Does anyone know when 2005 memberships will be posted out?
I just looked at the EOTT section on the RFC site which has been all cleared of old articles and it says that 2005 members will have access to EOTT in November. So does that mean memberships will be posted out within the next month?
-
Well...it seems they are on their way... ;D
From the RFC site here are the prices

When i first bought my Ton Up membership years ago, it was just over a $100 and two people got in for that.
How they figure memberships can go up so much during one of the worst periods in our history amazes me.
I know we get a good deal compared to other clubs, but i wish for once they'd give us a break.
I have to buy my boss' membership (thanks to losing a bet >:( yet again) and my own this year. Not happy :'(
-
Fortunately my calculator is broken at the moment so I cannot work out how much 2005 is going to cost me but it seems plenty :o
I reckon one of the reason is the fact we have more games in Victoria in 2005 so the one they are calling 17/18 would have to go up
-
froars,
out of interest how much was ton up this year?
to me hitting the people in those sections hard is hurting the people that join every year.
It certainly isnt cheap anymore, but we are all suckers
-
$790 something i think Bully - not sure, but pretty sure it was in the 700s.
-
Thats a fairly significant increase, you must be drinking too much Red wine at half time Froars.
Or maybe its Jackstar or Ronnie!!
-
Preaching to the converted on OER ;) but I hope other Tiger people do "follow their heart", get behind Terry and the new(ish) kids and (re)sign up. The Club needs us all now more than ever. Some exciting times to come in the next few years :thumbsup.
-
What's the walk-in gate price these days?

How sad is this I always keep a copy of the previous season costs just to compare. :-\
In 2004....
Ton Up was $ 825.00 for Adults, $ 703 for concessions and $ 577 for juniors
:thumbsup
What's the walk-in gate price these days?
I have absolutely no idea - $18 for an adult maybe
-

Well, if they're going to slug me for my indulgences, maybe i should ask for a rebate on all the painkillers i take after I've drunk the crap stuff they serve lol
-
What's the walk-in gate price these days?
This year it was from memory $17.50 for adults and $11 for pensioners. So for an adult, rocking up to our 11 games would've come to $192.50 compared to the $140ish it cost to become a RFC member.

:rollin and those skill sessions all set to Benny Hill music ;)
It's tempting to head down to training next week to see the "oldies" first training session under Wallace lol.
Not sure what "highlights" there'll be from 2004 on the DVD. It'd be lucky to last 30 seconds - round 1 win over Pies, Schulz's specky, Richo's long bombing goal with a wet ball and Richo baggin 10. That's about it :(.

Hartigan, Jackson, Schulz, - the kids. That's what I'd be looking for.
Don't forget the game against the Hawks in round 6 - Ray Hall's mark on the line and not knowing what to do ;D
And don't foget Joel's B&F efforts - would ave to get a mention.
There's 5-10 :bow :cheers minutes for you

Thank you to the kind Tiger supporter (has barracked for the Tiges since the early 1930s) who kindly came by and dropped off my membership renewal form when it was posted to Brighton (huh! ???) by mistake.
Cheers and thanks again :cheers
-
can someone please explain to me how the "I've earned my stripes" work?
My Membership currently says
Been a member since 95
current status : silver
WTF?
what is 10 years considered to be these days? I think the club should replace some of their admin staff who obviously cant add up! ;D
-
LOL PRR. Some dodgy calculators used down there this year ;).
The recognition level is based on how many consecutive years you've been a member including the new season (2005) when you renew. So in your case PRR you should be classed as a RFC member for 11 years (95,96,97,....,03,04,05) which means you should actually be a gold member (10-19 years range). The club has membership records dating back to 94 so it should be easy to fix even over the phone.
-
I'm totally confused, rang up to renew my membership, was bronze this year, next year I'm told I'm silver and will be gold the year after :-\ Did someone put me in fast forward??? Ah well, as long as I get my seat! ;D
-
This club has lost the plot
I'm considering not renewing my membership at all
thats how angry i am right now
million dollar loss
wooden spoon
alternative ticket
current board
rumours that we wont pick up Deledio
WE ARE A F@#$%*! JOKE !!! and I've had a gutful.

