biggest turnover and wastier in the game.
Aarts. Is not and has never been AFL standard.
Grimes, Injured
Others that didn't reach the required level for the entire game
Cotchin, Ross, Lynch, Balta, McIntosh, Tarrant, Graham,Edwards, Baker, Ralph Smith
Ok. Dow, Parker (yeah I know),
Good Nank, Short, Rioli, Broad, Pickett, Bolton
Gibcus forgiven for game three.
Forgive me if I missed anybody. The top three are the first changes I would make but I wouldn't be upset if there were more.
-

Yeah I think we need to know if he's worth keeping so gift him some games
-
Mansell, Sonsie and Biggie were very good. Miller solid.
I would bring in Mansell and Sonsie. Miller for Grimes.
-
INS: Riewoldt, Prestia
OUTS: Grimes, Ross and Aarts
Would actually bring in RCD as well. His development is about him taking over the Cotchin role. That's what they want from him but Dimma said they can't play in the same side. Seriously, what the? Best way for the kid to learn that role is to play with Cotchin.
Cotchin had another below par game... time to give the replacement games.
-
In Riewoldt Prestia RCD Miller
Out Soldo Aarts Grimes Ross
I don't think dual rucks is working. Soldos numbers are low. Surely Bank can pick them up and Balta can 2nd ruck. We are too slow.
Prestia replaces Ross our weakest mid in my opinion. Can't trust his disposal.
Grimes in for Miller.
RCD can replace Aarts as the sub however would prefer Castagna to be the sub, until Sonsie gets a call up and get him in for Castagna.
-
In Riewoldt Prestia RCD Miller Cumberland
Out Soldo Aarts Grimes Ross Lynch
-
Ins Miller should never have been dropped. Mansell, RC-D, Prestia, Sonsie, Cumberlnd, Riewoldt.
Outs take your pick plenty of very ordinary ones to pick from again. Would be targeting a couple of oldies amonst them.
-
Out - tired rundown players who can't play 4 quarters
In - ???
-
Out: Cotchin (rest), Graham, Castagna, Aarts, Soldo, Grimes (inj,)
In: RCD, Sonsie, Cumberland, MRJ, Riewoldt, Miller
Pace, tackling & youthful enthusiasm.... :shh
-
Not going to speculate on ins and outs. However, it's time to make a statement with some of the older players that have had the ultimate success and are now just cruising with no real work rate...
-
Sonsie for aarts! Miller for grimes! Please just no aarts.
-
I’m philosophical about where we are at. I just don’t want Dimma to be stubborn about playing kids.
Let’s get RCD and Sonsie into the team and see how they go. I don’t care if we lose every week. We need to find the next gen. The Cotchin era was glorious but it’s done.
-

This i like you missed one in Prestia though

Imo it a good spread where we get games into enough juniors and at the same time address some obvious issues.
Ins Miller, Mansell, Prestia, Sonsie, Cumberland, RCD, Riewoldt.
three address clearance and contested ball issues. Miller replaces Grimes. Cumberland serves notice to Castagna. Mansell gives us a tough lock down small defender and Riewoldt should bolster our scoring potential.
Outs Ross, Castagna, Aarts, Soldo, Grimes inj, two of Edwards, McIntosh, Baker. Imo Grimes aside who is injured they have all been ordinary this year.
-
Starting to think the same if Jack comes back, Soldo needs to go out otherwise we're too tall particularly if Miller replaces Grimes which he should.

Miller should but likely won't
Reckon they will bring Jack back in and swing Noah back to replace Grimes

Gosh I hope not.
Balta has looked likely in the forward line. I hope he stays there.
Miller for Grimes IMO and maybe Balta to relieve ruck if Soldo doesn't fit in.

Team Tips:
Dylan Grimes is set for a stint on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring against St Kilda to add to the 1-2 Tigers’ woes. But they could welcome back star trio Jack Riewoldt (thumb), Dion Prestia (hamstring) and Nick Vlastuin (knee) to shore them up in each area of the field. If he’s right to go, Vlastuin figures as Grimes’ replacement, while Thomson Dow and Hugo Ralphsmith would be unlucky to get dropped for either Prestia or Riewoldt after solid displays against the Saints. Could Damien Hardwick get bold and dump premiership star Shane Edwards after a quiet start to the year or even ditch the two-ruck setup? Jack Ross was also below his best against the Saints and could also be in the firing line. Dustin Martin’s (personal reasons) return remains indefinite for now.
Zaine Cordy will miss this weekend after suffering a concussion in the Bulldogs’ much-needed win over Sydney. It could open the door for Josh Schache to return to the side, particularly given Richmond’s size up forward. Hayden Crozier should return for potentially Anthony Scott or Roarke Smith, while the Dogs could ponder bringing in Stefan Martin or Jordon Sweet to give Tim English a chop out and to combat the Tigers’ dual ruck setup. Mitch Hannan’s spot could also come under threat after a quiet start to the season, including just four disposals against the Swans. Rhylee West (33 disposals, 10 tackles) and Lachlan McNeil (21 disposals, five goals, nine tackles) are also banging the door down for senior opportunities after dominant VFL outings.

Cumberland won't make the grade Claw. Like Mansell and would play him every week.

Cumberland now guaranteed to play at least 200 games and Mansell now a near certainty to be delisted... :shh

If we make changes then i just hope at the very least they acknowlege the areas we are being belted in and at least try to do something about it.

“I think (Dion) Prestia should be right to play, ‘Lamby’ (Kane Lambert) is getting a lot closer, I think Jack (Riewoldt) will be right to play, (Nick) Vlastuin is getting a lot closer as well,” Balme said.

There will be some changes at the selection table at Punt Road this week with Dion Prestia (hamstring) set to be back from his hamstring injury and Jack Riewoldt (thumb) also expected to return. Dylan Grimes will be a forced out with his hamstring setback. Ben Miller was omitted last week when Grimes returned from soreness so could come back in to fill a defensive post, while the Tigers will have to think about another possible debutant, with draftee Tyler Sonsie starring at VFL level with 34 disposals and a goal.
Verdict: Riewoldt, Miller and Prestia in for Grimes, Jake Aarts and Jack Ross.

In Jack, prestia, Miller, sonsie
Out Aarts Ross grimes soldo.
I think we are too tall. Balta to split ruck and fwd with nank.
Start blooming sonesie and see how he goes. Ross isn’t up to it and neither is Aarts.
Soldo had some shocking moments. Most of his taps went to opposition !
-
Agree. Having two rucks is not working and will not work against the Dogs. Ross and Aarts need to be dropped.
-
Would like it if they brought in RCD as well. Maybe rest Cotchin
-
Richmond ... will regain both Jack Riewoldt and Dion Prestia for the clash after the pair were injured in the season opener.
Prestia is required to simply get through training, while Riewoldt, who Hardwick says "probably could have played last week," is raring to go after a thumb injury suffered against Carlton.
Ben Miller will likely return to the senior side, while uncapped defender Bigoa Nyuon is also an option after impressing in Richmond's VFL team - which were defeated by Sandringham.
Noah Balta is likely to remain forward as Richmond continue to allow gun rookie Josh Gibcus to develop in their senior backline.

Chanel 7 says soldo out. Right call IMO.
