Looks like the silly season is on in earnest...rumours rumours rumours abound...and for our club these include
Our supposed interest in
Michael Gardiner from West Coast
John Meesen from Adelaide
and
[one other that I will not place publically because I heard it from credible but limited sources and it hasnt become publicised anywhere]
Also amongst stories around the place
Darren Gaspar is almost certainly going back to Perth at seasons end
Can anyone tell us anything at this stage on any of these rumours.

The Gardiner one was on SEN. Ah no thanks for more reasons than we just don't need a 27 year old ruckman. Keep him at the Claremont Tigers.
-
John Meesen from Adelaide
Darren Gaspar is almost certainly going back to Perth at seasons end
would like either or both of things to materialise.

meehan is a geelong boy, and the tigers wanted him in the draft but because he was picked up firstby adelaide, we got patto. still a good pick 4 us. i know meehans family, and know he wants to come back to vic
i dont care what issues gardner has, he is a dead set gun, when fit , by dar the best ruck in teh afl and can play fwd. i say if he is available, lets trade gaspar for him, would not hesitate for one sec with that trade!
now the third bloke, why not reveal that rumor! if its ok 4 u to display 2 rumors, surely u can do the 3rd, no one has to know who ur credible source is
-
if there is a trade b/w adelaide and us for meehan, is meyer the trade they want, i doubt we will give patto, we just resigned him for an extra yr. we all hear that meyer isnt happy and wants to go home, could this be true
-
SORRY at this stage I cant reveal the third rumour because It came from a very close source to the player involved. I also rate this player very highly although the AFL media and probably some club havent come up to speed about him- and he will be a very very good player. I can tell you however that info has been passed on. I believe he would be an outstanding get who wont cost alot either. So for now...no names- no pack drill.

Coghlan and a first rounder to West Coast, Judd to the Tigers?? :thumbsup Well a guy can dream can't he?? ;D
-
Ramps, there is a perfectly good PM service which operates here lol

Ramps you're killing us you saditst! Do you hand out cook books to the homeless in your spare time? :lol
-
Is there any money in it...if there is then why not...but somehow i dont reckon Pies supporters would want cookbooks.

Trust me X. We should stay away :shh.
As for offloading Meyer - Nup :nope.

Does Jacko have any rumours...isnt jacko the chief rumour mongerer amongst lol

i wanna keep meyer too, but have a feeling he wants to go
about gardener, he is a gun player, his injuries are healed and who cares what he does off feild , he can win a premiership and thats what counts]
-
Would be interesting to see what the Crows would want for Meesan. I would assume Clark will probably retire and they will get Hudson back from injury and still have Biglands. They also have Ivan Maric who seems to have moved ahead of Meesan, and another young ruckman in Jonathon Griffin so they may be tempted to let him go for the right price. Personally I don't think the ruck is a huge priority for us, Simmonds will be around for quite a while, Knobel is a handy backup and they both give Pattison and Graham time to develop with Hall able to fill in when needed. Certainly would be happy to get him for the right price though.
Gardiner is a cancer and I would object strongly to us getting him. He has shown no signs of improving his off-field behaviour so we shouldn't be going anywhere near him. I also don't see the point in recruiting anyone that old. Chances are by the time we are able to contend for a premiership they would be gone, so what's the point (especially with his injury history, 126 games in 9 seasons)? We need to be building from the bottom up, not the top down. His form has been pretty poor since coming back from injury, I don't think we should be taking a risk on a player like that. I'm not convinced he is over his injuries, hasn't played a game yet this season.
-
I wouldnt trade Meyer, I think he fits exactly what Wallace wants in a player. I reckon we will pick up 1 player from another club. Player will be a player who could play for atleast 8 to 10 years and will fit the Wallace profile... lol
I can be such a bastard sometimes ;D
-
Does he already know the theme song?
-
Player will be an ex Melbourne boy playing interstate who could play for atleast 8 to 10 years and will fit the Wallace profile... lol
Chris Judd ;D
ok then does this player's surname start with the letter R?
-

We didn't offload one player with poor off-field behaviour to bring another older one in but there's more to it than that. We should stay far far away as Jezza says.

since the start of teh yr, gardiner has been good, has got into no trouble, and in WA they are saying he has changed. i think he would be good 4 us, as lontg as he pulls his head in and i reckon terry can and will be good 4 him
-
Judd isnt the player lol and the players name doesnt start with an R lol...but keep trying.
-
Jason Cloke :clapping :thumbsup

Easy, Wirrpunda
-
I used to rate Wirripunda - almost a champion - until I saw how loose he can be when Neon Leone carved him up.
-
I dont intend to continue with this nonsense but I will say that Wirrpanda is not the player. For now thats the end of the story...wait and see...if it gets out into the media in the next weeks or months then i will confirm that that is the player...but for now the information has been passed on and i imagine our management are looking into it.
-
why do we want meyer, first of all he's soft like all glenelg boys, yeah he's fast and has a good leap but the prob is he is homesick. was talking to a few lads from sacred heart (redden whos is now rookie at crows) and another bloke and they reckon he's fairly keen to come home. do we really want a bloke who doesn't want to be at our club???????
furthermore, meesen for meyer good swap? ;D
watto

A future rising star nominee? :shh

Meyer has foot skills that embarrass those of our senior players. Arguably the best kick on our list IMHO. Yeah he's still light on and gets pushed off the footy but he did put on 6kg over last preseason to go from 70 to 76 kg. A similar weight gain next preseason would put him near the playing weight he needs to be for AFL footy.

thats was only one quarter, the other 3 wirra won, and teh lasy quarter, wirra carved up davis! now thats a sign of a champion

thats all weel and good, mt, esp if the kid wants to stay and be a tiger 4 life, but if his heart and soul is not with us, if he wants to be home, what good are these skills 4 us, i say , and i repeat , anyplayer who isnt a tiger through and through , eff off now, this is why i cannot accep razor and rodan in our team and dont understand why we re-signed them! they both showed they didnt love richmond with a passion, and both wanted to look elsewhere and play! ok razor has been handy attimes, but look at rodan, and no excuses, he is fit and ready but he isnt in it 100% , and u cant use th ekneee reco as an excuse. richos knee injury was far worse and he came back and kicked 92 goals! gas was a different story, he wasnt ready, but rodan is, he was ready late last season but they held him off, and he cant even perform in the burgers!
so if meyer is with ud 100% keep him, if he isnt , who cares how good he can kick , ship him off. i truly hope he wants to remain, i know he has class, but if he isnt in it 4 the right reasons, goodbye

Fair enough X but let's just wait until the end of the year at least. We gave guys like Pettifer and Hyde 4 years to come on while Meyer has only been around one and a half. Hydey wasn't exactly Mr extrovert himself before Terry came along. The boys were giving Danny heaps of praise for his efforts and finishing skills at training yesterday. Out of Rodan and Meyer I know who I'd rather hang onto.
