Title: What positional type of player do we need urgently?

it's obvious that high-end key defenders don't grow on trees

it's also obvious this club needs to cultivate one, or go and buy one. Nothing will change unless it does, regardless of who ends up as coach.

A fit and healthy Gibcus replaces him in defence. We’d be crazy to not grab a decent KKP player during free agency to provide some flexibility with who plays where but, Balta looks very exciting up forward with his speed, marking ability and size and I’d think he’d give us a fresh look because he can get on the lead and play up the ground and help spread the defence.

Ah numbers but what about quality.
Young who will be 25 in a few days time and na won't say it just deflects from what is being said., Nyuon and Miller who have been around forever and have not made a position theirs despite a dearth of kpp's., lets just say none will make it or only be okay at best. Harsh i know but very realistic.

Balta goes fwd because he just makes too many mistakes down back and the need for a key fwd is beyond desperate.
Then it leaves Gibcus coming off a missed season and very much a kid. Then there is Grimes who is not really a kpp and what 32 and if the last two seasons are to go by in serious decline..

We need to look beyond just numbers but seriously ask 1 if players will even make it and 2 what level are they most likely to reach.

Simply put you could have 15 kpps on your list but if none are no good then in reality you have none.

On the list of named positions you can make a very serious case that all positions need addressing.
