Borrowed question from twitter.
Q: If we had a penalty shootout from 35m dead in front, which 5 Tigers would you choose?

Both Lynch and Riewoldt miss too many easy shots to consider
-
KMac :lol
-
Castagna
Aarts
Balta
Ralphsmith
Tarrant
-
You forgot Jim Jess and Richo both guns who could amazingly miss from 15m out directly in front
-
KMac :lol
Good kick in front of goal.
Field kicking less so.
-
Soldo would be one of my 5

Jordy McMahon

I mean, his set shots aren't terrible but top 5 in the club? Nah
Soldo actually has a good routine and a beautiful strike. Solid option, Gracie.
-
Short surely top 5?
-
KMac :lol
Probably should check the goal kicking stats before making a idiot of yourself
-
Harry Kane

42 goals and 30 behinds in 146 games...wow, you're right. He is quite clearly a top 5 goal kicker under the highest pressure.
I'll stick with the blokes I named thanks champ
-
Harry Kane
Haha, Flossy is pretty reliable when he gets a go…
-

Not as a set shot I wouldn't think so.

Would like to know KMac's set shot stats from the last 4-5 seasons. I reckon he'd be going a helluva lot better than his overall career average. Super reliable set shot these days
-
Yup kmac is generally a very reliable set shot for goal especially from the 40m+ distances. The stat above would cover shots from open play I’d think which would bring it down. Could be wrong but that’s just what the ‘eye test’ has told me over the past few seasons or so.

Kmac's goalkicking per season:
G.B
2015 8.8
2016 0.1
2017 2.5
2018 9.3
2019 7.3
2020 6.4
2021 1.4
2022 9.2
-------------
Total 42.30

If you can break that down to set shots between 25 and 50m out, you find it's a more accurate.

I can't find recent stats but this site has a breakdown of distance and angle (left side, centre, right side) from round 1, 2018 to round 6, 2021.

Kmac's 22 set shots in that timeframe. Very accurate when directly in front within 40m.

Here's Dusty's set shots for that period by the way as a comparison:

Here's a couple more comparisons.
Jack pretty much a dead eye idiot within 40m directly in front during that period.
Lynch less so.

Excellent work one-eyed. Confirms KMac is the most accurate of all those examples from directly in front.
-
Kmac actually didn't miss a single shot from about that distance and in front.
What a hack haha
-
Hard to argue with that, gut runner who is a good kick for goal
-
All hail One eyed with the facts and stats.
It should go without saying but I am still in awe how good of a set shot dusty is.
