CRAIGIEBURN students are learning life skills through football.

The Richmond Football Club’s Tiger PAW program promotes physical activity and well-being in primary schools around Craigieburn.

It has just finished its first round at Wilmott Park Primary, Mt Ridley Primary and Craigieburn Primary.

The program aims to reinforce important values such as sharing, listening and being helpful, and to promote the importance of physical activity for Prep to Grade 2 students.

Richmond community programs co-ordinator Michael Lacy said schools were happy with the program.

“The values being taught were engaging and relevant to the children,” Mr Lacy said.

“Having the club deliver the messages helps communicate the values more effectively.”

More than 600 students have taken part in the program.