Deledio to receive a slice of history
6:16:49 PM Fri 19 November, 2004
Paul Gough
Sportal
Brett Deledio not only appears certain to be named as the illustrious number one pick by Richmond in Saturday's AFL national draft but such is the high regard the 17-year-old is already held in he will be immediately handed one of the most famous numbers in the Tigers' history.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who hails from Kyabram in country Victoria, was one of the stand-out players at this year's All-Australians under 18 championships where he averaged 24 possessions per game in what is traditionally the best guide to prospective draftees.
And Deledio, who stands 188cm and 81kg and whose father Wayne played one game for Carlton in 1975, will be expected to walk straight into the Tigers' line-up next year.
Certainly the Tigers are already giving the indication they believe that will be the case, having set aside their number three jumper for their number one draftee on Saturday.
This is the same number three guernsey worn by 1969 premiership captain Roger Dean, champion 1980's rover Dale Weightman and for the past 12 years by Duncan Kellaway, one of the bravest players ever to play for Richmond.
But the Tigers - under new coach Terry Wallace - are confident Deledio will measure up the high expectations that will be placed on his shoulders.

I'm not sure Harry but isn't normally early next year that the membership arrives after they have sorted out the allocation for reserved seating etc...
-
I think they're trying to get them out prior to Xmas. It would be a might effort, given they were two weeks later (thanks to the AFL) getting the info out this year as compared to last year.
-
Wished they'd hurry up - I want my DVD :rollin
And new Cap..............................
and my stickers - car looks bloody naked at the moment ;D

Guess who's gonna be a member on Friday when i get some cash - come on pay day lol
-
I have premium A seating for all home games, these seats had to be renewed by today.
I rang up the 1300 number this morning and went through the menu and paid via Credit card on an automated system.
My Dad rang up this afternoon to pay for his and spoke to someone over the phone and they told him that i hadnt paid.
Then some chick from the club rang me up and asked if i still wanted to keep my seat, i told her that i paid this morning and she replied saying that the system showed me still unpaid.
I gave her my reciept number and she was going to get back to me.
Anyway, so i have renewed my membership!

Can you give us a rundown on the DVD MT? I'm waiting for a certain Mr Boog E. Knights to get his act/money together before I renew this year. :lol
It's split into 9 parts fwoy. Firstly interviews from Wright, Miller and Wallace. Wallace's one is best by far. Terry once again shows he has what he wants to do all worked out well in advance and in a systematic fashion. Next comes a written summary of each of our draftees.
Then Tom Roach, Bowden, Krakouer, Hartigan, Jackson, Schulz and Johnno talk about the club, about Terry, the fans etc... lol @ Sarge. In a nice touch they chat to trainers, doormen, masseurs etc and go through the preparation before a game. The last bit is highlights of the best marks and goals from this year (except they didn't include Richo's long goal and speccy against the Swans ???).
The DVD finishes with a spiel about laguna on the whitsundays.

However other household members got theirs and there was the DVD.
I watched the DVD - I didn't think it was too bad.
LOL at the 2004 highlights going for about 5 minutes and some of the highlights having the scores up in the right hand corner and sating thins like Rich 35 - Adel 105 :'( :'(

I've said it before - he is so impressive. NIce to know we've moved from having tennis legs to "sailors" legs :help

Tigers smash their membership records
1:38:40 PM Wed 22 December, 2004
Tony Greenberg
richmondfc.com.au
Richmond has set a new Christmas membership record . . .
As at close of business yesterday (Tuesday, December 21), the Tigers had broken through the 12,000 membership barrier for the first time in the lead-up to Christmas.
The Club had 12,149 ticketed members, a 12.7% increase on the corresponding time last year, and 2914 non-ticketed members, which is 15.2% up.
“It has been very pleasing to see such a terrific response from our existing and new members’ pre-Christmas,” said Richmond’s Consumer Marketing Manager Trent Jacobs.
“There is definitely an air of excitement with the positive changes that have been made over the past 4-6 months at the Club, and this has been reinforced by our membership tallies before Christmas.
“Moving into 2005, we are looking forward to all areas of the Club uniting and moving forward with plenty of optimism. An integral ingredient for this to come to fruition will be to ensure that our members and supporters are 100% behind us.
“We’re confident that we’ll continue to receive a great response from the Yellow and Black faithful in 2005 . . .”
*Please note that the Richmond Football Club offices will be closed from 5pm on Thursday, December 23 and will reopen on Wednesday, January 5.

Those numbers again folks
12,149 ticketed
2,914 non ticketed
total = 15,063 :cheers :cheers :thumbsup :thumbsup :cheers :bow :bow :thumbsup
We here at OER understand the increase in Non-ticketed members is a result of Julz singning up all her neighbours so she can get the Desk Calendar that contains a number of Richo pics as Xmas presents from her said neighbours ;D ;) ;D
-
Be interesting to see what wer'e up to once someone decides to go back to work
-
As the Club was closed over Christmas and New Year's there'd probably be not much change.

