Keep an eye out for an apparently great sci-fi picture called "Moon" opening on Sept 4th. It stars Sam Rockwell, and is directed by a guy called Duncan Jones, who as a kid, used to go by the name of Zowie Bowie. Yeah, it's David Bowie's son.

Ah the Rivoli cinema.
Still the best cinema by far in Melbourne, and cinema 1 at the rivoli is a remarkable venue.

I highly recommend 'An Education' for those who havent seen it, as it contains the best female acting performance of this year- Carey Mulligan.

Rhett Bartlett

Rhett is cinema 1 the one with the ornate cornaces and the sweeping almost stadium look to it?

Saw 2012 last night, as usual - american bulldust at its best. people being killed by massive earthquakes, tidal waves hundreds of metres high slamming into cities. A rubbish storyline where an american saves the day at the end for elite in society as they try and ride out these massive waves as they come through mountain peaks lol ... total crap and a waste of money.

Took Gigantor's advice and watched "Moon". Absolutely brilliant! I was worried that it was going to be a 2010 clone but it was sooo much more. Thanks for the tip G!  :thumbsup
