Title: Richmond fined $25,000 by the AFL for covid breach(es)
Post by: one-eyed on August 16, 2022, 06:04:20 PM
5 clubs given Covid fines by the AFL.

Richmond fined $25,000 with half of it suspended. So $12,500 which comes out of our soft cap for 2022/23.

Sydney, Collingwood, Richmond, Brisbane & St Kilda all hit with fines for COVID breaches.

Breaches include:
- Not undertaking RATs
- Not uploading image of RAT within time period
- Uploading an image of a RAT undertaken by another person

By my calculations, a $25,000 fine minus a suspended $25,000 is a $0 fine.

Within the industry, a $0 fine is known as "a slap on the wrist," I believe--most often used to convince people you are doing something by doing nothing.

the biggest laugh these reporting of rapid tests, and i am glad our club is treating it with the disrespect it deserves.

What is a concern is if it was not suspended it would have had to come out of an already stretched soft cap. Every supporter in the land should be up in arms about this alone. 25K if it happened probably means another employee of the club loses his job. WTF has the soft cap got to do with covid breaches?

The game is stuffed

Stupid rules e.g. stand rule, ruckman nominating,

The MRO is a shambles

Ditto the Tribunal and the appeals process

Crowds are down because the AFL are so out of touch with supporters

And now they dish up this nonsense. It would appear just another example of trying to justify the existence of its "Integrity Unit"

What an absolute joke