Back to work we go
Ticketed Members 10/01/05 - 13,500

We had just over 15,000 by the start of feb last year so it looks like we will be well ahead of that by feb this year. A couple of early wins and we could finally crack 30k.
-
What's in the package again?
Is there a DVD or something?
And if there is, was this just given to early members joining?
I was early - but they are late in getting my membership to me. Been signed up for aged - hope i get a DVD
-
The "Behind the Tiger Curtain" DVD is available only for Adult 11/18, Concession 11/18, Country/Interstate 5 and MCC Tiger members.
I think you might just scrape in for eligibility Moi. ;D
The new benefit this year is the Coburg (RFC) membership for all Coburg home games.
-
Thanks Fish, just hope it gets here before i'm too old to enjoy all that stuff.
Thank god i'm patient lol

Saw a post from an Australia Post employee on another site that Richmond membership packs have been turning up without mailing details.
Apparently a mailing house problem where an envelope with mailing details has been detached from the packs in transit.
Sounds like it might be a nightmare and may take quite a while to sort out. :(

Business booms at Tigerland
1:50:42 PM Thu 27 January, 2005
Paul Gough
Sportal
The excitement generated by Terry Wallace's appointment as coach is translating into a big membership boost for Richmond providing the Tigers with some much-needed extra revenue.
After the disastrous 2004 season in which the club not only finished on the bottom but also declared a financial loss of just under $2.2 million, the Tigers are riding a wave of optimism just weeks before they kick off the Wizard Home Loans Cup against Collingwood on February 18.
Richmond chief executive said the appointment of Wallace, who lifted the Western Bulldogs from 15th to a preliminary final in his first full season in charge back in 1997, had been well-received by Tigers' fans.
Wright said the Tigers' ticketed membership was already up five per cent on this time last year while non-ticketed membership - packages that admit to less than five games a season - were up 11 per cent.
And reserved seat sales for home games were also up five per cent compared to 2004.
Wright said the result was even more pleasing considering the Tigers released their membership packages much later this year.
"We went on the market five weeks later but in three weeks we had caught last year's figures," he told Sportal.
"We are very pleased, our membership is strong and with our Wizard Cup game against Collingwood coming up we expect to ramp it up even further."
The Tigers' had just over 27,000 members last year and will be hoping to push that number up towards 30,000 in 2005.
Wright said the club's major sponsors such as the Transport Accident Commission, Motorola and Connex had also re-signed with the club while Silvertop Taxis have just signed on as an additional sponsor.
And as part of that deal, the Tigers will wear a silver jumper during the Wizard Cup.

Interstate members is it any hassle to swap a MCG games?
I have been told that the club sends a letter asking if there are any games that interstate members would like to substitute.
Has anyone on the site done this before?

From The Age:
Wallace also made an impassioned call for Richmond supporters to jump aboard the bandwagon, chastising them for their apathy and lack of commitment to the cause. He said that as one of the big four Victorian clubs - along with Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon - it was unacceptable that there were 8800 members from last year who were yet to renew.

Join up, Tigers
16 March 2005
Herald Sun
Mark Stevens
COACH Terry Wallace has turned the blowtorch on Richmond fans, saying if the club cannot crack the 30,000 membership mark it will have no chance of long-term success.
In 2004, the Tigers were 11th in membership numbers with more than 27,000 members. But nearly 9000 have not renewed, and the club has 21,000 members so far.
"We have 400,000-plus Australia-wide barracking for the footy club," he said. "We, as yet, can't turn 10 per cent of those into members."

------------------------------
I think a number of tiger supporter have been burnt over the years as TS said in another thread with false hope that they want to see some on-field results before they all jump on the bandwagon. The free sunnies might have also blown up the figures last year.

