Yeah Dwaino and this would give the blues more of a reason to beat us

Negative

Hope nought smash them

The season for me is not a total waste as long as we can knock Carlton out of the finals race and Bombers from the top 4 spot

On the run home
afl.com.au
Monday, July 16 2012

11. Richmond
28 points (seven wins, eight losses) 107.02 per cent

The run home:
Rd 17: North Melbourne at the MCG
Rd 18: Carlton at the MCG
Rd 19: Brisbane Lions at the Gabba
Rd 20: Western Bulldogs at the MCG
Rd 21: Fremantle at Paterson Stadium
Rd 22: Essendon at the MCG
Rd 23: Port Adelaide at the MCG

Saturday night's upset in Cairns was a great story for everyone but Tiger fans. Karmichael Hunt's after-the-siren winner leaves Richmond reeling. They will regain Dustin Martin, following his off-field indiscretion, for must-win games against the Roos and Carlton, both rivals for eighth spot. Needless to say if the Tigers drop those games their finals hopes will be in tatters.

We lose what we should win and win what we should lose. We'll win the next two weeks now, because that is how Richmond roll . . .

Where will your team finish on the AFL ladder? (Herald-Sun)

Where will your team finish on the AFL ladder?

    Matt Windley
    From: Herald Sun
    July 17, 2012 10:00PM

MATT Windley pulls apart every club's run home and predicts where your team will finish on the ladder.

11. RICHMOND
28pts 107.02%

R17: North Melbourne, MCG
R18: Carlton, MCG
R19: Brisbane Lions, Gabba
R20: Western Bulldogs, MCG
R21: Fremantle, Paterson Stadium
R22: Essendon, MCG
R23: Port Adelaide, MCG

Matt says: Richmond may just be cooked after its last-minute capitulation against Gold Coast in Cairns at the weekend - lose to North Melbourne on Sunday and the Tigers are officially done and dusted. Should Damien Hardwick's men conjure a victory on the weekend then next week's clash with Carlton is another mini-final against another team jostling for eighth spot. Win both of those then the Tiger Army may just be up and about again, leaving Richmond with the task of having to beat one of Fremantle (away) and Essendon to have a shot at a long-awaited finals berth. September is still a possibility, but there are a lot of ifs, buts and maybes.

I wish I had more faith in beating North but I just can't see us doing it the way they run, spread and play a man-on-man defense. With Ziebell and Adams out and the small possibility that Petrie is injured, it will help but I keep going back to the absence of Foley, Vickery and Grimes. Makes a huge difference to our team.

We can win this but we will need the Mullet to play and either Derickx or McGuane/Miller to have a big game. I hope Griffiths is fine  :-\

Geelong winning tonight and gaining a chunk of percentage was bad news for the sides just outside the Eight. Realistically it means all these sides are now fighting for just the last spot in the finals. It would be tough enough if we were in the form we were in back in the first half of the season and with close to our best 22 on the park but right now we look no chance and look to have run our race. Even if were to upset North on Sunday it could be all in vain anyway. We would need to win the next 4 just to stay in the race. Right now I can only see us beating the Dogs and Port on the run home.

Yep, there goes our season (what we were clinging to anyway)

Yep too many best 22 outs and too many forced changes each and every week has unsettled the side and exposed our total lack of depth. We needed everything to go our way to have any chance of finals and we didn't get it. Without some miraculous turnaround in form I can't see us sticking with the sides currently around us on the ladder. Not totally a bad thing mind you as say another top 8 pick will make us a better side next year and beyond when we are seriously contending for the finals and top 4.

Thats our fault for not taking the Freo game and one of the close losses at the start of the season or the Adelaide game. We blew our chances, and unlike n0rf, we don't get a second chance.
