Petts for the second year in a row played all 22 games and kicked 31 goals (plus 22 behinds) to again show his transformation under Wallace's reign. He also improved his disposal average from 13 up to 17 and marks from an average of 5 up to 8.
How did we rate his year and can he push his game to a higher level again?

Was leading goalkicker for the club at one stage. Died off in the second half of the season. More speccies please!

The only thing I thought that did drop off with him was his accuracy at goal. Possibly because of an increased number of shots this season, but the year before he seemed to be deadly and even just outside 50, he'd go back and bang through a sausage roll.
-
If he can improve his endurance again so he can push up and down the ground and run off his opponent then Petts will become a very damaging player for us and difficult player to match-up against.
Agree wayne about Petts going for the long goals. Like so many of our guys they need to back their own ability.

Another year of improvement by Pettifer under Tezza's coaching.
He is a blonde head Richo :rollin wears his heart on his sleeve and his "animated" style when something happens is great for the game :clapping

Would suggest that this is a result of fatigue because of the additional running load when assisting the defense.
Needs to improve aerobically as there are not too many specialist HFF that survive past 28.

Agree there MT. In some respects, he seemed to be the barometer for the side this year. Seems to be the type of player who, if he stays involved in play, as much as possible, and maintains the defensive side of his game, makes such a difference; especially because he is a goal scorer.
As we’re still in re-building mode, at the moment, he seems to be one of the few players who lifts the team to another level, when he’s playing well. Of course it helps when the rest of the team chips in too.

again Petts stepped up to the plate and showed some style and aggression he needs to show consistancey in 07 as at times in 06 he went AWOL If i recall correctlythere was a thread some where saying he could become our OKeffe of the Sydney Swans thats a big call
as others have mentioned he has thrived with TW's game plan
look forward to some more spekkies in 07 go sugar baby