::) What can I say - fairweather nuts - I worked with this dude in 2003 and he was allways talking Tigers to me about being such a great member etc etc.
Then 04 comes and he's going on about eff richmond I'm not buying a membership for that poo etc etc.
Basically I gave him a gobful - told him he is not a real supporter you dont just jump off etc etc.
He hardly bothered to speak to me after that ::)
I really cant stand the fairweather nuts - no fckn spunk or personality these days - It sums up people as humans sometimes and all clubs have them.
Now that's of my chest our first 8 games are in Melbourne so maybe they will jump on then - lets hope for a good start.
Cause it doesn't matter who jumps on as long as they are on. :thumbsup

looking at these figures, im not sure if th eother clubs are combining ticketed and n/ticketed members in their tallies.
we know that last year we did , so based on that we have already matched last years memberships. according to th efooty show last night the tigers and th ebombers had the best responce to the membership dial a thon, so our figures will only improve.
another imp note, we have passed geelong with ticketed memberships no doubt and they had a successful 2004, we are close and maybe passed the saints also, and looks like we are matching th eblues who won the fiz cup!
30,000 plus members are not out of reach 4 us, coming off a wooden spoon thats fantastic, a win against geelong in rd 1 and hawthorn, bulldogs and freo in rnd 2,3,and 4 would give tw , the team and the club a dream start and will for sure get the members up!
rnd 1-4 are winable games!
lets eat em alive tigers!

Well after our effort this weekend I'm expecting our Club to break membership sales records
Will we even get to 27,000? the club must be worried because if we dont we will make another loss at years end.

I think that it is a pretty good total for this time of year considering that there hasnt been much on offer to entice people to join i.e on field success.
if we can equal last season and develop more youngsters then we may be able to get 30,000 next year.
-
Not far away from the same number this time last year. Trent Jacobs on club corner said the "stripes" campaign of recognising and rewarding long-term membership was helping with retaining members. Think he said last year was a record or near to one. We need everyone to keep the faith and treat their membership over the next couple of years as an investment in the future of our young cubs while we rebuild and then work our way back to the top.
-
our membership is fine atm, did u know that the other clubs memberships tally on their websites include non ticketed members! if u combine our 2 we are doing extremli well and just about 30000 members!
i rang geelong, carlton, hawthorn , roos, pies and dogs and they said their figures combine both membership types. the saints reckon they dont have non ticketed memb packages, i dont believe them

The main thing is $ coming into the club whichever way clubs manipulate the membership figures. There's no question about the loyalty of Tiger fans after 25 years of being crap but funnily enough supporters of these clubs that have had sudden rises in memberships since they started winning games claim we are bandwagoners ::).
The Saints might not be telling fibs as even their international membersip gets you into 5 games.

Please enlighten me!!
Where do the AFL members who nominate Richmond as their club fit in to the equation?

i j spoke top greg miller yesterday re the membership figures, r.he agreed with us that its not right that other clubs are combining both types of memberships in their figures and he has discussed it with management at the club and may bring it up with the afl. if we do as other clubs do we have 30k plus members already

that makes 31,350. PS- Ive been away on business, im glad to be back, Im, glad the tiges are of to a good start, but by geez i hope we dont end up on 8 wins and 11th place because that will put us back in the poo for the next 5 years.

Without trying to knock our two wins, we've "only" just got across the line against dogs and hawks who were only 1 win and % respectively away from us last year and who we defeated around this time last year. Still far too early to call any more than 5-6 wins for the year.
The main difference in 2005 has been that our style of play has been far more direct and attacking and exciting to watch under Wallace. Of course it helps that we now actually play the game to kick goals unlike under Spud :sleep. Blame the opposition for bringing the game down to a horrible flood :scream.
Our skill level and decision making this year is still below par in the main although it was significantly better against the dogs with even the usual suspects actually hitting their targets more often than not. And it was probably the most positive performance from a Richmond midfield in years.
We've got a chance to get over Freo at the 'G if we can roughly contain and match their midfield. Saints and Port might give us a reality check although injuries to key players early in the season have brought them back to the field. Blues and Pies to follow are 50/50.
Just hope the wins boost our membership and encourage new sponsors to hop on the Tiger express just when we need them :shh ;)

Yes WP a nice touch handing them out to young kids on the fence. Looks like Richo's one is a collectors item. Everyone shouts out "kick it to me Richo".

It will be interesting to see what happens numbers wise if we knock off the Saints or get close to them.
It's still pretty good value a membership when we have 9 home games remaining :thumbsup

there should be a big membership campaign starting tomorrow with Tuesdays with Terry to get to 30,000 members. Have a prize...the 30,000 member gets a prize ... i dont know...a plasma TV worth $6000 or something...if we get 2500 more members at $100 a pop then we make a huge profit. The 30,000th member will be unknown until it happens ... we could actually make a big thing of it...get it publicised on the Footy Show! ;)
-
With still 7 home games remaining it's still worth signing up especially if we make the finals which is now a strong chance. Plus there's the Origin $50 discount if they are your energy suppliers.

28,000 is a top effort by the Club and members after the disaster of a wooden spoon last year.
