Title: Biggest impact in 2009?
Post by: one-eyed on January 19, 2009, 05:42:11 AM
Even in poor years there's been at least someone who has stepped up from the previous year to make a big impact. Last year it was probably a tie between Lids and Moore who made the biggest impact and Foley the year before.

So who do you think will have the biggest impact this year -  both well-knowns and any smokies?

White for mine. As I mentioned in another thread, I feel with the opposition teams focusing on our bigger named players including Foley, Lids, Tuck, Cousins and even Cotchin, White will have the freedom to run and carry as an outside mid. He is one of the fastest players in the competition, has built up strength and finished off the year well which should all point towards a breakout season for the young fellow.

I would have said Connors or Cotchin but they all seem to be under an injury cloud which may hold back their progress this year.

Agree with you Stripes about Whitey. I'm hoping Gus and Cleve finally stand up and make an impact this year for the structure of the team's sake.

Wayne Cambell, after he takes over as coach sometime between rounds 6 and 12.

Backs: McG to follow in Kel Moore's footsteps.

Mids: Polo. A swift kick up he behind will see him have a break out season.

Forwards: Jack Riewoldt to set things alight up forward.

Ruck: Gus Graham :pray :pray

In terms of who we need most as a team to step up and have an impact I would have to say Clever.

I am also thinking Bling may be ready to unleash the beast in 2009
