In Mediocrity we Thrive
« on: June 06, 2004, 04:37:48 AM »
a contrast of the past 2 seasons

last year when that overated footballer mcCartney sealed a roos win over us, I actually was so torn up by that loss that I cried

this year after a 74 point loss, i was not angry or upset or even cried, i actually was waiting for us to fall in a heap after half time

i guess it means im now falling into accepting mediocrity, if i am not the only one who had the same thoughts then its

not good for the future of our once proud club
There's no I in team, but there is 5 i's in Individual Brilliance.

So our season is over :'(

But you watch - we will now win just enough games to ensure we finish somewhere between 9 and 11th place and get the worse picks around.

And this is all coming from a person, who previously couldn't give a stuff about draft picks!

 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I've just about had enough too guys  :'( They nag, beg, plead for our membership money (my $300 membership pales in comparison to a $2mill debt) They tell us to be patient and stay loyal, for what? to be constantly disappointed and ridiculed. And your right julz we will hover around the middle, maybe even jump into 8th for a week or two and get stuff all out of draft picks. Player payments should stop till they actually start playing, that money could go towards our debt. I know if I dont work I dont get paid.
And Danny, you're a great bloke, salt of the earth, good husband, possibly father of the year......but you're not a good coach....please go away :(

Danny is an egotistical asrhole at the end of the day.

He's had ample time to walk or at least admit he's a hack
but at the cost of our clubs integrity he's chosen to keep
his fat little hand out every week and pass the blame back onto the players,
all of whom are playing to the standard of his coaching.

Thisunfavorable person has sealed our fate,GOD HOW I HATE THE GUY.

He never should have been allowed to coach at AFL LEVEL

We should build a statue in honor of the "slagger" so we remember
the day the Tiger fans had enough.
IMO That week or two pronounced spuds future.

Okay I take some of it back.
I just saw  him on the footy show and didn't really want to spit on him.
I even felt sorry for the guy - he's clueless.
He is a nice guy etc but SO WHAT.
Im sick of people in life being tolerated on a professional level
because they are NICE GUYS.
let it happen somewhere else but  not at Richmond.

ps - I couldn't spit on him. :-[

as usual not much.
It was more his body language and the look
of stress in his eyes.

They showed a pic of him in 2000 and now and were
laffin at how his hair had turned grey. What was more
disturbing though was how he seems to have aged 15 years.
I guess good money comes at a price, unfortunately in this case -ours!
They even had a CG picture of him should he "decide to stay in
the coaching game".
LMAOOOOO@Him looking about Lou Richards age in 3 years.

Apart from that he said "look........it's time for afew of the players to
have a good look at themselves...yada yada.

He's only coaching us because Anita wants the Merc and so his kids can have a good life.

He just looked a million fathoms out of his league,an indicative image ironically
of our current predicament.

This has been the saddest period in th RFC.

lmfaooo@richmond coaches aging in dog years

Yeah I don't know how he could inspire anyone to do anything at the moment. He looks absolutely distraught.

His hair might be gowing grey and he may be losing years off his life, but the same is happening to us and we're not getting paid for it. He'll have plenty of time to lay about on his farm and recuperate once he milks us dry.

Anyway, its only a matter of time now. I don't think there is anyway we'll win more than 8 games for the season, and the results will speak for themselves in the end.

LMAO@Dog years.
LMAOOO@Richmond taking in too many mongrel strays.

Thats true about relaxing on his farm with Burkey and the lads.
Probably even have a dart board in the Barn with a tiger supporters head on it.

LMAOOO@Frawley retiring to wrestle pigs on his farm.

Worries me that it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

I saw Danny on the Sunday footy show too Ox. He's been looking like that - a shattered man - for ages now. Sad thing is he appeared to show more excitement towards the sides playing on Sunday than his own. I was thinking and no don't laugh that you're no coach Danny but you're not that bad a commentator. Maybe I'm just hoping he does anything else except coach us  ;D.

One thing I do ask myself is how Brittain, Crocker and Spargo never get a mention in the press. I consider them party to our lack of gameplan and spirit as much as Danny is. Then there's also Hutchison who I must admit I don't understand what he's there for. Seems like Greg Miller and the assistant coaches could split Hutchy's role. Why do we need a football manager when we have a football director?

btw I agree Julz. Geez we need some positive news! My head knows what we are going through is a necessary part of the CLub facing reality but my heart still gets eaten up each weekend after "efforts" lol like on Saturday night  :'(.

All my hopes for the club rest between September and April.
Thats when we will address the critical issues that the survival of our once great club will be contingent upon.
Unless the status Quo is changed( coaching staff, playing list, recruitment staff, draft picks, trades, presidency, honorable board, debt relief.ect ect) we are as dead as University, South Melbourne and Fitzroy.
The rest of this footy season is irrelivant, particularly if we win 6 games and miss out on the priority picks.
Drink,Drugs and Shagging models.
The rest l just wasted.
